  1. Proper game of football. Competitive, good tempo. Enjoyable.
  2. A defender with commitment on 20 mins saving a certain goal.
  3. Joe’s national chess tournament was split north and south. South Glos is in the north….northern finals were Manchester, southern finals, Reading. Great!
  4. Rowan Vine - ex-Pompei player’s son I’m led to believe.
  5. Barnstaple on a BH Monday (Easter) for Les Phillips Cup semi was a lovely journey, with all that holiday traffic, I can tell you. (got gobbed on by one of their fans as I warmed up)
  6. Back pedal? Still got me stabilisers on ? So i hear….don’t blame him. His dad didn’t have a great time there.
  7. I guess this is why for quite a period back in the day when I was playing WL, there were no Cornish teams in the league. The WL had become quite Bristol-heavy and their travel was too much and one by one, they’d started to drop out. The recent league restructures won’t help Keynsham’s case. I think Brislington were moaning about the make up of the opponents, and wanted to go into the Hellenic? I might not be 100% correct in my facts, but it was something of the ilk.
  8. Just to be clear, I’m not saying it with any authority / knowledge. Hope you’re right.
  9. Yep, there is also the “big name” type too that shouldn’t be dismissed. Allegedly SL asked about Gerrard in the previous summer. Although Joe Jordan came here as a player, there is no doubt, that his stature in the game had a big impact when he became manager. Most definitely not in Pearson Out camp, far from it.
  10. Nah, no tickle….just paranoia from silence I think.
  11. I like Ainsworth too. I also like Paul Warne. Neither are massively young, both are 48. Of the younger bunch, I like Duff. Liam Manning has a lot of fans.
  12. Just taking their stadium costs out of the calculation. Not sure if right or not.
  13. All very valid comments, some of which I agree with. As I said, it just wouldn’t surprise me, he’s “very out there” in the media at the mo’, and I could see SL picking up on that.
  14. Maybe, but I’d be prepared to see LJ in action under RG. We can then judge him without excuse. At the end of the day, I’ll back any City manager, I’ll praise and criticise objectively as I see fit. Whoever is in charge needs support, the right set up, professionals, etc to succeed. Mark Ashton was not a good fit (polite).
  15. Nobody, just viewing from afar, and the silence is deafening. That’s what gets me. No contract stuff, whether senior or academy players, yet we know academy players have heard their fate. It feels like “get as many season tickets sold before an announcement”. I hope it’s just all in my head….i think we need at least another season of Pearson, it’s taking longer than I thought. (…..and I like a bit of a conspiracy theory. ?)
  16. Not easy to articulate, just a combo of things that might all add up. I think SL will react, they’ll have a disagreement and Nige will tell him some more home truths and tell him “I’m off, I don’t need this shit”. He’ll leave honourably, with no pay off and enjoy his health. And it would not surprise me if Lee Johnson takes us into next season.
  17. BBC running with it this morning too.
  18. I’d assumed Fulham would be well clear until I started plugging their numbers in last week. Their losses even with PPs are incredible. I guess we could’ve guessed things weren’t great by looking at the Wilson deal, £12m fee, but only if they get promoted and done as a loan this season.
  19. No idea whether true or not:
  20. https://dataviz.theanalyst.com/season-reviews/2021/?competition_id=10&season_id=2021
  21. Would need a colossal loss this season to be in FFP danger. I took the £13m off of the covid allowances to save re-hashing the xls.
