  3. Tough game tomorrow. It’ll be a real test. I’ve only been there to watch us once - a 1-0 defeat (I think) in the cup about 20 years ago. I remember hardly anything about the game. Hopefully it’ll be more memorable (and for the right reasons) for the City fans travelling there tomorrow.
  4. Walking On Thin Ice - Yoko Ono
  5. I agree we need to move away from retro kits (although having said that I would quite like something along the lines of the 1986 Wembley one). I’d like white/black as an away kit and purple/lime for a third kit.
  6. Under My Thumb - The Rolling Stones
  7. My initial reaction during the game was that Cornick should have scored. But watching the footage I think he did well to react quickly to chest the ball down and get the shot on target. The keeper spread himself well and made a decent save.
  8. I loved that tackle and his determination to get back and make amends for the mistake. That sort of thing gets the crowd going and really endears players to the fans.
  9. In real time yesterday (albeit from my seat at the other end of the ground) it didn’t look like a pen because of the obvious change of direction of the ball when Naismith made the tackle. Looking at the footage, VAR might have given it, but as @Davefevs has pointed out, that would have been contrary to the way the game had been reffed (and I thought overall the ref was good yesterday). I really don’t like the way VAR can over-complicate things to the extent where these grey areas occur. There are justifiable reasons for arguing that a penalty should have been given. But in real time it looked like a good tackle, Naismith got the ball and the ref’s decision to not give the penalty was sound in my opinion.
  10. Entertaining game. City were excellent in the first half. In the second half we never really got going and WBA improved. A draw was a fair result and I’m happy with the point because they looked the more likely winners as the game wore on.
  11. Tango Till They’re Sore - Tom Waits
  12. Really hoping for a good performance and a win tomorrow to get our home form up and running. And to avoid seeing Brummies celebrating for the second time this season.
  13. I’ve never been keen on all black as our away kit, but I think it looks good. Thumbs up from me.

  19. Yes, my son is back to his league games tomorrow. In weather like this it’s difficult to imagine all those afternoons standing in the freezing cold and the rain in winter - but that will come around soon enough. I wouldn’t change it for the world.
