  1. Yep, think that’s been clear by the mentions LM gives him.
  2. So what indeed. It was just the conviction in your post, it stood out!
  3. I think, this is how you and I think in our “normal” careers…or sometimes this is how your boss handles your aspirations! Do I want the hassle of a promotion, more demands on me, etc, for a 5% pay rise, a few other benefits, e.g. the swivel chair, the automatic bottle opener… …when in their case they are talking doubling, trebling, quadrupling, etc, notwithstanding the playing elements. I Yep, one club in particular are well aware of TC’s strengths and aware that his current team’s style isn’t helping…in fact you could argue that the only thing it is helping is the buying club’s outlay should he leave.
  4. No idea, soz. I guess some await the first “we’ve sold x” tweet, then we’ll know. All comparing apples and pears at this point. +++++ on an aside, well done @headhunter, nice to hear from GM, and especially for FBC to get that gig. I’m surprised that Ian hasn’t researched ACL injuries to any degree, nor when using the Leah Williamson example, he’s unaware of why female sport stars suffer from them in particular! A bit like the old days of work when a male boss asks a female staff member why they weren’t in work yesterday - and gets the “female problems” response, and quickly scuttles away not knowing what to say next.
  5. I dunno. I think someone posted last week the various comms that went out last season as a comparison.
  6. I’m sure the “over 8000” isn’t the final number for all the reasons you suggest. Although a week ago you yourself said it was 12000. But we’ll pretend you never posted that, eh?
  7. So, as of last week, over 8,000 STs sold (FBC pod the source / Gavin Marshall)
  8. All guesswork, but I’d imagine the contract offer on the table is considerably more than what he’s on now, let’s say double. But your point still stands, someone might still offer double the double we are offering!!! We had to make Vyner one of our highest paid players to extend his time here. A bigger club could come in this summer (with the right fee) and improve upon that, whereas we are probably at our limit. Obviously in both cases, the fee would need to be right too. What we do need to get better at, is being proactive with regularly updating contracts for those players we want to keep.

It really isn’t that difficult a concept is it?
  10. John Lowe, ranked 2 in England, 3 in the world, you can’t possibly get any higher than that!
  11. As you say, currently sharing minutes with Nahki on a (roughly) 60:30 basis and both HC and TD talking about a no9 that does some “things” they feel Tommy doesn’t. It’s hardly a ringing endorsement and a selling point to sign a new deal is it? That’s not a criticism, just the trials and tribulations of squad building. It may give us food for thought re contract length in future for our own young players, so that we don’t get into the last two years too quickly. Might have to start offering 4 and 5 year deals, with a 2 year review built in.

    Was that necessary?

It’s nothing to do with a Bristolian trait. And again you seem to keep insisting that support means “must not critique” and therefore anyone criticising can’t be a supporter. Critical thinking is very different to just criticising and doesn’t mean you don’t support the team.

This attitude I don’t understand. Might as well shut the forum down. It’s a fans forum, for people to discuss their thoughts and opinions with other fans. How people get across their points is up to them. Better to try to explain it that just say “I’m right, you’re wrong”. How do you think Liam Manning explains things with his audience (his players)? Videos, drawings (animations), data.

In a nutshell. More nutshells. It’s perfectly fine to critique the team, the club, individuals, as it is to praise them. I don’t go down the “names” used, because that’s not me. The defence of team, club, individuals on the basis that you must to be a “true supporter” is incredulous, especially without giving any reason. “Just because I say so” is t really how forums work. So @cotswoldred2, why not join in, have that discussion, you might find people actually understand where you’re coming from.
  17. Greenfield’s keyboards and Jean-Jacques bass. Spotify went into random mode after that album. Just listened to Reward / Teardrop Explodes, bloody love that tune.
