I would say that the chances of it happening at least once this season were a lot shorter than that. We have 2 opportunities to play shuff u at 100% likelihood, on each of those opportunities there would be a 1/23 chance of rovers and wednesday also playing so 1/23 + 1/23 so I make it a 2/23 or 1/11.5 probability. This ignores international weekends and weekends when the fixtures don't allign. It's probably more a case that rovers are rarely at a similar level so it doesn't occur.

On a different topic, I heard that joey had some afters in the tunnel after the game with the officials and was shown a red card so should face a touchline ban. Not entirely sure on how accurate as it was relayed 2nd hand to me.

To calculate the chances of getting, a specific, 1/23 in one set & 1/23 in another set, you multiply the two.

On the Blades forum someone posted that this was the first time the Sheffield teams had played Bristol'steam on the same day. Any stattos know different?

As the Sheffield Supertram goes as far as Rotherham how about R'ham and Weds or Utd on the same day?

1/23 chance of getting Sheff Utd at x date, they also have a 1/23 chance of getting Wednesday, both at the same time is (1/23)*(1/23) = 1/529

I'm sure you could add two games a season + different divisions + more variables for a better average, but that seems somewhat accurate

I don’t understand why anybody thinks that should be given as handball. Yes it hits his arm, but it’s clearly totally accidental with no intent or even recklessness involved. He tries to head the ball, he doesn’t put his arm up in any way to try to stop the ball.

Agreed the rules are a mess, but to my mind they are written to identify where there is an element of intent, without specifying it.

I agree in standard common sense it isn’t, but when you see it given x amount of times, and then it isn’t.. as we all know, a major problem with consistency.

Anyone watching this? Poor game, from what I’ve seen of it. Not much quality on show from either side. You’d expect Cardiff to be underwhelming, but SU look very ordinary. Not the first time this season I’ve seen them and thought they are over-achieving. On this evidence, I would fancy us to give them something to think about.

I do find posts like this amusing. They are 2nd in the league. They are far from ordinary.

It’s odd because they’re not, but I do agree whenever I’ve seen them I’ve thought how on earth are they where they are(?) it just goes to show pretty/fast football isn’t the be all and end all.

  5. Always been in the bottom tier but went in the top tier in a cup game a few years ago (Jack Hunt goal from outside the box, lost 7-8 on pens). As has been said, awful view, can’t even see the near side goal.

That is possibly the most insulting generalisation in a reply for a long time

I wonder what age bracket you would class yourself as, just so we all know that is the only age bracket we should acknowledge has a decent IQ

I was generalising the young 'ultra' football fans, which I stand by, as a generalisation. I'm 28. I don’t know why you’d assume my age bracket is what I think is a decent IQ though.

It was Mansfield fans singing pro-City songs to wind up the already stressed out Gasheads as the clock ticked down. This was confirmed on their own forum.

Of course idiotic Gasheads can’t grasp the fact that they aren’t as loved and respected by everyone as they think they are.

Even if City fans were in the away end then so what? Rovers fans were happy to boast that they were in with Brum fans at AG the year before when we got relegated.

I remember a few were in with Brum fans the day Brum survived (with a flag), it wasn’t even mathematically possible we could go down, weird lot.

I've been looking at transport options from London up to Watford on Saturday.  It looks to me like the rail option from Euston to Watford has a bus replacement service in operation all day.

Obviously we can use the metropolitan line underground but it takes around 40 minutes.

Bud replacement is Watford junction to Watford high street. Just get off watford junction and walk 20 mins to ground with plenty of pubs on route

Fastest way is walking from Watford Junction anyway unless you really time the bus well

Barry Bannan is widely regarded as the best player in L1 (and by some distance) and should win. I can understand Johnson Clarke-Harris being on the list for his goals but Aaron Collins? How does he get in above Conor Chaplin to name just one.

Jason Knight, Ronnie Edwards, Shola Shoretire, Max Bird, Connor Chaplin, Luke Mbete, Mads Juel Andersen, Louie Sibley, just off of the top of my head, and all on the right side of 23 let alone 33!
