  1. Well, that proves it then. I suppose common sense would suggest anyway that we have nothing better to do on Saturday than fork out whatever they charge to visit their “stadium” for a game just to cheer on one of our players on loan to their opposition.
  2. The fruit market side wouldn’t seem to be the ideal location for a stadium - there’s not much in the immediate vicinity. My memory might be playing tricks on me, but I’m sure I remember rumours of City considering it as a new stadium site at one point and I thought the same then.
  3. I thought we were unlucky not to get something out of today's game. One of those days when the ball just would not go in.
  4. Completely agree. I was only a young child at the time so only have vague memories of our financial collapse...but I do remember listening to that game at Eastville on the radio with my Dad (supporter since the late 1950s) and I've never seen him celebrate like that before or since - literally dancing around the room with delight. That proves to me how important that win was for the morale of the club.
  5. Liverpool and Leeds can only dream of having away support like that.
  6. Fantastic result. Two good away wins in a row, both with clean sheets. Great way to bounce back from last week's home defeat.
  7. Agreed. Glad he's starting. I've always thought he needs a run of games. The goal v QPR would have been a confidence boost. Now he needs to show us what he can do.
  8. A very welcome three points. Glad Matty Taylor got on the scoresheet and what a start Weimann has had.
  9. If we are suffering with injuries in defence and with Diedhiou still out I think we might struggle today. Hopefully I'm wrong.
  10. I was quite underwhelmed by our performance today. We didn't really pose much of an attacking threat or impose ourselves on them. Up front we missed a physical presence and didn't seem to be able to play the ball into space for our players to run on to. At the back we were OK but defended too narrow at times, leaving our wingers exposed (like with the cross for their goal). Forest looked the better side and were comfortable on the ball, but they seemed toothless in attack. Overall a draw was probably a fair result.
  11. Wow. That kit is horrendous. Up there with their Tesco carrier bag one for awfulness.
  12. Much better tonight. I was concerned at half time that they'd got a goal back, had chances, were finding gaps in our half and looked likely to score again but we were more solid in the second half. Joe Bryan had his best game for a while. Lloyd Kelly was very assured. Great interplay between Reid and Taylor for the third goal. The Djuric/Diedhiou pairing hasn't really worked yet - other players haven't been close enough to get the knock downs or to pick up the loose balls. It's good to finally beat Brum again, though.
  13. Two good goals for us, but we have been very open and their goal was coming.
  14. Glad Kelly is getting a start. I was hoping to see Eliasson start as well - he put a couple of decent crosses in at Millwall and that sort of quality delivery is needed for Djuric and Diedhiou to get on the end of. It'll be interesting to see if Brownhill or Smith are at right back with Reid on right midfield (with licence to roam) or whether it'll be three at the back.
  15. I'm happy with a point in the context of today's game, with us being behind late on after what sounds like a disjointed display...but our away form is a concern. We are still in the race for the play-offs, but we don't seem to have much momentum. Next week's game at Millwall will be interesting!
  16. I'm feeling optimistic about this game...or maybe it's just relief that the international break is over. 2-0 to City.
  17. It was announced as over 21000 but looked less than that. A very welcome 3 points in a game that was as dire as you can get.
  18. Exactly the same failing as last week - we stopped playing. All the things we did in the first half to control the game we stopped doing. Just before they got their first goal I made a comment to my son about how we seemed to have stopped pressing, allowing them to have their half to themselves. For both their goals we let them get in front of us rather than showing the determination to be first to the ball. When teams take their foot off the peddle it's difficult to get control of the game back - so in the end we were hanging on and lucky to get the point with their chance right at the death. On the one hand a point gained, which I would have taken before the game. Overall, though, another two points wasted. Still all to play for, but very frustrating today.
  19. Good first half from City. Diedhiou took his goal really well - I thought at first he took too long and the chance was gone but he found a gap and slotted it in. Quality. Good to see Reid getting a goal too. He works hard but shows such skill too. So far so good.
  20. I've only been to Elland Rd once for the infamous Nicky Hunt game. Horrible game but a decent weekend out. Credit to those City fans who've made the long journey today. I'm never optimistic when we play them away. I'd take a draw today. "Marching on together" is second only to that Irene crap sung by the fewers as the most annoying football chant.
  21. Happy with a point from tonight’s game against a good team. At least our losing run has come to an end. Now we just need to find a way to start scoring again!
