    And there's more; http://gaschat.co.uk/thread/13060/lansdown-recurring-thoughts from althepirate;

THIS IS NOT A RUMOUR, I AM NOT IN THE KNOW! I just can't get it out of my mind we are ripe to be bought by Lansdown. He would get the Mem, worth a fortune with planning for houses. We would play at AG eventually so he would save 45 mill on a new stadium. He would persue his desire to own other sporting clubs under Bristol Sport. He has the infrastructure to do this in place already and a pitch for regular use.
I wouldn't be surprised Wael maintaing an interest whoever or if any one takes us over
Perhaps the media will see this and ask him.

    He has been ridiculed mind.

I think the council have got this one wrong, rather than the sags. They've clearly said that they've been liasing for months with them about this but have never warned them about this? The law on temporary structures isn't rocket science  but there are some right dullards working for BCC - And I should know as I used to be one of them! So yeah, not really the sags fault here. Still funny as #### though!!!

As one of their lot said though, if the Gas have been speaking to the wrong planning section then its their fault.

Makes sod all difference though. I've worked for businesses owned by companies with massive market value, but it made no difference to my pay packet, and we had to achieve our margin like every other business they owned.

    Too right.

You could have 10 billion but if you don't want to spend it means jack sh**, and even if you do want to spend it FFP stops small clubs getting bigger and keeps the big boys in their cosy environment.

As for the Al Qadi's they fall into the first category. The runt of their litter has been given loose change and has run out of pocket money.

They won't like such heresy .

I like this one in connection with the new ground. Surely a gurt Ted..

They're now making the capacity at the mem bigger in order to make them feel better.

How are you going to fit 13000 in a stadium that holds 12300 then tomylil?

    Screenshot_20180920-120059.png

Presumably if and when they get success they will be able to extend one of their tents.

Apart from the capacity gaffe actually that poster comes across as scarily realistic tbf...

Was working with a couple of reasonable sags today who are well capable of a decent and balanced discussion about the Bristol clubs...they don’t know each other but both had heard separate rumours about the gas possibly sharing a new stadium with Bath RFC near Saltford...don’t really care but thought I’d mention it as it fits in with part of your thinking...

Predominantly greenbelt, and astronomical prices for development land around Saltford. Perhaps they mean somewhere around Hicks Gate. The obvious question being, what the **** does Bath RFC get out of such an arrangement apart from weekly rent which must be based upon a proportion of match day receipts and the squatters getting nothing by way of non match day revenue. Their owner doesn't need their leveraged contribution towards the build either.

Bath also needs to consider a resurgent Bristol RFC and whether they might be better off consolidating in a 100% Bath area further east because I daresay a move from the city centre would lose them plenty of fans and if they expect to pick up the same or better numbers from Brislington Stockwood etc they should think again.

Totally agree. Bath Rugby have a huge uphill task with their plans. To add a "Football team "would raise opposition still further. I honestly believe that Bath Rugby are in a "no win" situation and  their Chew born and raised owner will have to bite the bullet and pull the club toward an out of town venue that almost certainly wont be toward Bristol. With land prices at a prohibitive price in Bath, my belief is that they'll move to Wiltshire (where much core support lies). The Gas havent got any cash to put into the venture....and that leaves 'em in a very poor situation.

The unfortunate losers in all this are Bath City FC...whose tentative enquiry about selling Twerton Park and playing at The Rec was swiftly rejected

I think a tie up with the University at Claverton might be possible ? They won't want the gas either mind.

"it isn’t banter it’s genuine hate in many cases - apparently they can never forgive us from trying to steal their ground when they were in danger of folding. Constant references to a few of our fans indiscretions as gifts that keep giving big no acceptance or acknowledgment of their own fans constant misbehaviours. Also constant piss taking about gas fans running away from theirs i.e. the infamous Park street fracas which in my book condones violence. No references to their fans on the pitch before the end of the JPT games goading and spitting at players an interfering with play or the 2 derby games where they attacked and chased our players of their pitch. Their match against Newcastle last season and many incidences in their ground with away fans including fighting with their own v Man City. The smashing up of a family birthday party In Nottingham springs to mind - and now their fans trying to take the West Midlands police to court because they are angels and their human rights are breached. How laughable and smug they are in the comments that henbury Gas has brought their club into disrepute when it was suggested by PC Julie they have acknowledged 2 reports of an incident where a fan was attacked but not been able to talk to the victim as yet. However henbury is a pathological liar, paedophilie and needs his shop visited. Very strange and dangerous people in my book."

So who is strange and dangerous City fans or Henbury Gas ?

