  1. Tough game today but it would be good to get something out of it. We'll have to be better in the final third than last week. McCormack will probably score against us as usual so we'll need goals today. A draw would give us 7 points from those opening 5 games which would be a decent return.
  2. Very tough game. I'd be very happy with a draw. We took some hammerings against many of the top sides in the division last season so it will be interesting to see if that has changed.
  3. Glad to get another 3 points. Listening to the radio commentary it sounded like a fairly drab game with City still not quite clicking. I feared the worst when they equalised, but what a start to the season from Tammy.
  4. A great read as always, Havanatopia. After the torrid first few months of the season I've really enjoyed the last few months with LJ at the helm and I'm confident about the future. Looking forward to next season already. Here's hoping we can end this campaign with a decent result today.
  5. I'm relieved that we're now mathematically safe, something that didn't look likely a few months ago. Another good away point. Now we can enjoy the last two games.
  6. Overall I think LJ has used subs well so far. It's good we now have options on the bench.
  7. We have a realistic chance of getting something out of today's game but we need to improve on that second half display on Tuesday. COYR
  8. We definitely didn't do enough in the second half tonight. Apart from one chance for Kodjia we weren't much of a threat, which was a shame because in the first half we looked dangerous at times. They seemed to score their goals too easily - not sure if that was because of their quality or our bad defending or a bit of both. Good support from their fans (albeit very very very repetitive). I was running a bit late tonight so had a beer in the concourse instead of heading to a pub. I liked the selection of beers in the South Stand/Dolman corner. Service in the South Stand concourse at half-time was very quick as well. I'm confident that we have the ability to get something at Blackburn on Saturday. The sooner we are mathematically safe the better.
  9. Same here. It'll be interesting to see whether we have learned from games like the Brighton and Hull ones.
  10. What a good win today and a superb performance from City, especially in the first half when we looked very threatening on the counter attack.
  11. Brislington isn't too sunny yet this morning. A draw would be a good result but like Fordy62 I fear it could be one of those "blip" games. Then again, I'm rarely optimistic before games and we are due a win up there. COYR
  12. Lots of positives from today's game. Really glad we went for the jugular. COYR
  13. It's a very winnable game today, but I hope our players aren't complacent. A performance like the ones against Cardiff or the 1st half at Fulham and we could easily become unstuck. Wish I didn't always feel so worried before each game!
  14. Overjoyed with that result after a nervous afternoon of checking the score on my phone. I feared the worst when they got the early goal. Let's hope we can maintain this 4 point cushion, not least for the sake of my nerves.
  15. What a depressing evening. That 8 point gap we did so well to establish has been whittled down and we are right back in the relegation mix. The last two games have seen a return of the soft side that has cost us this season, losing to seemingly very average sides. Hopefully we will soon return to the form that ground out those results a couple of weeks ago. Also hopefully Rotherham's purple patch will soon come to an end. Not sure what to expect from the Fulham game. Part of me thinks we should realistically aim to get something out of a game against fellow strugglers. The other part of me remembers how they tore us apart earlier this season. Those home games against Bolton and Rotherham are now looking even more significant.
  16. That was such a frustrating performance against what I thought was a very average Cardiff team. We seemed to dominate play for long periods but there was zero end product - lots of bad decision making in the attacking third and we over-complicated our play far too much. We never really looked like we were going to score. They rarely threatened but still managed to get two goals. That naivety that has plagued us for most of the season is still a problem. Hope the players learn from it and that we pick something up at Wolves.
  17. Excellent three points, especially seeing as we came back from a goal down. Glad that Kodjia (and Flint!) are scoring regularly again. Well done LJ and the lads.
  18. Our record there isn't good but we should be good enough to get a draw. Fingers crossed for better defending from us today.
  19. I now regret this pre-match comment - maybe I jinxed him! Overall we were pretty poor defensively, which I suppose wasn't a surprise seeing as two of our first choice defenders were injured. Vyner obviously struggled and we were exposed down our right-hand side throughout, even once he had been substituted. My first instinct when they got their second was that O'Donnell should have saved it but the highlights might prove me wrong. Not sure why Joe Bryan was taken off because he seemed to be causing them some problems on that side. I think 4-0 flattered them somewhat. They pressed us well and took their chances but we gifted them their goals. Hope Vyner's confidence isn't now completely shot. At least results in games involving teams below us went our way. Hopefully we can tighten up again at the back in the Forest game.
  20. Home debut for Vyner. I couldn't make it to MK on Saturday so I'm looking forward to seeing him play.
  21. It's fantastic to have now won three in a row to make our league position less perilous. The league table is much more comfortable viewing now. Hopefully we can build from here and finish the season strongly. I'm also pleased that JET and Mickey didn't score against us.
  22. Agree with you there. I felt indifferent about it overall and never like it when grounds are in a retail park.
