  2. Haha, yep, shambolic is probably the best word!!!!
  3. On the radio commentary yesterday, our defending at corners was compared to Reading’s - theirs being described as “aggressive” whereas ours was “passive”. Something definitely needs to change.
  4. I’ve seen the highlights and their first goal is typical of our defending with their player unmarked. We give away goals so cheaply.
  5. We are so inconsistent, I have no idea what to expect today. Hopefully the players will be more confident after the win at WBA and we’ll build on that result. Obviously I’m hoping for a win, but a draw would be a decent enough result and would give us 4 points out of six from two away games. COYR

  9. Vyner has really improved this season, showing a great attitude after times when his City career looked to be over. I’m pleased for him that he has reached this landmark.
  10. Brilliant win, and a clean sheet too. A win at WBA at last. Get in.
  11. Let’s see what happens. I can see the logic in swapping Conway for Wells - Conway’s form has dipped and Wells gives us more experience against a decent team, despite what the league table says. Weimann being dropped also makes sense, he looks like he needs a rest. James and Williams give us some experience. I’m not sure that Dasilva and Skye’s deserve to start - presumably despite their form NP trusts them more than Tanner and Pring. Although I think Pring, if fit, deserved to be in the squad after Saturday. COYR
  12. My heart says we can get one of those unlikely away wins. My head says we’re going to lose by a couple of goals. Play as badly as we did on Saturday and we’ll get thumped. I’ve only been there once, the 2-2 draw in the late 90s when they equalised after about 10 mins of injury time. Lots of trouble that day and to concede such a late goal was sickening after a brave City performance.
  13. Something I’ve noticed in recent seasons…..our clearances often seem poor and go straight to an opposing player. Sometimes it’s because we seem to want to keep the ball in play rather than booting it into touch; sometimes it’s a mis-hit or slice; sometimes it’s because we don’t have an outlet with all our players back. I realise there are loads of things we need to improve on, but this is something that has been irking me because it’s yet another thing we do that unnecessarily makes games more difficult.
  14. Completely agree with this. It was an awful goal to give away, but at least O’Leary was being proactive.
  15. It’s a difficult one. Semenyo causes opposition defenders all sorts of problems and is one of our few players who is willing to run and defenders and take them on. But the Conway and Wells pairing coincided with our best form. Conway’s form has dipped recently. Not a surprise, though, because that happens with young players, although maybe it’s also because he’s missing Wells. The biggest problem for me is our terrible passing and crossing, which makes it difficult for us to create anything regardless of who is playing ip front. Semenyo at least can create chances through his sheer physicality. I’d be tempted to start with Semenyo and Wells for now.
  16. What I found weird was that he gave them a free kick (unless I’ve mis-remembered it).

    Cam Pring

Dasilva has been struggling - his crosses have been poor and he’s not been beating his marker. I’d like Pring to be given a go. He had an instant impact today with his cross that led to the own goal, and he is much more robust.
  18. That was an absolutely dreadful performance from City. Millwall were poor, but we were worse. Soft goals from set pieces conceded yet again and a lack of creativity. When we lost the ball from our own throw in, which led to them gaining their penalty - that just about sums up what we are like at the moment.
  19. I’m glad that NP doesn’t tinker with the starting 11 unnecessarily. The players who got the win v Preston deserve to keep their places. Interesting that there’s no HNM in the squad. It looks like he’s currently off the bus.
  20. The win midweek has hopefully boosted confidence, so fingers crossed we’ll see a decent performance. Today is a game we should be looking to win, but as we all know this City team can make hard work of it.

The ground looked very sparse last night. Often in evening games many fans flood in from the concourses at the last minute, but hardly anyone was still walking up the steps at kick off time.
