Offside

We were horribly exposed at times yesterday in the first half - QPR exploited our lack of pace at the back. As for Naismith, what worries me the most is sometimes his passes are so easily cut out (like the one that led to Norwich’s second goal) and then there is a gaping hole. This is part of a wider problem. If Naismith is going to surge forward, someone has to cover him. Also yesterday it was most of the team’s bad passing that got us into trouble - I think is was a poor pass from Weimann that was intercepted in the build up to their first goal. Our decision making has to be better.

I thought we started ok, and had Vyner’s header gone in we might have got something from the game. Their first goal (yet again stemming from City giving the ball away) seemed to knock the stuffing out of us and for the rest of the first half we looked wide open. Second half we huffed and puffed without really stretching them and the game fizzled out. I agree that the subs seemed to hinder our momentum. Our passing was poor, often because we take too long and pass to players who are being closed down. We give the ball away far too much and then look vulnerable. Yesterday we struggled when they played the ball over the top. Disappointing performance overall

Looking forward to today’s game, hopefully we can keep up our positive performances and eliminate the mistakes that have cost us points in too many games.

It’s the same for me. I remember that I loved watching him and I was livid when Osman didn’t play him. For me, that was a strange era for City. We had amazing players like Cole, but also some truly horrendous ones. Some memorable games, but we were also very soon to find ourselves relegated. Anyway, happy birthday Jacki!
