Phew, we were lucky to get away with that. Nigeria were by far the better side. Excellent penalty by Chloe Kelly to get us through.

I noticed this too. Also there didn’t seem to be as much standing over the ball by players when the opposition had a free kick, which is a good thing.

We definitely missed him yesterday - his ability to grab a game by the scruff of the neck and carry the ball to drag the opposing players out of position. Yesterday, apart from Bell’s pace, we didn’t have anything to really worry them.

There were quite a few empty seats in the lower Landsdown block closest to the SS. That area is never very full, so not sure to what extent in that part of the ground it was season ticket holders not turning up. Upper tier looked busy from where I was sitting.

Yep, I was disappointed in the lack of energy in yesterday’s performance too. I thought we gave them too much time on the ball and when we did have possession we were poor with the ball. Very rusty. Preston in contrast pressed us well, used the ball far better and executed their game plan effectively.

It was a drab game and City were disjointed throughout. Preston were well organised and much more composed on the ball than we were. Our inability to keep hold of the ball always made the equaliser likely I thought our best players were Vyner and Bell. Everyone else failed to make an impact.

Well me and my two kids got in with our digital tickets no problem. And we avoided the heavy rain shower just now. I’m feeling confident about this game and this season, which is the first time I’ve felt this way before the first game for a while.
