  4. I remember there was a contributor (can’t recall the name) to the OTIB fanzine back in the late 90s/early 2000s who used to come up with loads of nicknames for players in his articles……to the extent that sometimes it was difficult to work out who he was writing about. The only one I remember off the top of my head is “Minty” for Scott Murray (presumably after Murray mints).
  5. One of the funniest things I’ve ever seen at a football match. It still makes me chuckle when I think about it.
  6. Excellent player. I have no idea how likely it is, but I’d love to have him back.

  8. Heathen Town - Elvis Costello & The Attractions
  9. No excuse. I can understand that before a game players need to get onto the coach and there won’t be time to sign autographs, and that they be mentally preparing for the match, but to completely ignore fans (particularly children) is awful. However shy players might be, all that is needed in that situation is a wave or “hello” or a simple nod of the head.

    Weimann

Excellent performance by Weimann. He deserves to start against QPR after that showing. I might have missed this if discussed on another thread, but why was his header disallowed?
  12. Decent game, but for the first half we were much too passive. The subs made a difference, particularly Weimann and Sykes, and we deserved a draw in the end.
  13. Excellent news. Rob is a good player who will go from strength to strength.
  14. I’d love to see this but it doesn’t work when I click on play - it says it needs to be licensed.
  15. Doctor! Doctor! - Thompson Twins
  16. Top Of The Hill - Tom Waits
  17. I remember it well. I was in the East End in the central section right behind the goal. Towards the end of the game with the throng of people already over the fence and lining the pitch, I nipped out the back of the EE and got back in the ground through the Dolman gates ready for the pitch invasion. It was mayhem that day. Great memories.
  18. You Tripped At Every Step - Elvis Costello
  19. Torn between Tammy and Webster. I went with Tammy in the end because for such a young player he showed real maturity. Webster was superb. Josh Brownhill made massive progress for us and was a huge loss when he was sold.
  20. Massive congratulations to Alex Scott. Not only is he an amazing talent, but his attitude on the pitch is excellent too.
  21. A good win, and it’s always very satisfying to get an injury time winner, but we made hard work of it. We should have been out of sight by half time. Second half our performance was quite flat and they had the better chances. Awful defending in the lead up to their goal, but it was a very soft penalty. Conway and Bell were our best players IMO. And congratulations to Andi Weimann on his 50th City goal.
