  1. I don’t think it does….just signifies who makes the playoffs. @Lrrr will confirm.
  2. I disagree. We’d love to have had Curtis Davies, Tom Lawrence, Kristian Bielik, Max Bird, Nathan Byrne….they’d all walk into our starting eleven….plus the likes of Kazim-Richards, Knight, Jagielka (pre-transfer), Buchanan, Sibley, Ebosele, Joswiak (pre-transfer), Shinnie (pre-transfer) etc, aren’t bad either. Yes, left in a shit position points wise, but a middle eight squad like ours imho. Easy to think he’s been playing u18s all season…he hasn’t. But he’s done a good job, I just don’t get the sympathy of the squad for a large part of the season.
  3. I think people feel threatened by it. But with all data / statistics stuff, you’ve got to understand how it’s created, it’s context etc, and present it in the right way. In some cases it shows up people’s bias, and they don’t like it. But football is a fluid game and you’ll never be able to be as statistical as say baseball where the same “event” is repeated, e.g. a pitch.
  4. He has done well, but first half of the season he still had a decent squad with some high earners in it.
  5. Mine are made of rice paper.
  6. @Mr Popodopolousthis for you?
  7. Did you play matches with a ball bigger than you?
  8. I blame Florence Nightingale!!! Why her? She was one of the earlier pioneers of using data and presenting in graphical format. She knew that people wouldn’t read 100s of pages of data, so summarised in the charts like the one above. https://thisisstatistics.org/florence-nightingale-the-lady-with-the-data/
  9. This is a duff rumour!!! When I say “duff” I mean Duff
  10. I suspect he had Chris Martin’s anger from Friday in the back of his mind….do I shoot, or do I cross for a tap-in? Semenyo has had a few games of late where he’s been a bit greedy. He got it right last night. Berge cost £20m!!!
  11. Yep, 6 points, plus 6 suspended. I wonder if they have breached any of the conditions?
  12. See above, I was talking about our 3 CBs, not our team as a whole. 352 or more accurately 3412 has some structural weaknesses in the way we play it….in the main.
  13. I disagree ?, but will watch it back though. As a team we might defend space, but I thought the 3 CBs marked men better than they have a lot this season. I’m often critical of 3 marking 1, or worse 3 marking 0…but I felt they marked properly tonight 25 yards and closer. Second half they helped squeeze to near the halfway line which aided us stopping them playing out, and making them go longer. There are times when we don’t shift across the pitch quickly enough and then you might question whether to mark or just take up space. I agree with that part, we do allow that too much as a team….we end up doing more running too!
  14. Thought all three were physical today….wasn’t always easy to get too tight first half as they (Utd) moved it really well in and around the box when they got a man spare.
  15. 18,934….reality was probably 12-13k He’s was doing running pre-game with Vyner.
  16. You wrote this just on h-t. That was my overriding thought at the game at h-t too, just a bit more care over the final / key pass. They were so square at the back, and no pace either. As it transpired, we did improve our quality second half, pinched balls in midfield so we had that little bit extra time to find the right pass….and it made for an entertaining game.
  17. Warnock giving the ref pelters at h-t.
  18. I can’t remember Rogers’s running gait, just his own goals! ?
  19. My MOTM Too. Bodes well for next season. I turned on the radio just as he (Ian) had his called “politely ended” by the BBCRB guy. Carthorses? Klose is a ageing thoroughbred. Atkinson has a strange running gait, but Rennie confirmed he’s one of the quickest at the club. Cundy did pretty well again tonight. The two up top for Sheffield were bloody sharp first half, little one-two’s, dummies and spins, etc. I thought the three coped incredibly well.
  20. He was fouled in the initial challenge, but stayed up, didn’t get it.
