  1. @maxjakstill 20 (21 in July). FWIW here are the members of City’s squad born a year either side of Han. Thought it was good context. Notwithstanding he also cost us €3m so expectations should be higher on the other side of the coin. he has 98 first team appearances for Bristol City, over 100 career appearances.
  2. That is a key thing for me. Would’ve been easy (financially risky) to go to market to plug perceived gaps. But what he’s done is try what he has. Bar a cheap 33 year old CB signed in January, he now knows who can help take us forward and who isn’t up to it.
  3. I’ve really enjoyed in, lots of goals and entertainment.
  4. I appreciate I’m a broken record on this, but I honestly don’t see us taking a points deduction. And based in estimates it would be 1-3 points rather than 6 per se. Nige (the club) has made great strides in reducing the playing budget from last season to this. Sorry!!, And of course RG can talk about “playing budget” and mean more than one thing. Could mean wages, could mean wages plus amortisation, could mean the full cost of running BCFC. For example, wage bill could stay exactly the same, but amortisation might get smoothed over the next 3 season. Taking actuals and rough estimates of amortisation over a period of time: 20/21 - £13m 21/22 - £6.5m (Nige has halved it in one season) 22/23 - £6.5m 23/24 - £1.0m That £6.5m could be spread over 22/23, 23/24, and 24/25 if all of the likes of Kalas, Massengo, Bentley, Dasilva, etc, signed 2 year extensions this summer. It would then look something like this: 20/21 - £13m 21/22 - £6.5m 22/23 - £2.9m (a reduction on projections of £3.6m) 23/24 - £2.8m (increase by £1.8m) 24/25 - £1.8m (increase by £1.8m) That £3.6m reduction might be enough to put us back inside the FFP limits. It really is only 22/23 that is a concern. We just need to get through next season.
  5. As it stands we have 26 established players…several who won’t be here next season anyway.
  6. Mr P - worth reading this: https://www.efl.com/-more/governance/embargoes/embargoes-faqs/ There are different embargoes. The first type, the you are referring to seems to categorise things like clubs in Administration…and brings in the rules you state, like “players of professional standing”. The second type, failing to meet P&S limits, is far less punishing, is related to players 21 and over who’ve played 5 games. There is no way we would’ve played the likes of Idehen if we thought we were gonna be subjected to “professional standing” rules. Stop panicking Capt Mainwaring ???
  7. You can sign a player from another club whenever you like, however the registration only “transfers” when a window is open. Lloyd Kelly transferred to Bournemouth in May.
  8. Forest will be an interesting one to watch over the summer if they don’t go up. They are pretty tight for FFP even this season. Once those loans return, will be interesting to see what happens to Johnson too.

How can you say it was a typical away performance over the past 4 years? Most fans would admit our away form has been our saving grace over that period, and those who travel have generally seen better performances than us who only go to home games (watching away on Robinstv). World Cup break is November. Why the rhetoric of Pearson will get until the World Cup break, like you’ve almost sealed his fate, that it’s going to bad next season? Are you really siding with Ian that Pearson should go. We shouldn’t judge an opposition on how many changes made, you should look at what players were changed, how good they are, etc. it’s not like Corberan brought in 6 kids, all changes were established Championship players, although the keeper is most definitely second choice. Mark called them “replacements”. He brought back in his top-scorer (Ward if you were T aware) as one of those 6. How do you reflect on that? He brought back Daniel Sinani who has made 34 starts and 10 sub apps this season. I don’t expect everyone to have an in-depth knowledge of Huddersfield’s team, but then it devalues comments made that it was a second string team put out. To then move on to Benarous’s ACL and pose the question “unfortunate or symptomatic of the hamstring probability centre” is a pretty poor lead imho. Well done Mark for not falling into the trap. Do we not listen to the pre-match interviews. Ian just went on his own agenda (again) about yellow cards for Scott. So, Scott has got 12 yellows, yet hasn’t been suspended once, so I’d imagine he’s well aware of the suspension rules and the trigger points. Then the comparison of last season to this…total failure to bring any context. Yes, we all want City to do better, but there has to be some balance to the conversation, some challenge to the negativity. It felt like “thank duck we lost, so we can all be doom and gloom again”. I stopped listening at that point. Seemed like a result influenced pod to use as a stick to bash Pearson / City.
  10. I’m not ITK, but I listen to all of Nige’s interviews, this particular bit was him addressing the squad in training on Thursday as part of Robins Uncut 30. Paraphrased he said “this is your penultimate training session, we are back in tomorrow for pre-match prep and then I won’t see you after Saturday”.
  11. They’d have expunged the records, as is the rules…and teams would just get on with it as they have when other teams have suffered that fate. There was enough of the season remaining, more than Lg1 covid ended season.
  12. Fully expect retained list on Monday. Nige has already told the players on Thursday that Saturday will be the last time he will see them…so really no need to delay. They all know their fate / position in Nige’s plans for next season. Whether some under contract try to hang it out is up to them.
  13. I see Cotts and Burt are trying to steal an early march, reports they’ve agreed a fee for Coventry’s Jordan Shipley already. Ideally we’d like early business, but with the early start to the season there is a long period til end of window, then the World Cup to embed (embed further) any late window signings.
  14. Yep, very different for a professional sportsman.
  15. My left knee is coming out in sympathy for you. The right knee that had the ACL done on it is fine, bar the odd bit of fluid from time to time. The left is knackered through over compensating for the right. Bone on bone these days. Ouch.
  16. Thanks, so this bloke on twitter is wrong…and it’s not the first time he’s stated it is fact.
  17. @Curr Avonthat’s the kind of length, but can vary depending on whether it’s just ACL or cartilage too.
  18. Wise sages…what voting rights does Mel have in who buys the club, etc? A guy in this tweet thread, suggests his £125m shares means he can veto any CK deal???
  19. Whatttttt! I expect similar post for pre-season training camps, friendlies, etc. no resting up @Jerseybean, you’ve set the bar now! Thanks for putting the time and effort in this season. ??????
  20. Hate to disappoint you all…but it’s Jamie Knight-Lebel (as in Patti Labelle).
  21. yes, was around November / December time from memory. I think a lot of people think he’s a “unit” but he’s not particularly big, just physical in his game style. No idea re boxing technique.
  22. Yeah, just reporting progress.
