Cundy played well on Saturday. A very mature display for a player who has been in so few Championship games. Whether he is going to be good enough consistently at this level remains to be seen, but Saturday was very promising.

Shelton was such an excellent player. He scored City’s first goal in my first ever away game (3-0 win at Cardiff in 1989 in torrential rain, a game when Super Bob scored a screamer of a volley).

I would have taken a draw before the game, but it’s sickening to lose 2 points to yet another late goal. I thought we were dreadful for the first 20 mins and couldn’t string two passes together. Wells’ goal gave us impetus and from then on we played well and deserved the win. WBA were disappointing - they looked very average and created little. Defensively we looked more solid today and Wells had a good game. Loads more positives today.

I just really hope City put up a decent fight in front of our supporters. That game v Brum was hideous.

I liked Sproule, any player with that amount of pace is really exciting to watch when they are on form. His goal v Southampton when he nearly ran it out was definitely at the Atyeo end. Williams was a good player. I was sad to see him go. Cunningham was decent enough, but acted like an utter jerk in games against us after he left. John Burns…..blimey, the Pulis era was dreadful. He was such a horrible manager.

I dislike Leeds but I detest Wolves, so I’m glad they’ve had an unpleasant night.

He deserves the extension to his contract. His injury record is good, he is a decent player and a model pro and he has weighed in with goals. As has been mentioned numerous times on this thread, though, he has been flogged to death at times and we need another option.

It’s very frustrating. Surely any team should be well-drilled at defending set pieces, but we seem to be all at sea. Too many players make basic mistakes or make bizarre decisions (like Semenyo running away from the player he was marking for their first goal).

And Neil Kilkenny pointing us to defeat.

This is as good a chance as any for us to finally get back to back wins. But having said that, we are so unpredictable and Barnsley’s form has improved. A draw would be a decent enough result.
