I am so pleased we have NP as I am sure he is far more savvy than most managers we have had in recent past. Plus he is big enough to standup to SL, let alone our non functioning Chairman. And don’t forget we also have Gould who strikes me as a well rounded person and professional. I think we shall be alright as long as NP sticks with us

I have said it before and I will say it again - Bentley is a Mike Gibson goalie. Brilliant at times but with dreadful mistakes in him. It is why he isn’t in Prem If Max can be consistent I’d stick with him. Guess as he is selected coaches feel the same. Plus good to see a captain in the middle of the field shouting instructions. I believe in Nige!

What alternative universe are you living in? We have little to no money for transfers for some quite considerable time; that is why NP is blooding the youngsters. Sensible policy imo.

Well, he would if he wished to learn from his earlier mistakes. I agree however that he won’t and it is for that reason he will go on failing…….hopefully not for another two decades though ‘ I tell you we are doomed, doomed I say’

I mean a full look at management of the club in terms of what it has achieved against what it promised and the identification of the reasons for this. Included: the role of the owner for good or ill the constraints placed on the manager in terms of selling and buying of players the lack of a strong Board and Chairman in what ways has BS impacted on City relations of Board with fans the appointment procedures for managers and CEOs One could aim to achieve this in an interim audit, followed by a refined set of questions for the final audit, which would include a comparison with clubs of similar stature over the period of SL’s tenure
-
Our model has clearly failed, yet no one is held accountable because there is no accountability in this club or mechanisms to achieve it. We have simply been badly run from top to bottom, but accountability must begin at the top Old beef of mine -we need an independent full audit of the club’s management

It isn’t just that City’s losses are unsustainable but that football itself outside Premier League is fast becoming unsustainable too. Wages do not reflect quality, entertainment or much really. We shall need, imo, to look at new ways of paying players, eg 1. based on appearances 2. based on results We may need to think about part time contracts. John Atyeo wasn’t bad on that answer!! We need to up our scouting in the non leagues. There are real gems there and a good few who would welcome a part time contract

The Promotion XI That We Sold (minus a keeper)
Ivorguy replied to Boston Red's topic in Football Chat
With the exception of Webster, none of them are the quality of player to keep us in top league even were they to have gained us promotion. Some of us remember the side that did take us up and for a few seasons kept us there. Those listed aren’t worthy to lace the boots of the Gows and Cheesleys of this world. -
We desperately need a proper plan, both as regards players and finances. There is little evidence we have either. By the way, it isn’t SL’s club he is merely the temporary custodian. One day he will be gone. A new custodian will arrive, and hopefully be better prepared to take external advice, draw up a feasible plan, and leave the club in due course in a better place than he/she found it

Half season review with Chris Honor and Gregor MacGregor
Ivorguy replied to headhunter's topic in Football Chat
Whether we make any January signings and how much we have to spend is very little to do with Nige. Personally, I would have a problem if Nige left. However, no chance he will unless he walks because of no transfer support. -

I just wish this season was over. There is only just so much we City fans can take. I pity the poor folk who have a season ticket.

They do at Worthing in Isthmian Premier take an accurate account in derby games to ensure numbers are within those legally allowed. Not rocket science just another aspect of modern league football that they CHOOSE to give inflated numbers