Defamation, slander, libel (etc..) are all civil matters except in a very few select circumstances (members of the higher echelons of the Royal Family, certain Crown Officers, blah, blah, blah......), so the Police would not be involved. I think we've been here a few (hundred) times......

But... HG made an allegation of an assault and did this is a very public way so the Police (in the form of JulieH) had an obligation to investigate what could have been a criminal matter. Again, I think we've covered this more than a few times.

Can we agree that HG is an irrelevance and stop mentioning him or this alleged incident?

Yeah I bet Julie was obliged to visit to South London to visit the Millwall fan battered by one of her own too after the fact was pointed out by numerous City fans.

Are you a forum policeman ? I think people can raise issues as many times as they wish and its up to other forum members to ignore it if they find it tiresome.

I wasn't aware of Henbury Ass until numerous others mentioned him. Now he's on my rader and personally I like to keep tabs on him as I may have the honour of meeting him some day..

Not too sure how the DPA works in cases such as this

We all knew he was meeting with the police and he was pretty vocal letting all his Gas chums about this

Not sure why Julie can’t say something to let us know that there is categorically nothing for BCFC to concern themselves with and the case is closed, for example

If he was defaming Bristol City and the club didn't want to take it further what was OB doing visiting the cretin ?

Apologies if BCFC did flag the matter to A&SP.

Can we give this a rest? Majority of the 791 pages on this thread is just squashing an insect that’s already dead. Why bother?

I don’t get any satisfaction out of it, hence I never really post in here as it’s a sad place.

Bristol Rugby getting involved on social media too I see? Anybody would think we’ve been above Real Madrid for 18 years.

Screw ‘em . Let them fall out of the league again.

Honestly Lew, ignore the thread mate if it makes you sad.

This. I will go one further. Moron FC are the most irrelevant in World Football.

To be second best to a club, that has bounced between 2nd and 3rd division football, and yet still be worse!!

They are like Port Fail ... But Port Fail I would presume, don't think they have superior "loyal and True" fans  louder than the kop, and feel they are on a  par with Leeds.

Port Vale play in a proper stadium too.

Rovers could only dream of something like this..

As a result of Smiths winner we got roughly 600k in gate reciepts from the 2 Man City games, and some prize money.

So Taylors assist indirectly brought in the best part of 700k.

He was also the difference maker against Stoke and scored our equaliser agaisnt Palace.

He played a huge part in the cup run, and more than brought in the money he cost.

And he has also had bad luck with injuries.

I think you may have somewhat over reacted on this one , it's quite funny, nothing more, nothing less :) If anyone was genuinely upset that 'their woman' or child caught a fleeting glimpse of a scantily clad woman then they should seriously consider moving to a remote island with no access to any kind of nastiness from the outside world.(Cue jokes about nasty football clubs)

    Yep.

I reckon its funny because its typically shambolic of them but as for the moral outrage (even if a bit tongue in cheek)......

Consider RnB videos folks, the performers and content of which the kids absolutely love.

Aren’t they, us and 90 odd% of League clubs, loss making companies..?

Yes mate but that particular loss making company is bankrolled by Bristol ratepayers the majority of which would prefer that sponsorship to go elsewhere.

I think something should be done about this and questions asked of the Mayor.

I see the stand is sponsored by Bristol energy , isn’t that the loss making company ?

    A great match then :)

Owned by the Council aren't they? How does that work then, bearing in mind that most ratepayers who give a shit about local football do not follow those arseholes.

Can we expect similar sponsorship ?

So taxpayers in Bristol have so far given/invested a total of 19million in this loss making energy firm, and they can seemingly 'afford' to sponsor Rovers.

Me thinks it might be time to ask Marvellous Marvin how much sponsorship he is authorising down BS3 this year.....

    Quite so Rob.

Thing is, most people enjoy the misfortune of others.

I'm fairly sure that being a Rovers fan you have to enjoy your own misfortune.

Those shitheads can crow and strut, but I've never known a single ted that hasn't begrudgingly admired the fact that as sh** as we always are, we still love the Gas.

In many ways, more than they could ever love their plastic franchise.

What is this specimen on about. So because rovers are shit . We admire them and tell them what fantastic supporters they are . ******* unbelievable.

Well this shithead thinks you are shit your support is shit . And you constantly chat shit .

Anything to make themselves feel better.

I just googled the meaning of a Franchise in case it has been rebadged to another activity, or I completely misunderstood the structure of Bristol City/Bristol Sport ..

"franchise business is a business in which the owners, or "franchisors", sell the rights to their business logo, name, and model to third party retail outlets, owned by independent, third party operators, called "franchisees".

If anyone has a bogus account  on asschat could you educate the ******* idiots for their own good please because this term of endearment doesn't quite work and the sooner at least some of those poor folk realise that the better.
