No, because there are factors like commitment, the impact on other players etc. it isn’t a binary decision.

Yes, and that’s his choice, because there are other factors over and above the ability of the individual. You know that, I know that, there is no right to be selected. It’s not belittling you, just made me laugh.

Haha, and what is the “qualification” for “deserves to be picked”? A manager can select who he wants.
-
Agree. Nothing in a standard contract that says they have to play. As long as you give them coaching, fitness, etc, etc, that’s all that’s required. There should be no expectation to be picked at all.

Don’t get me started….had a twitter rant with @Curr Avon’s sister re exactly that. -
No, not really, he’s more lightweight, skilful.

I disagree. When I’ve looked at the legal sites re PFCC (tribunal / compo), every transfer they ruled on had different stipulations. Where they used a standard 20, 40, 60 type clause it was appearances (not League), where it deviated away from that it was mixed between appearances and league appearances. Here’s a screenshot of one of the less standard ones: His career didn’t quite have the trajectory expected! Still only 29…he’s at Barnet! As for Massengo, I’ve no idea whether there us even a clause, let alone whether it’s league or all appearances. If it is 100 league appearances, then putting him on the bench before Xmas would seem strange.

We missed the boat I’m afraid. We gambled, we failed. We are having to restart, rebuild, balance the books. We could be Bradford, Sheffield Wed, Barnsley, Bolton, Charlton, Portsmouth, etc I guess until the accounts come out it’s gonna be hard to know what the fee was. It wouldn’t surprise me if Nige’s comments last week re Bournemouth-side leaking stuff was pointed…and they were told to keep negotiations out if the media. It wouldn’t surprise me if the fee is a bit higher than media are suggesting, and it works in our favour and Bournemouth’s if it’s out there as something less than it actually is.

@AtticusFrom watching Antoine’s video, it appears his shin injury scuppered a summer move, and pushed it back to this window. No fans really want a gamechanger like Antoine to leave, least of all one hitting form. I totally get your angle about the risk with relegation still be carefully avoided. We are by no means safe, and me thinking we have enough quality is no guarantee. But when a player wants to go, and a PL club comes knocking, there’s nothing you can do. I’d say Adam Webster was worse timing and that was a summer window! We’ve got 4 days to bring in a player or two to strengthen what we have left. We’ve brought in Haikin to push Max. That’s a sensible start of paper. Cornick (should he sign) I see as a bit of a facilitator, he’ll help others from the range of facets he brings. The money gives us a much bigger pond to fish in, albeit not long left. I still think most business will be done in the summer.

Louis Britton from Mangotsfield beats them all ?

A centre forward with the makings of a decent all-round game. Can hold it up, decent in the air, can run in behind…and can finish. Has 10 goals in the u21s this season. Was 19 in November.
