Check your Sky account....they've already implemented the sky sports subscription from 19/6/20. My dd goes out on Monday and I saw on my pending transactions on my online bank that the sky payment was increasing.

Interesting that the increase was actually put on before the PL announced the start date! ..well I suppose Sky are running football nowadays.

Thanks, indeed you are correct, mine's increasing. They don't waste any time do they!

Spoke to my mate Bill in Perth today, he had heard about the possibility.......he said ‘Perth had empty hotels, no Covid and six suitable stadiums’

Ah, ok. Fair enough, I'll ask my son tomorrow if he has heard anything about it.

  3. Spoke to my son who lives in Perth this morning. He's sports mad and a City fan?.

He didn't say anything about Prem games being played there when we were talking about the season's outstanding games.

He did say Foxtel were reportedly in trouble because of no sports on TV.

Seems unlikely to me. Mandatory 14 days complete hotel quarantine for all those incoming to WA. So no training etc during those 14 days in isolation.

Thanks for posting the link mate as it has another link in it to the `on this day` feature.

3-0 over Swindon - what a night that was! The night we truly believed we were going up.

That Joe Bryan goal, wow, just wow!

It was a great night. Cotts' reaction when the third went in was magic!

I've been following the club since I was a nipper in the early 5O's and that season under Cott's was one of the best. It was only L1 but we were such a force. Felt like we were riding the crest of a wave.

Fantastic times, pity the 'Gate was being redeveloped at the time, otherwise the home crowds would have been 20k plus I reckon.

CIS is only the construction industry.  As has been pointed out there are an awful lot of self-employed on top of that.

Of course, not disputing that for one moment. And for many different types of self employed it's obviously very difficult to sort out.

Just suggesting that getting help to CIS self employed via their UTR, in the same way their over payment of  tax is refunded, would be relatively straightforward.

My view, fwiw, is a subsistance payment to everyone. Same amount, enough to cover bills, food etc. And so what if some benefit, while others will find it inadequate. At least it would help the vast majority and enable people to stay home and stop the virus spreading and not become destitute.

That's very assumptive. In fact any self employed subcontractors pay there tax in advance and its paid by the person that pays them. It isn't like it used to be. Everyone pays by bank transfer. I would say anyone with a turn over of £35k plus simply cannot avoid paying the correct amount of tax. Only the small 'cash in hand' workers have the opportunity to avoid tax. And this will (or should) bite them on the arse now.

Exactly. There's a lot of ignorant comments on here.

And as I pointed out much earlier in this thread CIS self employed have already contributed too much tax during the present financial year. That's the way it's done.

As HMRC issue tax rebates following CIS tax returns against a sub contractor's UTR I don't see why it would be that difficult to provide the appropriate financial support by the same method.

IR35 cases may be more difficult/complicated, I have no experience with this. But getting help to at least some CIS self employed would be a start and demonstrate that something was being done.

    Thats a shame.

There never is any dolphins...paid a fortune over the years to see them in various places abroad.

BUT finally got to see loads for free at Mwnt Beach in Pembrokeshire from the beach/cliff last summer - apparently the largest pod of bottle nose dolphins in Europe.

Anyhow, it does appear that there is an environmental positive from what is a terrible time.

Plenty of dolphins in Mandurah estuary, not sure when I will be in a position to see them again though!
