  1. Well done City. Three points today would be. Great step towards safety
  2. Oh dear sounds poor. I really thought they would be well up for this. Perhaps second half. Always believe. COYR
  3. Better to regroup mid table in league 1 or struggle again at bottom of Championship? I know which would give supporters something to cheer and give realistic hopes of promotion. Only once in my over 70 years of following City have we ever been promoted from Championship level. If my father, lifelong City supporter, were alive today he would be 105, and would still only have seen one promotion! How will we ever get back to the Wedlock days when we competed at top level and reached FA Cup Final? To do this we need a whole new mindset. I still believe NP has that mindset.
  4. He’s now definitely one of our own . Come on the Austrian Robin!
  5. Wouldn’t want NP’s job. Extremely tricky and also dependent on bids coming in, offers to existing players accepted, and our bids not being gazumped. Then there is the problem of injury prone players and players staying who don’t want to be here Add an owner putting his oar in. But wouldn’t want anyone other than a tough and intelligent guy like NP in charge In Nige I trust
  6. As NP said when he first came, there is no quick fix. Given some recent performances I think a draw with WBA is creditable. Thought we would lose. If the club stick by NP and listen to him we might just be able in two seasons time to look a bit more like the real deal. But will Pearson be listened to and his advice taken? That is the big question
  7. COYR You can deliver a victory here if you keep your heads and take your chances
  8. Hope for good solid win today, and the Nige whingers silenced COYR
  9. What about the great Dermot Curtis. First name on the list for me. Only City player I have seen score a goal direct from a corner, at the oldEast End
  10. At which point we would be deep in the proverbial. And again going into the future with no decent plan
  11. Please read my entire piece to see that I also have no problems with entrepreneurs making profit. No problem in you taking opposite view to mine, but please criticise what I have said and not what you think I said Many thanks.
  12. I believe NP may be our last chance of holding on to the identity and integrity of the club. Trust Nige,
  13. The news that SL wishes to build a new suburb around Ashton Gate clarifies two things, imo 1. City are a very small part of SL’s long term plan 2. He is not quite the Great Benefactor some City fans believe him to be, he is an entrepreneur seeking to maximise profit for himself. I don’t have any objection to that as an aim, but I do have an objection that his imperial dream has never been open, and City fans being used as dupes. First we got BS and now this new plan. Perhaps we might now be told the ultimate end game? A rebranding of Bristol into Lansdown City perhaps!
  14. Hope you are right but I fear we shall be relegated in next few years. Certainly in my opinion under present ownership no chance of promotion. our player policy will again be shown to fail this summer as we sell our young talented and improving players to be replaced by has beens and a new younger talented tranche from Academy
  15. We are where we are, and I don’t like it. Reconciled to League 1 in next three seasons, but hopefully with NP still here. This is a major major blip in our history and I can’t see anyone better than NP to solve it over time
  16. I for one don’t appreciate his legacy. He has failed in his stated football objectives, and he has lumbered us with BS. I am not interested on Bristol Tiddlywinks or whatever he’s got lined up next for his empire. I am focussed as always on Bristol City
  17. Great comment, and oh so true
  18. maybe the only reason we have got into a dark place financially is down to mismanagement by SL in the first place Plus there will always be a buyer
  19. You don’t know with a good owner we would be in League 2. The owner selected the managers with no proper procedures in place. The owner has damaged the club by his personal obsession with Bristol Sport The owner interfered, eg signing of James, the worst goalie I have seen in a City shirt in my over 70 years of supporting From certain comments from LJ and Cotts we know there have been problems SL needs to go so the club can reset and really aim for top division
  20. Would a younger, much younger, Otiber leave a note on my grave when we next win two on the trot at this level?
  21. Nothing will fundamentally change until the owner goes How many more decades of failure on the pitch and poor admin off it?
  22. I have come to the conclusion that I must have done something really bad in a previous life to be reborn as a City fan
