  1. Sunderland make one change, new signing Simms in for Embleton. Patterson Ballard / Batth / Cirkin Gooch / Neil / Evans / Clarke Pritchard Simms / Stewart
  2. Pring is ok now isn’t he?
  3. Out of interest, why do other peoples fish and chips smell nicer than your own?
  4. Yep, amazing weren’t they…especially as we hammered them and lost 1-2.
  5. Post Shot xG is the next data attribute that will become popular, it starts to measure where the ball went from the shot, e.g. better PSxG if shot is into the corner than a dribbling effort straight at the keeper. Might be taking xG a bit too far though,
  6. Seasmiths in Porthtowan, online ordering only in slots, but really nice. The best imho was Lewsey’s in St Agnes by driftwood spars pub. But it closed a couple of years ago. Was owned by Josh Lewsey, the Rugby player.
  7. We love it. As you say, a bit behind the times in some respects but never gets truly busy. Up early tomorrow, taking daughter surfing to earn my Robinstv “pass” for the afternoon!
  8. I’ll be in Frankfurt part of Cornwall. Robinstv for me, but good to know 722 has the radio commentary if internet goes down.
  9. @BS4 on Tour...i recall my Sunday debut for your mob away at Pilning. Big cracks in the pitch, ref wanted to call it off, everyone wanted to play. Ref relented with “don’t blame me if anyone goes down a crack and breaks their ankle”. Which is exactly what our CM did ?
  10. I think most fans quite like Dan Bentley ?
  11. Impressive effort. There will likely be spaces around the ground as season ticket holders will be on holiday, like myself. But at least you might hook some fans tomorrow for more season ticket sales, memberships etc.
  12. On paper, two or three (maybe more) look like upgrades, so I think it is a bit of “progression” expectation. We will see. Need someone to take the goal scoring pressure off of Harrison, so hopefully Hayles will help in that regards. what do you think @shahanshahan?
  13. Just thought I’d add a bit on Sunderland ahead of Saturday (now tomorrow!!), based on 1 game: More direct than City but ponderous with it City didn’t chase a high press, but when they did trigger it they were effective in doing so City built attacks of more than 10 passes (8), Sunderland (3), City built Theres with more tempo Sunderland had 2.4 passes per possession (bottom 6), City 3.2 (12th) They deploy a similar 3412 as us, so unless they set up differently, there shouldn’t be calls for being overloaded in midfield. They play with two “wingers” as wingbacks. Pritchard will play withdrawn from Stewart, who reminds me a bit of John Stead in style. Embleton may play a bit closer to Pritchard and it feel like a 3421-box at times. I think we can suffocate them by playing a high line, and hopefully Dasilva and whoever plays RB can push Gooch and Clarke deep. Our midfield two need to be brave too and one of them (Williams) support our no10 (Sykes / Scott) in blocking balls between the lines. We did it well first half last week...and we can force errors out of Corey Evans. Would not surprise me if Nige uses his subs different this week.
  14. That’s just defeatist because “that’s what happens now”. It takes time to change that culture, but you have to start somewhere. Ask why they lie to the assessor, get to the root cause, maybe something else needs changing. Shame the players / managers as step one. Seems completely the wrong decision to stop trying it…because it appears to have actually showed exactly what you’d want…that the players / managers have no respect. Start there, build trust and respect. I know it’s not easy. But even for Dean Whitestone, typical lack of transparency, he’s reffing in Lg1 this weekend. Is that actually just a policy of one game, you’re out. Maybe that’s the root cause.
  15. Playing devils advocate, to create that type of flexibility, might we have needed a 30-35k stadium and ended up having it half full most games. Swings and roundabouts I guess.
  16. Doesn’t have to be broadcast to all and sundry as a first step…could be just recorded, for use afterwards in appeals, or just relayed to assessor, manager, etc. Baby steps, baby steps. Got to start somewhere.
  17. I totally agree. Mic up the refs. Might stop players and managers abusing them also.
  18. Anyone get pissed off when opposition fans call Bristol a “Rugby town”. Nobody ever says “who are you, Bears or Bath” as their first question, it’s always “City or Rovers”.
  19. Nige now reporting Kalas has a knee injury (wear and tear), which at least backs up what I heard that the groin minor op was ok, but something else.
  20. Yes, this was mentioned after the Yate game the other night.
  21. According to Nige’s pre-match interview yesterday: Pring - has been training, back in contention for Saturday Vyner - ill but took part in a light session yesterday (was missing from training day) Semenyo - making progress Tomas Kalas wasn’t asked about which makes me think he might be in contention this weekend.
