Agree with posts above, that the young’uns want to be close to the action, to see the stars up close, etc.
Feel so fortunate in those early years of taking Joe that we sat in the tin shack on the corner of Atyeo and Williams. Players and managers walking past, stopping for a chat. John Gregory (Crawley at the time), so engrossed with chatting to Joe about what he wanted for Xmas (Joe not John) that he almost forgot to hand the teamsheet in! The second season we were there, because of the rebuild, we had to use the disabled toilets in the away end. Some games you’d run the gauntlet, other games you’d have some great conversations with the away fans.
Cant complain about the view and facilities we have now, but it was good to be so close.
