  1. That first one looks terrible. I like the next two. Much better than than the blue training top that will lead most people to assume it’s the team from Manchester. The last one is ok. I don’t have a clue about the quality of the new range of kits. I like the design of the home kit. Not keen on the yellow kit. The ‘splat’ robin is absolutely awful and seems senseless after so much work went into establishing the new crest.
  2. Hey Mickey - Toni Basil
  3. A decent player who for whatever reason didn’t live up to expectations (or at least my expectations) after such a promising first series of games for us. But I loved his whole-hearted approach and I’m sure he’ll have a good career at a high level. Best wishes to him.
  4. I Stand Accused - The Merseybeats
  5. Fascinating photos and information again. Does anyone know why we wore black shorts in the early 80s? I remember reading somewhere it was to save money during those hard times because they were cheaper than white ones, but I have no idea if there’s any truth in this.

  7. Bat Out Of Hell - Meat Loaf
  8. No Dancing - Elvis Costello
  9. Handle With Care - Traveling Wilburys

  11. Currently drinking cheap red wine from the supermarket. I’ve developed a taste for gin and tonic in recent months. And at the pub I like a few pints of Amstel.
  12. You Need To Calm Down - Taylor Swift
  13. Midfield for me, for the same reasons that others have said. With Scott’s future uncertain, King getting older and both James and Williams seemingly prone to injuries, we need more options. GK as well. I’m happy with Max as number 1, but he needs competition.
  14. Beer Never Broke My Heart - Luke Combs
  15. Waitress Song - First Aid Kit
  16. I’d love to see footage of that Chester game. I vaguely remember seeing it on the local news at the time, but haven’t been able to find it on the internet.
  17. Same here, they were my grandad’s team so I want them to win tonight. Plus it would annoy the Man Utd fans immensely at no longer being the only treble winners.
  18. 1982, 1986 and 1990 are the nostalgic World Cups for me. 1982 was the first one I remember (I was only about 8 years old). I vividly recall Robson’s early goal v France, the Brazil v Italy game and the final. 1986 - Ray Wilkins getting sent off v Morocco, Lineker’s hat-trick, Maradonna’s hand ball. 1990 - Roger Milla, England’s wins v Cameroon and Belgium, the bitter disappointment of the semi-final. 1994 in the USA didn’t have the same appeal with England not playing. I still love the World Cup, but after 1990 it lost some of its magic for me.
  19. I saw saw him play, but my dad did and he raved about him. Such a young age to die.
