And I hate to make it worse for him, but Wembley only counts as one- it was a rebuild not a new stadium.

You sure Miah? iirc the pitch etc has been turned 90 degrees. Consequently I'd say that's a new stadium.

  2. 74 grounds with City. 44 that are still in use though. Most of my grounds were from 1981 onwards (hello Slarti) so missed out on the old First Division ones.

Most obscure? Fisher Athletic (FA Cup when City fans were banned from getting tickets unless you knew Beryl!) and Backwell United (John Shaw testimonial).

Living over here in Norn Iron is a bit more problematic. However, I got to Sunderland last season for our first penalty this century. I will be at Boro in February as well.

She has inherited his talent too, she teaches High School in New Jersey and they regularly win singing competitions. She also sings opera and plays multiple instruments.

But most importantly she's a City fan and if not, why not?

Teneous connection for me. My nephew's wife is the daughter of the drummer in the Four Seasons. 🙂

Gerry Polci Who sang Silver Star and was the lead vocal on December I963? Wow!

What a drummer, what a voice.

That’s an interesting question. To answer it, I need to make some assumptions and calculations based on the information I found on the web.

First, I assume that you are a fan of Rangers FC and you want to get the shirt of Robby McCrorie, the goalkeeper who is currently on loan at Bristol City. I also assume that you will be attending the EFL Championship match between Bristol City and QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday, 25 November 2023.

Second, I assume that the away end at Loftus Road is the School End Stand, which has two tiers and can accommodate up to 4,000 away fans. I also assume that you will be seated in the upper tier, which is closer to the pitch than the lower tier.

Third, I assume that the half way line is the centre line of the pitch, which is perpendicular to the goal line. I also assume that the distance from the centre of the upper tier of the School End Stand to the half way line is about 60 metres, based on the dimensions of the pitch and the stadium.

Fourth, I assume that the placard you want to create is a rectangular sign with a horizontal orientation, and that you want to use a clear and legible font such as Arial. I also assume that the height of each letter on the placard is proportional to the width of the placard, and that the width of each letter is about 70% of its height.

Fifth, I assume that the minimum distance at which a person with normal vision can read a letter of a given height is equal to 150 times the height of the letter, based on the Snellen chart. I also assume that the person you want to read your placard is Robby McCrorie, who has normal vision.

Based on these assumptions, I can calculate the minimum size of the placard that can be read from the half way line as follows:

    • The placard has 28 letters, including spaces, and the phrase “McCrorie can I have your shirt”.
    • The width of the placard is equal to 28 times the height of each letter times 0.7, plus some margin for spacing and framing.
    • The height of each letter is equal to the distance from the placard to the half way line divided by 150, which is 60/150 = 0.4 metres.
    • Therefore, the width of the placard is equal to 28 x 0.4 x 0.7 + 0.2 = 6.76 metres, where 0.2 metres is the margin.
    • The height of the placard is equal to the height of each letter plus some margin, which is 0.4 + 0.1 = 0.5 metres, where 0.1 metres is the margin.

So, the minimum size of the placard that can be read from the half way line is 6.76 metres by 0.5 metres. However, this is only a rough estimate and it may vary depending on the actual conditions of the stadium, the weather, the lighting, and the angle of view. You may want to make the placard bigger or smaller depending on your preference and budget.

I hope this helps you with your placard project. Good luck and enjoy the match! 😊

Please also add the word Please after Shirt on the placard. Robby McCrorie loves politeness as he was born in Balamory.

By adding Please will mean a lot to Robby. Robby McCrorie from Balamory - isn't he good to know.

I gave up on this when the story was that Frank had cancelled golf today to be interviewed. Golf. In 80 mph winds. Right.

It's lovely today here in Norn Iron. Blue sky, 12 degrees and no wind at all on our golf course which is on the coast. His wife Christine (from Northern Ireland if people didn't know/care) might have suggested to play here today. If only I was close enough to Belfast International, I could tell you if they had been spotted...and had nothing else to do!

Yes, it is possible that the thread was generated by AI. AI language models are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and they are now able to generate text that is very similar to human-written text. However, there are still some telltale signs that can indicate that a piece of text was generated by AI.

One sign is that the text may be grammatically correct but semantically nonsensical. This is because AI language models are trained on massive datasets of text, but they do not have the same understanding of the meaning of words as humans do. As a result, they may be able to string together words and phrases in a grammatically correct way, but the overall meaning of the text may not make sense.

Another sign is that the text may be repetitive or formulaic. This is because AI language models are often trained on a specific type of text, such as news articles or code. As a result, they may learn to generate text that is similar to the text they were trained on. This can lead to repetitive or formulaic text, especially when the AI language model is asked to generate text on a topic that it is not familiar with.

Finally, AI language models may have difficulty generating text that is creative or original. This is because AI language models are trained on a dataset of existing text, and they do not have the ability to come up with new ideas or concepts. As a result, AI-generated text may often be derivative or unoriginal.

In the case of the thread you mentioned, there are a few things that make me think that it may have been generated by AI. First, the text is grammatically correct, but it is a bit repetitive and formulaic. Second, the text does not seem to be particularly creative or original. Third, the text does not seem to have a clear point or purpose.

Overall, I think it is possible that the thread was generated by AI. However, it is also possible that it was written by a human who is not a very good writer. It is difficult to say for sure without more information.

Wait till AI can imitate Fev and his diagramsand stats. I can't understand them in the first place so hopefully AI will do a Janet and John version!
