He can play along the front Mbappe. Will be interesting to see how they solve thst one- he wants to play for Real Madrid who in turn vastly want him.

He can, but at least very recently, publicly said he definitively wants to play on the left. It doesn’t seem to make sense with Jr there currently, but what do I know, I’m sure they must have a plan.. although with Ancelotti close to the boot, who knows?

edit: to add further, and somewhat public opinion, but Madrid seem to be a squad of superstars, rather than a team, so maybe they’re just buying as much quality as possible, without thought for roles(?)

You mean being part of the rebuild of a team who only last won the champions league a year ago and has the most wins of the competition in history? He is young enough to live through a number of great squads/eras with Real. I don’t see how it can’t be considered good from a footballing perspective.

Bloody lucky to win it though, was absolutely shocked. Additionally, although they did win, most of the squad are on their last legs, at least at the most elite level. I’d argue only a handful of current players can continue for the mid, even short term future, let alone long.

Real Madrid still rebuilding . They need a couple of key additions still, their midfield seems in place for the future- if they add Mbappe that is suddenly a game changer. He's been linked for a couple of years but could happen this summer.

I don’t understand the Mbappe stuff, Vinny & Mbappe love to sit on the left

There's a lot - a hell of a lot - to criticise Barton for but I actually thought that interview was unusually self-aware and open for a manager. Essentially "if I'm not good enough to get a team promoted out of League One and established in the Championship within three seasons, I need to accept I'm probably never going to manage at the level I want to". Bristol Rovers is a strange horse to strap yourself to in that scenario but it's quite unusual for a manager to say that they're getting the support they need to succeed and it is on themselves if they fail to take it. Certainly haven't had that with some of our previous managers and you can compare and contrast with Nathan Jones' "everyone's fault but mine" interview earlier in the week.

I must agree, although I think this is highly rare, as Barton usually spouts..

”There’s no excuses today.. the ref was their 12th man”

”There’s no excuses today.. they kicked us off the pitch”

    ”There’s no excuses today.. etcétéra”

See this is something I never really understood.
Let’s say West Brom vs Sunderland attracts an viewership of 100,000, whilst Rotherham vs Wigan only attracts 10,000.

Ok fine. There’s 90,000 less people watching it.

    But….

Those 90,000 people who didn’t watch it are STILL paying their subscription.
I doubt 90,000 people cancelled their Sky package because they had to watch Rotherham v Wigan instead.

So ultimately, regardless of the viewing figures, Sky have still banked the same amount of money from the subscribers.

Apparently Sky showed 138 EFL matches this season.
In my opinion, and to ensure more equity in the money given to clubs, they should be obliged to show every team 5 times between August and February. And then from March onwards they can select games with jeopardy at either top or bottom (ie games with something riding on it).

But that’s 90,000 people that’ll consider not renewing next year as they aren’t on that often

Are you suggesting that ITV have control over the police for football kick off times?

I think it’s more likely that ITV have control over the kick off time for the horse racing & the police moved them both to the same time, resulting in ITV having to make a *insert horse pun* change.

No chance is that a pen. De Bruyne kicked his foot!

Because he was about to kick the ball!

Arsenal could have had no complaints if it was given.

If Partey is sliding there and the same thing happens, he doesn’t get the ball and De Bruyne kicks Parteys thigh/leg, it’s 100% a penalty given.

I think the only reason it isn’t is because Partey was ‘shielding’ the ball, ie De Bruyne would no longer be classed as being in control, but he was, and he could’ve got a shot off too.

    Penalty every time for me.

  8. Reynolds is a hyper successful person, business, marketing, acting, etc etc. Some people are just highly highly successful and nail everything they do, he’s one of those people. Don’t get me wrong, he’s set himself up with a good gig for success, but that’s part of the planning. Done a great job and every credit to them.

  9. Just a reminder for the 3rd year in a row, you’ll get charged if you don’t cancel your subscription over the summer. The email I sent re charges last summer if that helps anyone with getting a refund.

I would like to request a refund for the charges incurred during this time.

I would appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and hope for a swift resolution. Please contact me at the earliest regarding the refund process.
