The third time in recent weeks we’ve come from behind (today, Swansea cup, Coventry) having only done it once all season (Blackpool) up til then. -

Thought Wharton (16) was very classy. For those who watched on RTV / stream, was Tanner hauled over for BBD’s half volley over? Wasn’t sure whether the ref looked like he was mouthing “I’d have given a f-k if he’d scored”??? -

Being good and being entertained don’t necessarily go hand in hand. Can you not see that sometimes teams cancel each other other…and enjoy a different kind of entertainment of watching a bit of a cagey game, seeing where a team might gain a small advantage that breaks the fact that two teams playing 433(ish), will see lots of passing lanes being blocked, hard for either side to get it forward. -
There were a couple of one-touch link-ups with Wells today that looked promising (one offside).

Ta, good spot.
-
Reckon he will get a start next Saturday.

What was good today was that he allowed Tanner to play quite wide today at RB to nullify BBD. He didn’t need Tanner tucked in because Vale didn’t really offer any threat. Not downplaying his performance, but him and Big Rob had a very comfortable afternoon. Surprised Gallagher didn’t come on, guess the red card changed that? He had a good game though, not disputing that at all.

Initially Nige said 2 weeks, then refined it to 2-3 weeks.

Hope we are beyond that now. We shall see!

I know it’s an example you’ve given, but money doesn’t always talk, and it’s more than possible that the wages being offered by one club over another. Plus let’s not forget Burnley’s offer could include a promotion increase, and Bournemouth’s include a relegation Going back to your example, I’d choose Burnley. ??

Is that an LJ link? Do you think LJ will be there in the summer? I think he needs a bit of an upturn in the second half of the season to survive.

That’s a very unbalanced view, just painting a picture of all the negatives. I get he’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but there are a list of positives too. Generally - I think there is far too much focus on “end product”, binary metrics like goals and assists. His game is about so much more than this. But I’ve written these counter arguments so many times. OTIB is full on end-sided arguments, usually on the negative side Massengo - positionally all over the place (could not be our biggest interceptor?) James - a slug, immobile (could he not be positionally aware?) Don’t get me wrong, data doesn’t prove everything, but it highlights a lot of bias / unconscious bias. These are just 2 pics / 16 metrics that show more about what each City Midfielder brings in different areas. I think we miss a lot of what a player brings because we enjoy the negative narrative. I think he’s got good ability, mixed in with poor bits of his game…he’s mixed, he’s inconsistent. He’s twenty-effing-one! ???

Blackpool / Huddersfield postponed. That was a real 6 pointer today. Talking of 6 pointers. -
I thought you were referring to the Anderlecht bit.

This is a spree for him…never got more than 1 per season before. Yep!

It is. What we need to remember is that players can be fully up for it and still play below par. I will be looking forward to reading back this thread later, for the first “his heads not right” comment. I assume it will be after 3pm, but you never know with OTIB!!! In all seriousness I remember watching Baker in the warm-up once and said to the guy next to me…”he looks all over the shop”…was one of those games where he came off on the first half. At the time I wondered whether he might’ve suffered from migraines or similar. Then again I’ve seen Weimann shank every shot in the drills and get a hatrick!! ???
