What a day that was, right up there with my favourite memories of watching City. There was a fiesty atmosphere both inside and outside the ground, not helped by the aggressive attitude of the police. At 4-2 we looked down and out with their fans goading us. Minutes later and there was absolute pandemonium when the winner went in. Can’t believe it was 20 years ago. Where does the time go?

I know what you mean, my choice of wording wasn’t great. I don’t think we have a right to beat anyone, as our league position over the last couple of seasons shows. By “teams like” I meant sides who haven’t got loads of money who we should be able to compete against, when actually we have played really badly. If only we could put in performances like yesterday and Sheff Utd against mid table sides we’d not be so close to the relegation zone.

This has been what’s worrying me too. We are currently finding wins so hard to come by, even when we play well. The thing that’s really been costing us, though, is poor performances against teams like Millwall and Birmingham.

King was very good today and showed real leadership. He often seems anonymous when he’s in midfield.

Both penalties in my opinion. That shirt pull in the first half was blatantly obvious from my seat at the other end of the ground.

He’s our most improved player this season. He’s always available, always works hard and deserves the praise.

Really good performance. I had my doubts when I saw the starting eleven, mainly about King being CB, but he had a good game and marshalled the defence well. Conway was excellent and we were less effective when he was subbed. Overall we were the better side and deserved to win.

Joe Bryan had a good leap too.

I agree, tomorrow’s game feels really important. A bad defeat would put more pressure on NP’s position and make the international break uncomfortable due to our league position. I’m really hoping for a heroic three points for us, but the team is so fragile - it seems that our players have to be at the top of their game to get a win, and that’s just not been happening. The players really do need to step up and get the basics right.
