  1. We have been here so many times in recent years. The turnover in managers hasn’t provided the sustained improvement we have all been hankering after. Not really a surprise to those of us who have been consistent in saying that the problem lies with SL and the dreadful BS.
  2. Maybe the question is will NP be given the resources to make that improvement.
  3. Yes, I think it is an easy choice. Scott on his own won’t alter our end of season position much but three new players just might.
  4. Too early to panic but if we only bring in three fresh faces to a side that was fortunate not to be relegated, and two of the three are from lower divisions, then one must expect this season to be as up and down as last. We are three championship or above level of players short of a picnic. However, poor Nige must continue to speak positively as he attempts to make silk purses out of sows’ ears.
  5. Oh dear, been here too many times in recent seasons
  6. Shocking decision. We need better refs in Championship or even, publish not in Gath, var.
  7. Here we go.Hang on could be a rough ride this season. COYR
  8. Fine planning by NP - same team, and presumably tactics, as against Bournemouth. Good call, imo.
  9. Nige’s interview is spot on imo. He is the first manager in a long time to have sussed out that what has been wrong has been the club’s culture. That is what has held us back and explains why some excellent players we recruited never managed to take the side with them. NP is also spot on re loans. I like the honesty, without spin, that NP delivers. More strength to his elbow. Good luck to him, his coaches, and players for the new season. We may not make play offs but it will be an interesting and positive season nonetheless. COYR
  10. I like the way Nige has gone about this pre season, both in squad terms and football terms.
  11. Meaningless. A player is worth what another club is prepared to pay, maybe lower than expected or maybe higher; higher especially if there is competition for his signature.
  12. Is this our best discovery since Big John? I am beginning to think it is Hope he stays for his own sake. Nige will keep his feet firmly on the ground - well obviously not when he is in the opposition’s penalty box! Could we dream that this is the quality player we have waited for for so long, the one that will take us up? I really think he might be.
  13. Believe in Nige. Slowly but surely he is turning this club around. There will be tribulations along the way but if anyone can deliver the promised land I believe it is Nige.
  14. These things happen in football and therefore can be dealt with, especially as we haven’t even entered pre season, ie 1 time to sign a forward or a loan to Xmas 2 time to adjust tactics and team selection 3 time to give Bell, Conway a real chance to shine.Else why did we keep them? 4 time to use existing player in a forward position, eg Scott Trust in Nige. He has been here many times before and is not the sort of manager, imo, not to have Plans B to D.
  15. Very poor by England. Perhaps only defence is that the players have played too much football On the evidence of tonight there is no plan B and the lack of ball skills in English game is exposed again at international stage.
  16. Don’t know what you mean. It is OUR traditional kit when we fielded a team of great quality and we were promoted. Too few of us seniors around who have lived thro a great deal of City’s history. In my case, counting departed family members, we supported City before we became City. What is genuine tradition for some is novel to others I love this kit. Memories of Milton charging down the wing and crossing to Atyeo provided some of my best moments supporting City as a child.
  17. White, as it always was in the past
  18. When last worn we had a great promotion side includingArthur Milton, arguably the greatest winger to play for us. It is this double international in football and cricket that I remember most in this kit Did we choose this kit because Milton ended his career with us after playing for Arsenal? Happy memories of oldAshton Gate.
  19. At last, at last. The return of this great kit. I have been waiting decades for its return. Well done City. All I want now is the blue kit as an away kit, based on our Cup Final kit. The new/old kit is great. Now all we need is to find a new John Atyeo to wear it !
  20. More likely both are part of the same phenomenon; a lack of consideration for others. Sad on both counts, some football fans, and rather too many politicians
  21. Put repeat performers in goal mouth before start of each match as City forwards line up for shooting practice. They may not get hit but it will be a humbling experience in front of the crowd nevertheless
