  1. Hi, I subscribed a couple of games into last season, so does anyone know when they take the annual sub, is it on anniversary, or will it be before Hull? How do you change your payment card details too? ta
  2. Of course it’s an option. If, big if, should Williams, James, Scott and Massengo all stay fit(ish), where might someone like Tim Iroegbunam of Villa and Scott’s England u19 teammate fit in? That’s the question I can’t answer. We aren’t playing with a typical Defensive Midfielder either. Iroegbunam looks a good player though, I’m sure City have plenty of options on their radar should they need to react.
  3. As Nige has said, incomings with only happen with outgoings. Plus if Kalas and Semenyo are back before the window shuts (or nearing return) then the squad is big enough (caveat - outgoings above and any injuries that occur). Any recruit will be for a reason, we won’t just get a PL loan for the sake of it. A PL loan of the ability required to be better than what we have, e.g. someone like a Keinan Davis, a James Garner, etc, is probably beyond our budget. Others come at risk of not being good enough / value for money, and might just be blocking pathway. Many clubs use the loan market, but each summer they go into the window 4-5 players down…and need to replace them just to tread water. Quite a few people getting excited by Millwall’s recruitment: Looks really smart on paper. It probably is on the pitch too! But… …look who they lost? Afobe (loan) - ah, but they signed him too…so no squad improvement there Jed Wallace - replaced by Flemming…who will do well to match what Jed did…so potentially a weaker signing, despite a £2m outlay. Ballard (loan) - replaced by Cresswell who I don’t think is anywhere near as good as Ballard, who’s gone to Sunderland for £2m squad fillers, Oji, Freeman, Burke, Mahoney, Kieftenbeld, all gone. Honeyman is a good signing. But do I see Millwall stronger than last season? Nope. Same? Just about. So 5 loans returning to their clubs puts summer recruitment under pressure straight away.
  4. Spooky! https://twitter.com/fevsfootball/status/1551273041308618753?s=21&t=2X1SYLs2TtjQpfMdcWR_Gg His niece was in several of my classes at school.
  5. This made me laugh. good twitter account. Theres a great one on goalkeeper drop-kicks.
  6. We need a RCB3 with Kalas out, so if Nige wants to play a back 3, then Idehen or Towler aren’t really viable option, Klose and Vyner are. Both are so left footed. I’m one for seeing how it pans out, although I hope that the influence of Naismith inside him can help.
  7. Agree, that is all true. If I am to take what I’ve seen into game one, is that our PSFs have all been played at a good intensity and feistiness. None of this half-paced, possession-only crap we sometime see. The players seem battle-hardened. Of course it might all been thrown in the air next Saturday, but in terms of preparation, it’s looks like it’s gone pretty well. A couple of observations and also reflections on seeing last year’s plan. training camp is just that…there for training. No games affecting the sessions planned. Getting a full 90s into most players asap the matches start (even in the heat) - 20 players / 18 outfield achieved that, some more than one. Again early days, but Rennie seems as important a signing as a player. I’m looking forward to seeing Euell’s influence too. Think he might afford Nige the opportunity to head upstairs during matches again.
  8. I can’t see a picture of Arvaladze without seeing a slightly squashed head image of Marc Almond and humming Tainted Love in my head ???
  9. Not sure TM has a Jan recall, not reported by either club.
  10. I think much will depend on the timeline for getting Tomas back fit. If he’s just a couple of weeks away then not an issue. Michael Morrison and Michael Hector still without a contract. Incredible the number of left sided CBs we have coming through. Jamie Knight-Lebel is the next RCB in line!!!
  11. Turkish Super Lig isn’t a million miles off a similar level to the championship: But, a very different style of football. You can never tell how their players will adapt. For a time 15-20 years ago I thought Turkish players might transition to English football quite well, but I’m not so sure anymore. We will find out in 7 days time.
  12. https://www.wearehullcity.co.uk/news/2022/july/peterborough-united-3-0-hull-city/ Agent Szmodics with two. Transfer biz:
  13. Referee Andy Davies no less. Nige said the next time he saw him it would be in the park…Bournemouth is pretty tinpot, so about right.
  14. Mental fatigue…catching up as the minutes tick by too might be it.
  15. FWIW Klose has played most all of his career as the right side of a pair in a back four or either CB3 / RCB3 in a back three. He’s played very few times at LCB3 until he came here. In the first two pre-season games I thought he looked fine at RCB3. But I guess we will see at 14:00 next Saturday. If Vyner plays it’s because he’s earned it….and fair play to him if so. Another versatile player should injuries hit…but not long term CB imho.
  16. Nige said he picked it up yesterday, so not down to Exeter kicking him! Nige didn’t seem worried.
  17. That for me is his biggest failing…needs to be more aggressive, both aerially and on the deck. With a talker alongside him like Naismith or Klose we might see less switching off. As @JoeAman08says, he’s cheap cover…at least until we bring in better.
  18. 28 players used. 9 goals 3 conceded 4 wins 2 draws 8 players wearing a City kit for the first time (several more on the bench but not appearing) Top scorer: Tommy Conway 3 goaks Clean Sheets: Daniel Bentley 4, Max O’Leary 1 (as sub) Roll on next Saturday.
