  1. Veneers are just a fad just as bubble perms were in the 70’s and early 80’s. There was a time when mullets were cool……. In recent times beards became trendy and now it’s shiny right teeth.
  2. In football process generally means building a squad with the right type of player to fit into the managers style of play. Clearly if the academy plays using the same style then it easier for the graduate to make the step up. A process means the same in any industry - simply baking a cake is a process.
  3. You can tell the close season is almost here…………..
  4. Many European languages are derived from Latin, including French. Latin and Greek are the core sources of medical terminology.
  5. I came across numerous Latin terms/abbreviations in my career Tone.
  6. I’m probably a lone voice when it comes to Conway - I wouldn’t remotely bothered if he moved on. He misses too many one on ones, isn’t a poacher as Tony ‘tap in’ Thorpe was and doesn’t have strength or power to hassle and bully defenders as Semenyo did. He’s too lightweight and wouldn’t get into any of the top Championship clubs. He’s overrated on here by many posters. If an offer came in for £1m - bite their hand off!
  7. It seems that the Americans want to take over the football industry per se.
  8. It seems that the Americans want to take over the football industry per se.
  9. Revolut cards weren’t available the last time that I was in Barca CR. I’ll look into it if I visit again.
  10. It was a bloody nuisance having to report the theft to the police who couldn’t initially find anyone who spoke English. Eventually one showed up and I was able to cancel all my cards - naturally they had all relevant contact numbers. I got a crime number which enabled me to claim back on my insurance - ended up with a new wallet out of the experience. I’d make the mistake of using a public ATM and drew out 300e where they’d obviously been watching. The copper said they get thefts reported daily and I had to sit thru two albums of mug shots.
  11. Another trip worth doing is the open top tourist buses.there were 3 different routes all coded and interchangeable and take you all over the city. Buy a day ticket and you’ll have access to all the sights. We went to Guell park and the Camp Nuo by bus! The tour around the stadium is well worth the effort.
  12. That’s exactly where we used to eat and very reasonably priced by Barca standards. The city is full of Gaudi’s work including the cathedral and the lampposts in Placa Reial. Park Guell and Casa mila where there are no straight lines - a remarkable place.
  13. Phew……..that seems a lot and I thought that smarmy Ashton had moved on…………. Maybe the all knowing Ian Gay can tell us………..
  14. I agree on both highlighted points wendy - unless the SPL is considered a ‘step up’ for Conway…….…… As for Twine - no we haven’t seen enough of him particularly as he’s been missing and won’t have yet regained the match sharpness. Any player that’s been injured for quite some time would have the same readjustment to match fitness. That said the glimpses we have seen have shown what a fully fit Twine would bring. His set piece delivery is excellent as we saw at Norwich and he can certainly see a pass. He and Williams in midfield would be quite a prospect - I don’t think he’s worth anywhere near £5m quoted tho but if City could get him for half that or maybe £3m then go for it.
  15. I wonder why the Debenhams building isn’t being converted into flats/apartments? It’s a massive premises with enough space for literally dozens of them. Demolishing the building seems unnecessary to me - but then I’m not and engineer or architect.
  16. It’ll be far worse if City ever reach the PL. Bitter sweet for me if it ever happens.
  17. I didn’t think it was great but it was different to the usual coaching soundbites that he’s been coming out with. He also looked and sounded much more relaxed that usual. That might be because City are on a decent run and only two games away from the end of the season.
  18. Wonderful City. It’s my favourite. Been there many many times and usually stay just off La Ramblas. There is sooo much to see - a short stay just whets your appetite for more which is exactly what happened to us! One major issue that every tourist needs to be aware of is pickpockets. I had my wallet taken just as we got into tube as the doors shut. The bastards were dressed like Ninja’s and mid European at a guess. Send a PM if you want more info about Barca.
  19. Where Conway goes is irrelevant to me but in the SPL he’d be a superstar at one of the big two - he’d be up against piss poor defenders virtually every game.
  20. I’d much prefer Williams to stay, not too bothered about Conway who too many posters have an inflated opinion regarding his ability. To me he’s bang average and certainly wouldn’t get into any of the top Championship clubs teams. I wouldn’t be the slightest concerned if he moves on.
  21. Unfortunately players with the ‘Billy big bollocks’ syndrome rarely see the error of their ways as they slip down the leagues. Idehen apparently has a very similar syndrome. For them just being a professional footballer gives them kudos in their social circle and that’s enough for them.

Ridiculed by whom?…..we’re all City fans - like an unrelated family in some ways. As for Nige - the reason for his sacking has been done to death because the ‘reasoning’ dished out by the hierarchy at AG was about as close to lily livered as anyone can get. We all have our suspicions and although I can’t speak for everyone the overall consensus seems to be that Nige was too outspoken and pissed off the higher ups. He’s gone and most of the fanbase are trying to get behind Manning.
  24. Overall I actually don’t have that big a problem with the current state of the football industry. However…two things…..I see tv money as a positive but the distribution of it is completely unfair to clubs lower down the leagues. The PL clubs should allow their tv income to trickle down to L1 and 2 far more generously. Plus…..VaR……whilst it’s intention is to remove officials errors from the game it’s got to the point where it takes soooooo bloody long to reach a decision and they still don’t get it right every time. Take Coventry’s disallowed ‘goal’ in the 120min of extra time - even with the VaR lines it was impossible to tell. What ever happened to benefit of the doubt?’ If/when City reach the PL we’ll have to put up with every goal being analysed and that in itself stifles the joy and excitement of seeing your team scoring a goal.
