  1. I'm happy with a point in the context of today's game, with us being behind late on after what sounds like a disjointed display...but our away form is a concern. We are still in the race for the play-offs, but we don't seem to have much momentum. Next week's game at Millwall will be interesting!
  2. I'm feeling optimistic about this game...or maybe it's just relief that the international break is over. 2-0 to City.
  3. It was announced as over 21000 but looked less than that. A very welcome 3 points in a game that was as dire as you can get.
  4. Exactly the same failing as last week - we stopped playing. All the things we did in the first half to control the game we stopped doing. Just before they got their first goal I made a comment to my son about how we seemed to have stopped pressing, allowing them to have their half to themselves. For both their goals we let them get in front of us rather than showing the determination to be first to the ball. When teams take their foot off the peddle it's difficult to get control of the game back - so in the end we were hanging on and lucky to get the point with their chance right at the death. On the one hand a point gained, which I would have taken before the game. Overall, though, another two points wasted. Still all to play for, but very frustrating today.
  5. Good first half from City. Diedhiou took his goal really well - I thought at first he took too long and the chance was gone but he found a gap and slotted it in. Quality. Good to see Reid getting a goal too. He works hard but shows such skill too. So far so good.
  6. I've only been to Elland Rd once for the infamous Nicky Hunt game. Horrible game but a decent weekend out. Credit to those City fans who've made the long journey today. I'm never optimistic when we play them away. I'd take a draw today. "Marching on together" is second only to that Irene crap sung by the fewers as the most annoying football chant.
  7. Happy with a point from tonight’s game against a good team. At least our losing run has come to an end. Now we just need to find a way to start scoring again!
  8. It's important that we get something out of tonight's game to get our league form back on track. Also to prevent the losing streak becoming a "thing" that affects the confidence of players and fans. A draw would be a decent result. Being away might suit us to an extent. Apart from the Aston Villa game, our away form has been excellent. We struggle more when teams get players behind the ball, which presumably Derby as the home team will be unlikely to do.
  9. Frustrating game. First half our play was too slow but we improved after half time. It just seemed that the final ball lacked quality and our crossing was poor at times. God knows how that chance near the end didn't go in. Norwich were well-organised defensively and looked dangerous on the break. Liam Walsh had a pretty good first full game.
  10. I'm quite nervous about this game - I really don't want us to suffer our first back to back losses of the season. A draw would be a decent result.
  11. Very frustrating tonight. We threw away a winning position with both the attacks for their goals stemming from us giving the ball away. Onwards and upwards. Fingers crossed we can pick up something from Villa Park.
  12. Very difficult game today and I've got a feeling that our injuries will take their toll. Still looking forward to it, though, with another big crowd and players who will fight to the end. COYR
  13. Don't know, but it came out of the blue and gave them something to fight for.
  14. We were dominant in the first half and fully deserved our two goal lead. Their wonder strike at the start of the second half got their tails up and they then made a game of it. Another good 3 points. We are looking strong.
  15. They seem like a Jekyll and Hyde team this season: 10 wins (one fewer than us), zero draws and 11 defeats (more than any other team outside the bottom five). Fingers crossed for a good performance and result for City today. COYR
  16. Interesting game tonight. I reckon it'll be a draw, which would be a decent result.
  17. I thought City were excellent today. LJ got it spot on. It's the first time I can remember City playing without a "recognised" striker (yes I know Bobby Reid has been great so far but it's his first season in that role) but we caused Middlesbrough all sorts of problems with our interplay. We also saw the game out really well after the flukey own goal. We looked like a very good day side.
  18. After the poor performance against Preston and the first hour or so at Hull (despite the great result) it would be good to see a decent overall display from City today. We've got a fairly good recent record against Middlesbrough, so fingers crossed that continues today.
  19. It would be great to bounce back after the Preston game with a win, but I'm not feeling overly confident about this one. Injuries seem to be taking their toll.
  20. Good away point and a clean sheet as well. We are made of sterner stuff this season.
  21. Last season’s game up there seemed to be a turning point when things stared to go pear shaped for us. Hopefully today’s game will be better for us. I reckon we’ve got enough about us this season to get at least a draw.
  22. My thoughts exactly. Superb win but we made it hard for ourselves in the last 20 mins and didn't really make the most of having an extra man. Our defending for their goal was soft but overall we matched them physically. I've been critical of O'Dowda in the past but what a player he is becoming.
