  1. They will have no FFP issues based on football club accounts.
  2. I’ve never known it so quiet. New Hummel deal, season tickets on sale….pretty much silence. Maybe they’ve appointed @And Its Smithinto the media team ??? ??????
  3. I feel similar. SL has become mute (and tone deaf at the same time), his Chairman son talks like a fan, not a Chairman. As HMHB sang: ”the girlfriend looks like Peggy Mount, what am I supposed to doooooo” ”I’m up the creek, let alone a paddle, I haven’t even got a canoe” Okay, a bit dramatic, but it doesn’t feel great at all.
  4. Yeah, doesn’t feel like blind panic when they had him “on trial” for 2/3 months before committing to 3 years.
  5. Yep, agree a good post. I’m happy to stomach another season like this, many aren’t, as is our choice. At the end of 22/23 we should no longer have any player here who isn’t wanted here. FFP won’t be an issue, and then we hopefully see the growth from the foundations laid. It might happen next season, but we need to get this summer out of the way first, and see where we are. But we can’t afford to go down. If our board (I mean owner really) can’t stomach it or doesn’t like a bit of “feedback” from Pearson, they should act now, but I’d seriously question why they chose him in the first place? Maybe the truth hurts? I do feel like SL has lost his appetite anyway. The sooner he finds new investors the better. Footnote: I’m resigning myself to Pearson not being here in August
  6. I imagine stopping football fans parking! Which doesn’t feel like a parking scheme to me?
  7. Do either have multiple logins? I logged in as Joe (the season card holder - but u19), wouldn’t let me buy, so logged in as myself (cared) and it worked fine.
  8. Yep, often it’s what’s happening in front of them though that can be the problem. At the start of the season I thought we were hard to break down, but lacked much flair. Had Semenyo been available then, might things have been different? I dunno, but it would’ve allowed us to not flog Martin. Ah well, 6 games to go then a summer of hope and expectation as well as worries and concerns in equal measure. That’s what following Bristol City is like. Just renewed my season ticket. Arghhhh!
  9. Just imagine there was a big car park just along the way that was available?
  10. Re Roofe…just the profile I like. At a big club (West Brom), couple of loans, started to build his game back up at Oxford…shows good character in a lot of cases. Likewise to Nogger too.
  11. Think it’s worth waiting to see what the squad looks like at the start of next season before setting your stall out. We still have costs still to cut, we have high earners who it won’t be easy to move on. If we can shift the right players and recruit smartly, then I agree…but that’s a huge “if” sitting here today.
  12. I can only guess it’s all PAYE and taxed the same, but I’m no payroll expert.
  13. I would like to ask Pearson whether had he had Semenyo available all season whether he’d have persisted with a 442(ish) system. I would use these last 6 games to go back to a back 4. I think we have enough options in midfield with Williams (fit for Saturday?) and James back, supported by Massengo and Scott to revert. Although we got men behind the ball on Saturday, we still had the issue of Solanke occupying 3 CBs (my big bug bear), and then runners not being tracked off the back of the midfielders. I think we would have defended the pitch better with 2 banks of 4: Dasilva / Klose / Atkinson / Pring Weimann / James / Massengo / Scott than Cundy / Klose / Atkinson Dasilva Pring Weimann / James / Scott with Wells helping out It meant Weimann dropping out of his no10 position to defend RM3, and meant a big change in shape as we tried to transition.
  14. Depends who he went to. My guess is that for several sides £3k would be a good wage. But if it was Ipswich or the like, it would be low.
  15. He played as the focal point in his first season for the opening set of games when Diedhiou was suspended and scored 5 in 5 iirc. Had Pato off of him first few then Taylor for a couple. I think Weimann is best playing central, whether that’s as the main striker, a secondary striker, a no10 or an “eight”. He’s been less effective playing wide in the main. JonDolman (who seems to have left OTIB - hope you’re ok Jon is you’re having a peek? Would agree with me.
  16. If only we’d taken Roofe from Oxford rather than O’Dowda ?
  17. Re Baker, I read some stuff last week that impairments / losses due to permanent injury / retirement can be offset against FFP.
  18. When you put it like that, it makes you wonder whether he might walk at some point.
  19. Mine is a simple - Liverpool - Dalglish replaced Keegan, he came from Celtic, so as simple as that. The first game of football on TV I watched was Liverpool v West Germany. Well it was Borussia Mönchengladbach, but as a 6, almost 7 year old, how was I to know! I have lots of stupid little affinities with many teams….but if City play them that goes out of the window.
  20. They misquoted him. He said he didn’t work in the Recruitment Team - he did not say that he wasn’t involved in the recruitment process. He most certainly is.
  21. Missed her pace in recent weeks. Think we’ve missed Kuyken’s passing too. Harrison has been feeding off scraps.
  22. My guess - a 1 yr + 1 yr option at around £3k p.w.
