  1. I expect that will be it, but just have a stupid thought that Kalas comes in and Tanner switches to LB.
  2. Yes, I hear @Mr Popodopolousis emailing @TomFat this moment in time to ask for all his posts to be deleted / expunged. ??? (caveat: assuming we don’t go on a wild spending spree)
  3. What should’ve happened to Donald Trump…and more that 26 minutes ago. Great name, shame the pod he’s on has to suffer from Ryan Dilks.
  4. I loved Jimmy Dangers. Like Semenyo, got you off your feet. I loved him booting Kyle McFadzean up the arse off the ball against MK Dons. McFadzean had caught him a few times earlier…so he waited for MK to attack, and just booted him. Beautiful!
  5. Sony / Columbia are playing hardball on the music / image rights for the video the media team want to use
  6. Yep, OOC this summer with a year option. I doubt we will exercise it!
  7. I was a part-timer in that era, I don’t have the recall of how bad some of it was…thankfully!
  8. I’m sure (guessing really! ?) the only debate at the mo’ is whether to exercise the option or give him a new deal.
  9. Last season: This season: He is a what I could call a “team forward”, or has been throughout his career. Last season was a good season, 0.42 goals per 90 / game. He’s had limited minutes this season but fits Luton’s high tempo game. Nige wants more intensity too. We will have to wait and see (if he signs) how much he can bring to our forward line…but gut feel is he’d do a load of donkey work for others to gain from.
  10. You beat me to it. Typically as a Tier2/Tier3 “straddles” we’ve attracted the wrong type of player…and graveyard is a good term.
  11. The simple answer is - it depends. You can right whatever you want in a transfer contract. Things like sell-on percentage usually persist through multiple transfers (as long as they keep increasing in value), but I’ve heard on examples where they are constrained by the contract term. For example, player x signs for team a on a 4 year deal with a 20% sell on, but that sell-on is only paid if a sale is completed within that 4 years. The same can happen for other add-ons too. Agree, they are preparing to pay £20m for Jackson, circa £10m for Semenyo is not unbelievable at all, imho.
  12. Re Scott and Semenyo from a purely financial point of view, one sale in this years accounts and one in next years (from 1st June onwards) is gonna help us…even in the new FFP rules.
  13. See my earlier post. Not suspended.
  14. Without knowing the ins and outs at your club, this looks like a sensible appointment and far more suitable than Morison or Hudson, wherever your thoughts are on them as people. Lamouchi coupled with Bamba gives the fans a “continuity”.
  15. I will miss him for sure. The conversion from wide forward / winger to a central striker / inside forward has helped make the most of his raw power and to some extent his raw ability. I think he might’ve been a CM at SGS when first spotted. Holden gave him his first real chance in 20/21, but under Nige he’s blossomed. I’m interested to see how he does and how they play him. I agree we will miss what he brings to the team, and it’s up to Nige (and recruitment team) to find solutions to make the sum of the parts work. I quite like Cornick, seems a sensible signing in terms of where we are financially, and although he’s a bit of a “drifter” positionally, he’s not played LF much in his career. Assuming he signs it will be interesting to see how he fits in. It does give us options to play Sykes in the midfield three also, which is where he’s played a lot in his time too. Good luck Antoine.
