I believe I heard 20man say on the radio that dopey was bound by a confidelity agreement which in itself would imply some form of compensation.

I'm sure he'll take Stewart with him as one of his "backroom boys" to similar footballing hotbeds like Hartlepool or Scarborough.

Genuine step ups for him in terms of facilities then.

    Really?

So why didn’t he say “This was Sheffield Utd, not Bristol Rovers”?

Instead he said “some Rag ass Rovers club”. It’s a made up name, I’ve heard Barry Fry use it long before Cotts arrived at City.

It is hilarious that they were so convinced it referred to them, shows what they think of their own club.

I don’t remember him ever mentioning Rovers let alone slag them off. It’s dicks like Dopey Darrell who have to resort to that sort of thing.

Absolutely, ragass or reggedy ass Rovers is a well known phrase.

Fits them perfectly mind so I can see the confusion...

These are the same idiots who tell each other that Matty Taylor is on 20k a week.

Didnt realise Kieran Agard was our record signing? Could’ve sworn we paid something like £2.25 million for Maynard? We paid over a Million for Akinbyi in the 90s FFS.

I’d love to know why they feel the need to lie about everything?

Blimey Thorpe and Akinbiyi 20 years ago cost more than Kieran.

Not necessarily . You can still have liked him, appreciated what he had done for us, but realised that a change had to be made or we were heading down again.

    Absolutely this.

He was great for us, but clearly felt let down by the (alleged) meddling in transfer business so spat out his dummy and would have taken us down I believe just to prove a point which is unforgivable.

This was Everton, over 100 years ago 1884-86; everton_1884-1885-g.gif

    Shrewsbury, also over 100 years ago 1907 - 08 shrewsbury_town_1907-1908-k.gif

Rovers went into their "unique quarters" in 1935-36

Interesting that not only were we a league club well before them, we were actually wearing royal  blue in FA cup finals over 20 years before they adopted those colours......

They should have stuck with the Argie rugby shirts or the Notts County copycat outfit.

Also, if they are so "unique" and define the club, why did they ditch them for 11 years from 1962 ??

I'm a watcher of their two main forums, I read the vitriol ridden crap they write about us, I listen to the total nonsense my Rovers supporting brother spouts, I think of their attempts to grab AG and their quite disgraceful plan to turn The Memorial (to the dead of the 1st World War) Ground Into a supermarket, and quite frankly I will laugh myself shitless the day Rovers folds and disappears for ever.

Yes yes yes. I have so many top gas mates but I would love their club to explode. And thats exactly how they feel about us.

Take note you ******* do gooders ?

if the surface stands up to it....Bristol Sport will consider it all as extra money. It'll be quite some juggle though. Swindon would welcome the extra cash, but I cant see any other place being a good enough size tbh. The Rec has a bigger capacity than The Mem, so doubt they'd consider it a reasonable deal. IIRC Swindon were more than happy to roll out the welcome mat

    Agree.

As a Bristol rugby fan though I would not want to give them fuckall, as we might actually be competing at either end of the table against each other, so whatever disadvantaged them would be fine by me.

BS wouldn't see it that way of course because they don't understand.

there was an outside chance that Bath were to play at the County Ground as an interim measure a few years ago. The Mem was never mentioned, but there again, Bristol Rugby and the Gas were sharing The Mem at the time

County ground Swindon maybe. Wouldn't put it past them asking Bristol Sport and then BS juggling three teams on that pitch.

Sorry if I missed it on another thread, but I heard a week or so ago that our record against teams in the top half of the table was the second best in the league. Against teams in the lower half of the table we were second worst.

We need to figure out how to beat these 'lesser' teams. An natural goal scorer would be a start.

Easier to bring in a natural head coach.

She has to at least act impartial in the interests of professionalism in her role. She has said she's a City fan, she's just doing her job... I'd much rather she posts here and provides the information while being fair to both clubs, than not posting at all because of her personal football club preferences.

Id rather she didn't post at all but thats just my view of course.

That's a strange way of spelling 'go out of business' Julie.

You will get zero people on here, Miah apart, agreeing with your point. The rest of us hope they lose every single game they play.

But she is a club official so that's the corporate stance.

He is a  gashed so shouldn't enjoy any freebies down AG.

He is also a *** like most politicians

That isn't based on any fact though, just a personal opinion.

Wait until it is up and running then we can judge, teams have managed to get to a decent standard from Canada and France in the English leagues, so not so sure it won't be a success in this area

Not based on fact insofar as professional rugby league in Bristol is concerned, but is  based upon what a lemon in terms of public interest it is in non league strongholds  like south wales and London where pro teams have been set up . London is full of northern ex pats and Broncos only play at Ealings ground because of low crowds.

Average gate in the Super league is 8,500 and thats primarily in towns where it is a religion and people were brought up on it. Can't see too many locals taking an interest particularly during the union season, and in particular I wonder how many Bristol rugby fans would entertain lining the pockets of the organisation that shafted them, but as you say , just a personal view.

It would be amazing if Rovers had their ground "stolen" by a rugby club.

    Wouldn't that be nice..

Unless Dwayne did something dodgy and wound up for no good reason, the rugby league is far more likely to fold as there is very little interest down here.

Rental income for the gas - not that they would see any of it.

And Burton have actually made it to the Championship, so should be considered the big club experiencing hard times :)

Some of them who like a bit of egg chasing wont even come to support the Bears, how sad is that?

I'm not sure how a gashead could claim to be a Bristol rugby fan after the way they were shafted by the cuckoos.

I think you would buy Dwane for a quid, put £12m cash in and pay off the loan, ie substituting your loan for Al Qadi loan.

But why?  If the Al Qadis cannot get it to work financially, why will anyone else?

Someone on there is quoting big money investment into Dagenham and Leyton Orient as if to say that there is almost certainly an oligarch out there slavering at the prospect of acquiring the famous Roverz...
