  1. Well that’s good news. Ta
  2. The big unknown - budget! Delap Ive mentioned recently on here, but I don’t think he’d be cheaper to loan than a European target.
  3. I’ve never been fussed about who we get points against, whether they are gained home or away….unless it’s a genuine 6 pointer that means something. Every point in this division is well earned, even today’s three.
  4. Indeed he does. I’m fine with that btw. Better a manager wants a player than is ambivalent about a signing. In a lot of ways it’s really nice to hear. So often they remain guarded. Will be interesting to see how the budget is carved up. I’ve said before we are likely to be shopping duty-free in Europe for the no9, because there isn’t a) the right player here nor b) for the right price.
  5. Think that’s key. Got to be prepared to move on, be ruthless. We’ve been pretty good at that. Dickie, Roberts, McCrorie all in early. Knight might have been done early too had he not had Ireland commitments last summer. Tinnion said today they are prepared. Bring it on.
  6. It was £5m in January, I’m not convinced there’s as much wiggle-room as people hope.
  7. Rumours Williams has been offered a contract. I doubt anyone is that surprised by that. But the big question is what offers might be get elsewhere. I would like him to stay, but offering him a deal doesn’t mean it’s done. I agree. It’s been a good run, and largely we’ve played well / better since Easter. All on the summer now. Over to the “hierarchy”. Happily give LM credit for getting us back on track. I would like us not to be so boom and bust though!
  8. I think this is now a case of over to Brian Tinnion (and GM / JL). Manning wants him, and I have no issues with that. Let’s just assume Burnley get relegated (sorry to the Burnley person on this forum!) But I bet Manning wants him early, because pre-season will be key, especially integrating with no9. This isn’t one you want dragging on into August. So, imho, you try early, and you move on if it ain’t happening. In fairness we did that in January. We tried for Twine very early, wasn’t happening so pivoted to Azaz. Unfortunately we missed out, so went back for Twine, and got him, albeit with no commitment re this summer. I think the process worked fine.
  9. Yes, they did, but they weren’t good enough to carry it out. Their pseudo-diamond on Rinomhota (base) Rathbone Appiah and Odoffin (tip) was like a colander. I felt sorry for Eaves and Hugill trying to split our 3 CBs. I was really surprised they didn’t play with 2 DMs to condense the space for TC, ST and AM….ST and AM especially. Well done City for beating it though. Some people can’t see that there is cause and effect out there on the pitch.
  10. No, I just have a different opinion on his performance to you. I’m sure we will try and sign him. Obvious from the way Manning mentions him. But Burnley, assuming they want to sell, as they see him as part of next season’s squad, will drive a hard deal. Just like they did in January. Best hope is Burnley stay up. Even then I don’t think the price changes.
  11. Pring + hernia op booked this week (hamstring tightened) will be fine for pre-season
  12. Indeed. Quite funny in games where we’ve not performed, and you or I might credit the opposition, that doesn’t seem to have any relevance the other way around. Hmmmm!
  13. Got back to level wins and losses today…finish it off at Stoke next week for a “winning season”.
  14. Good professional performance / stroll today. Well done City. Roberts excellent today. Twine best performance for us. First real signs of linkage with Conway. Hope Pring was precautionary. Congrats to Elijah Morrison on his debut. (Bloody ell, Rotherham were terrible, not a Rotherham team I recognise)
  15. Twine had his best game in a City shirt today. But let’s not kid ourselves that he’s been at that level prior to today. Last week was better. But he’d been on periphery of stuff in prior games. (and let’s not forget how dogshit Rotherham were, giving all our players all the time in the world)
  16. Nah! (rice paper hat in cupboard ready to be eaten)
  17. It was….2nd Tier Podcast….a right pair of idiots, but fair play on the AF they constructed.
  18. Good first half, City doing what they needed to do, deservedly ahead. But boy, this is not a Rotherham side I’m familiar with, little fight, coasting. Understandably so. We’ve played some nice stuff. First time I’ve genuinely seen concerted link-up between Twine and Conway, but countered by how little Rotherham want to close space. But you can only take advantage of what’s in front if you. Thought Conway got touched by Phillips, who looks unfit having spent all season on the bench. Not surprised he looks sluggish. Tucked it away with aplomb, well done TC. Roberts doing his classy stuff, Dickie able to feed balls through the lines. Finish it off now Reds.
  19. I’d like him here, but I think he’s gonna go somewhere to be no1. QPR if Begovic leaves would be a good destination now they are safe.
  20. Johansen on the bench, suggests he won’t be following Rotherham into Lg1. Will have lots of suitors home and abroad you’d think.
  21. Standing ovation as he’s subbed off with 7 mins to go.
  22. Knibbs and Azeez scoring for Reading…both have had very good seasons.
  23. He’s earned a rest! I think this might be in response to Rotherham / Evans playing direct, and trying to screen the CBs. Something to watch out for.
