  1. Nige mentioned post match his much improved the fitness is now. It’s usually the thing a new manager says to win a bit of early favour from the fans. Nige too long in tooth for that. Rennie a very important “signing”. Total trust. On the training ground a lot too.
  2. Lots loans to be on the same points as us! ?????? Chong is decent though (now their player after loan last season)
  3. Unlikely I reckon. Sykes no10 more likely. Sykes RCM James CM Scott LCM a possibility too
  4. The important thing is that he doesn’t rest on his laurels. He needs to keep striving to improve. Bursik has signed for Brugge. https://www.stokecityfc.com/news/2023/january/14/brugge-switch-for-bursik/ Would not surprise me if Bentley not involved today.
  5. I kinda expected this. What a brilliant comedy series. I hope we kick Birmingham up the arse today.
  6. Interesting take PSR. Will be interesting to hear what he has to say.
  7. Yeah, will be non-paid, but get a free copy of the game. Was a guy called Barnesy who used to be the City researcher years back. I used to be a beta tester for the game back around the lates 90s / early 00s.
  8. I think it’s very timely (bordering on a bit late), but good that he’s speaking whilst in handover territory.
  9. Although we might be in slightly opposite sides of the Bajic opinion, I much prefer a good big’un to a good littl’un. Now, firstly I know the camera does lie, but even with some caveats I think Bents is taller than Bajic. In this photo that is clear, although Bents is “long body, short legged proportions” so a seated position will make him look more taller than Bajic than perhaps he is. if I was guessing I’d say Bajic is 6’1, Bents and Max 6’2 / 6’3”. I’ve stood next to both of them and they are taller than me…I’m 6’1 (used to be 6’2 but the shrinking / posture has changed that with age). Having sat in section A8 last Sunday: You can see he’s much taller than Max And Bents! ???
  10. Re Idehen - yeah, how do you classify a player signed into the Academy (by Tins), who just happened to progress quickly / get given a chance to show what he can do? That’s a genuine question btw, not a sarcastic one! ? At the time he signed, he went into my Academy spreadsheet…then moved across as he started to get around the match day squad. I’m happy to accept its 9. We might have a similar debate with Ewan Clark if he gets into the first team. Idehen’s rise was pretty rapid though. His decline almost as quick! ? Why is this in the Rovers thread?
  11. It was probably me that clipped those videos in the first place. Far too easy to clip saves, I prefer a warts n all view! Like Hong Kong Phooey coming out wasn’t he? He’s got good reflexes and agility, but a lot still to hone / mature. I saw a lovely highlights reel of Atkinson before he signed. I watched the nit so good stuff too. Gives you a better balance of his Ability. I’ve seen how he has cut out those errors he was making at Oxford. He’s improving. I saw a lovely highlights reel of Tanner too. I watched the not so good stuff too, there was loads of it…some of it quite harrowing . He has really improved. Further forward than I’d thought he would be after a injury hampered first season.
  12. Nice one for putting a lot of effort into writing this. Comments in line above.
  13. @Reboundergood post, think it shows that “awareness” is pretty important in all of this. Some of it needs to be self-education, some of it sometimes needs others to do the educating.
  14. Yes, for where we are at the mo’…a bottom half (or worse) team. When we come out of cost-cutting mode and start to move into improving the squad mode, I’m sure if his game hasn’t improved from being a regular, then we might need to replace. It’s a bit of a compromise I’m afraid. There’s always room to improve the squad though. Boy would I like to go and get Iverson from Leicester, that’s a keeper to go 5-8 years with, but we aren’t in that game at the mo’. Walton (currently at Ipswich) would’ve been a good recruit at the time we signed Bentley. I really like Cooper at Plymouth, but he’s out of our price range. I’d like to see Max with a couple of dominant CBs in front of him too. I honestly think we are seeing a more decisive Max this season than we’ve ever seen before. I used to worry when he played, now I’m comfy.
  15. Antoine to rip them a new one…. ….I hope
  16. I said it’s one helluva rant (and contextually added) for someone we’ve barely seen. If you’d expressed the same opinion on a Palmer, Massengo, Paterson, I wouldn’t have called it a rant. Appreciate rant wasn’t the right word, but one game opinions just seems a bit weird (again wrong word) when we look back at someone like Matt Smith and the reaction he got.
  17. Who knows. 2pm will be interesting.
  18. I wish my kids were still young enough to watch Ben & Holly. We need Big Bad Barry in midfield!
  19. I think they are right of the boundary like us…they appear to have put more in their Covid allowances than us to ensure they hit the £39m. But you’ll see them trying to tout players, e.g. Josh Laurent, who only joined 6 months ago. The fact he arrived on a free, might mean that they can try to move him on at no cost, e.g. no amortisation to impair. No clubs have nibbled yet. Sound familiar? I think he’s laying his cards on the table like Nige, because the situation is a mess. Had Coates or Lansdown stopped paying the bills I reckon EFL would’ve hit us hard.
  20. Just feels like you’re rather keen to judge with finality so early in his time here.
  21. Quite probably stumbled…although maybe TransferRoom overselling their “product” in the article we all saw. It’s pretty likely that Cisse aware, especially as he was the man assigned to go and build relationships with Ligue 1 teams last season.
  22. In fairness the Wolves article sounded very much like guesswork. Wolves were of course after him before he signed with us. Maybe that’s been dug up.
