Sorry to be pedantic the meeting this Wednesday is the sub committee meeting with the club rather than the SC&T meeting

It would be useful to get an idea of numbers on here if you would like me to raise it on Wednesday?

Thanks Phantom. You're not being pedantic at all. I obviously misunderstood from a previous thread what you'll be up to on Wednesday.

Needless to say, others are now saying they haven't had a promised refund.

I can gladly pm you the emails from AMG confirming we would be getting a refund. I didn't want to make the sender's name public.

  2. For those that haven't read all 91 whoops 92 pages (hello Phantom,) here is a summary....

BCFC are now having all their shirts made in China and available through another website. You get a free pie with every order plus free entry to SC&T meetings courtesy of Zoom.

The 3rd kit known as Splat is now the second kit. The away kit will be released in September together with a dvd on neck exercises. This will help the wearer either expand or contract their neck muscles for a proper fit.

Many people can personally vouch for the poor/good quality of the kit even though they haven't actually felt one in the shop let alone wear it.

Some people have bought the new O'Neills shirt but their opinions don't count.

Posters have also done their own private polls where the results show everybody hates it and isn't a patch on other manufacturers especially Castore, who nobody had heard of 8 years ago as they didn't exist.

I see O'Neills products every day here in Norn Iron where they are made. They look good and are good, apart from BCFC products obviously and don't let's talk about their t-shirt range especially if it is Blue. But me? I'm just a lawnmower, you can tell me by the way I walk.

As an aside, am I just being ignorant or have Castore seemingly come out of nowhere? I'd never noticed them before but now they seem to be everywhere, is it a rebranding of an existing firm?

I've explained in previous posts here Ian that Castore wasn't a thing until around 2015 ish.

A couple of under 30s sporting brothers wanted to get into sportswear. Because of a financial background their connections obviously helped. They have significant backing.

A shrewd move to get a major team to wear their clothing must've helped despite the obvious cost. Just like Admiral who went for Leeds in the early 70s which took their sportswear to another level, so did Castore with Rangers plus other non- football teams.

Who made/make Castore clothing? Don't know.....maybe O'Neills under licence! Now that would be funny.

  4. Related: The Tourist season 2 reveals first-look at returning Jamie Dornan

Discussing their new show following its announcement last year, the Williamses said in a joint statement: "We loved making The Tourist and Boat Story picks up where that left off — tonally, at least.

"It's a morality tale and a thriller and other things that make it hard to define even though we seem to be attempting to define it. It's full of vulnerable, messed-up and eccentric characters, and we've cast some of our favourite actors to play them.

"We are excited to bring this to life along with our fellow directors."

I think the casual fan has little appreciation of the costs of running a football club, and that unless you’re in the PL turning an operating profit is a pipe-dream for most clubs.  The only way to balance the books is to sell players.*

The extent of losses is down to how far clubs are pushing things.  You’d have thought Covid would’ve taught them a lesson.  Nope.

*the only exception is if you're Bristol City and have a £25 million rated player!

    Fixed it for you Dave.

Not sure I'm comfortable with the association with the people's rebublic of stokes croft. But this isn't the place to discuss that.

But as far as the kit goes. The quality looks absolutely fine.

Hopefully our away kit will also be released and be of similar quality.

I can see it now. Our new away kit is purple with green dots, in a similar style and position but resembling a Robin ( a vertical Splat or modern badge thing)!

I think the Robin means everything initially was fine, no problem, no need to fix anything.

We're waiting on the Splat Robin.

Apologies. I was trying to be topical/humorous regarding the 'annoyance' that many feel towards the Splat Robin.

I've always thought the Robin was awarded as the OTIB version of a Blue Peter badge. A post that shows a person's thought or deed to be worthy of praise, would get a Robin. It could be about the poster or about their subject matter eg a player doing something positive out of normal office hours.

However, and this is where the OP has a genuine point, should it be necessary to count how many Robins have been awarded to individuals. It would mean that a Robin, for a positive player story, would go to the poster on countback.

I think the ‘thanks’ emoji is one of the least sarcastic emojis, up there with the Robin (don’t know what it means tbh?).

    That ******* ‘hmm’ emoji tho….

I think the Robin means everything initially was fine, no problem, no need to fix anything.

We're waiting on the Splat Robin.

Thanks PB for this thread. If I ever get a chance to visit NYC again, my mission will be to track down the plaque!

I know there are other City fans living in NYC. Perhaps they could find out if the plaque is still there?

Mark Felton is always a good watch.

He is indeed. Even his homage to the greatest war film ever made is good. What do you mean Where Eagles Dare isn't true? Dont let fact get in the way!

I'm particularly enjoying his current mini-series on the deaths of Mr and Mrs Hitler and the evidence to suggest it might not have been their bodies that were burned. Will Mark reveal that Hitler did indeed move to Argentina (or maybe not as the history books tell us)?

  11. Hi Sarumred (Salisbury?)

Occasionally this happens to me if I accidentally already opened it on my phone and then open it again. Closing previous tabs then gets it rectified. If this still doesn't work, do a cache clearance in your Google settings.

  12. As a former radio presenter and training officer specialising in interview techniques (and now podcaster) what I liked was how Sheridan seemed more measured and relaxed in her commentary style. Like we would all be in our first few months of commentating,  Sheridan has lost that high treble excitedness and relied instead of using decent words to paint the action on the pitch.

She clearly demonstrated to me that she loves the game and knew her stuff about our players (and theirs). Sheridan also kept her opinions to a minimum as opposed to others who think they've played at the highest level and know more about the game than say Gary Owers.

If you're reading this Sheridan, well done. Hope to hear you again soon when BCFC are playing.
