  1. I was a talker…I can’t get my head around how you can get to this level and be quiet.
  2. Earlier this week it was said might be ok for yesterday, but likely Bournemouth. We shall see.
  3. I was at the HPC yesterday….it was so noticeable how noisy Naismith, James and Williams are (along with Bents). They pass on tonnes of information to their teammates. One of them wasn’t here last season, and the other two started just 6 times together in CM (w4 d1 l1). Reasons to be hopeful. In the second match it was noticeably quieter, Klose the big talker, and cajoler. Very little from anyone else.
  4. The correct answer is: it doesn’t matter because there are plenty of offers to drive him there ourselves ???
  5. Think the term “saps energy” was the term used by Nige. I get the impression he’d been given more than one chance to change and didn’t take it. I’d rather he wasn’t imparting this on the u23s either, but hey-ho.
  6. I believe we are in a situation where we can avoid selling. That’s why we’ve taken the free transfer approach and offloaded O’Dowda and Palmer. When a few contracts are negotiated or potentially moved on because they won’t sign, then everything is sorted.
  7. It’s pretty unlikely Alex Scott will be fit to start v Hull having only had 45 mins so far and being behind the rest. But stranger things have happened.
  8. Gonna keep my old season cards in mine.
  9. Let’s just call it great Googling minds! ??
  10. It was Mr Tinnion that told me! ? Think it was my Googling when he signed that unearthed all his athletics stuff!
  11. According to someone in the club….Tim Ap Sion is the one to watch.
  12. Yesterday Weimann played more alongside Martin with Sykes in the “Weimann role”, but it’s very flexible. Andi can be a bit too attacking, so Sykes in there probably gives us a bit more cover. As it stands, barring injury, I think the front 5 yesterday start v Hull. I wonder whether Nige will go with his Hull XI v Bournemouth or want to keep it up his sleeve? We were bloody good v FGR imho.
  13. IFollow - generic advertising inhouse TV - choose your own advertising ExiledAjax - Athletic, or see Andy Holt on twitter.
  14. The good thing for me is that the pre-season games have been very competitive / feisty, not tippy-tappy affairs. We’ve got 90 minutes into most players already, and I think we are well prepared. All 3 new boys (bar Bajic) have settled really quickly.
  15. James and Williams were v.good today. When both are fit, they are a v.good pairing. Results when the two play together in CM are pretty good. There are probably 9 nailed on starters, a couple of places up for grabs, then the bench.
  16. Young Taylor-Clarke missed the cross at the near post. Should’ve got a head on it. Overall it shows how although you can have 4 or 5 true outfield first teamers (Klose, Wilson, Massengo, Wells and Wilson), when you then play back-up and u23s against a well- drilled, physical side like Exeter, it’s easy for the performance levels to drop. I think a couple of players were a bit shocked by what a promoted Lg2 (now Lg1) team is all about. First 20 mins If it shows them that they haven’t made it yet, then that’s great. Young Araoye stuck at it his task, fair play to him….really grew into it. There are loads of little things I could pick apart, but there was also some good stuff in between too, it is far too easy to just pick out the negatives. It was even more feisty than the FGR game, so another good test. Moving Klose back into the centre so that he could organise either side was a good decision…food for though for Towler re a lg2 loan, who in fairness got himself together in an unfamiliar RCB3 role second half. What did show was our fitness, we finished strongly, even moving to a 433 after we got back it at 2-1, and Scott got on the ball. Exeter showed fatigue, and we got the equaliser. Klose at 2-0 down was demanding a spark from Nahki, demanding that he gave us a bit more, and he did. For me, a very worthwhile pre-season workout.
  17. that was a comprehensive pre-season friendly performance. Played with good tempo, created lots of chances and the new WSM linked really well. FGR played their part, plenty of challenges going in, which I think is what is needed to prepare us for the first game.
  18. Not yet, but they will be on the OS once announced. They never / rarely seems to be much announcement of u23 friendlies, which is what you were getting at. Definitely something club could improve.
  19. Don’t laugh, when I played for Odd Down away at Taunton, my fellow centre back went off on the hour. Was he injured? Nope, he had a rave in London to go to. ???
  20. I hope it’s a fee…but as you state, it’s more likely free plus sell-on, maybe promotion add-on?
  21. Assume like SL, it’s covering losses??? Not sure if it’s £10m + £22.5m or something else.
