  1. To see him in his glory days was a real privilege. I feel particularly fortunate In his case it is true to say we will never see his like again. My grandfather who saw almost all his home games and also saw Wedlock play said Big John was the greater footballer of the two. Gentleman John, those who saw you play will never cease to miss you. Ashton Gate has never seemed the same to many of us since you stopped playing.
  2. If, as many agree, we are moving in the right direction, then the question is are we moving fast enough to avoid relegation this season or next?
  3. We still are what we have always been in my 70+ years of following City, a League 1 club with occasional stays in Championship. To turn us into a championship club with occasional promotions to Premier remains just a daydream. The club needs a significant gear change in attitudes and management (in widest sense) if we are to alter our profile. As the seasons in the old First Division are mere history for an increasing number they appear a mere blip, however enjoyable they largely were, in our story of mediocrity.
  4. COD. We all know he won’t improve now at this level. Time for the P45. We need two full backs; Can’t expect Tanner to play every game when fit. Vyner will, like COD, never cut it at this level. Dasilva not the same player since injury; Pring probably not the answer. Will King and Simpson ever play for us again? I somehow doubt it. Martin’s last season as a first, possibly even second, string striker. But no money unless we sell one or more of our star trio, and that won’t help the team I truly pity Nige as I can’t see how he can improve the squad for next season with virtually no resources. How the ….. did SL allow it to get to this point?
  5. Is it worth scraping through this season only to face more of the same next season ? We have always offered more entertainment in the third division
  6. As a frequent user of the Fishponds Woolworths I always think that Branch was the archetypal Woolworths. Plastic lemons first bought there which made excellent water pistols. All the airfix models, many missing key parts and then having to face the hatchet faced assistant to ask for a replacement. Stocking up at the stationery counter before a new school term - those tiny pencils with a metal cap; where are they now? And, of course, caps for toy guns and sweets you could afford. Happy memories.
  7. When we do get a penalty, what are the odds that we miss it?
  8. Pring must have driven the coaches mad with that Every supporter knows what he should have done Is he really that thick? If so get rid asap because he will be incapable of learning. He isn’t a kid anymore, just League 1 playing in Championship
  9. Well one step forward two steps back. This is City through and through. When hope comes, disaster soon follows. Tough action required by Nige, such as hit them in the pocket every time they concede in extra time. Not acceptable.
  10. Great.just a few more weeks of this and we can breathe more easily and begin to dream once more. Believe without Nige we would be nowhere near this standard.Take a bow, Sir
  11. Rule 1 in Referees’ handbook for Championship matches: ’On no account, whatever the circumstances, award a penalty toBristol City’.
  12. Because we still, for all the hype, lack a reliable number 9
  13. What complete and utter nonsense In Nige we trust Doubt seriously if any other manager could get us out of the mire that SL and Ashton put us in BCFC’s hope is that over a three year period, whatever division we are in, Nige will have us going in an upward direction, provided St Steve doesn’t interfere of course!
  14. Williams will be a player for us for rest of season, if he keeps fit. Wells must go
  15. Usual football story, if you don’t score when on top you are open to a sucker punch
  16. Like the way City are hard in to win every ball and are chasing everything too. As good as we’ve seen over recent years.
  17. If LJ was new style, measuring grass and changing width of pitch etc, give me old style NP any day of the week. Perhaps the most important attribute of a manager in 2022 is man management. NP meets this criterion, imo, 100%
