If you’re interested I reckon you’d find David Conn’s - The Beautiful Game, a great read. The history of money influencing today’s big clubs goes back even further. It is my favourite football book about the non-football side (inc Moneyball, which is obvs about baseball)

I think what some of us are saying / asking is how are you forming that opinion….because he barely played any minutes and some of those minutes were whilst trying to carry on playing whilst being injured. He looked half tidy pre-season, exciting v Hull, less so v Sunderland, decent against Cov (cup) etc. Theres a big difference between “he wasn’t the answer before his injury” and “I’ve not seen enough to judge”, isn’t there? Maybe it’s just the way you’ve worded it??? ?

I think with Neves it was a case of “if we don’t go up, we will sell him for a good amount that won’t leave us out of pocket”. They used a few loans too.

Our u21s (and u23s last season) don’t seem to play like a typical Academy team. Those teams seem to play a heavier passing game than us.
