Kolo Toure sacked
-
2 goals and 4 assists in the equivalent of 9 1/2 games.
-
Morris cost them £2m+ in the summer and I suspect his price is rising.
-
I have previous here, Woodrow is a good player, clever player. Morris’s signing and partnership with Adebayo is now their first choice.
-
Plus they signed Morris, Woodrow

I think this has got similar vibes to Kal Naismith last summer.

Wouldn’t last long, especially if cigars / cigarettes aren’t allowed.

You’ve started to answer it yourself below ??? I think it’s worth remembering who was playing left wing / forward for Blackburn on Saturday! And what that might’ve been meant tactically? I can’t comment on Swansea (a), but he was pretty decent with the ball v Brum too. Lets wait until he’s played another 4-6 games at RB in a back 4 and see how we view him then. Multiple ways to skin a cat (£9m)! ???

My own opinion, but I disagree…it doesn’t necessarily drop, let alone dramatically. It would do if he was still here after the summer window closes, but not during it necessarily. The club always needs money, but we don’t currently need it for FFP, and come the summer we lose a big chunk of the cost base anyway. Just my view though.

Over the last few weeks I think the squad dynamic and its recruitment needs have shifted. You could easily argue with Vyner and Atkinson partnering each other, Kalas and Naismith are the cover. And if Naismith is cover, that a CM might be a priority. Hoping we are lining up Ogbene. I suspect a non-relegation clause could be included, but expect the kind of 20, 40, 60 apps type stuff, plus of course a percentage sell-on. The relegation one is a bit of a funny one, but I see why it does get included. And we’ve benefitted in the last from payouts, e.g. Brownhill.

Tough to know without the insight on the add-ons. It shows we were right to turn down £6m + add-ons, then £8 + add-ons, if those alleged numbers are right…and that our opening position of £15m (I’m guessing) helped. And I think we set a deadline of today also. Other than that, fees will be whatever they’ll be. Goalposts shift, Antoine might be pushing from his side.
