  1. Going by how he looked on Monday and the fact he now plays in midfield, I think Naismith needs a bit more time before starting. So make him sub again but hope to get him on at least for 30 minutes. Kalas if fit could start as his position at c/h doesn't require quite so much running about. He might have to come off if flagging towards the end of the game. That would reluctantly mean DaSilva dropping to the bench. With regard to bringing Scott in, how can we leave him out unless to protect him from injury. I would bring Scott back and leave Weiman out. But with these additional players back  we can rotate a bit.

Exactly what it was. His reaction was a natural reaction to someone laying their hands on someone.

Robertson had no rights to lay his hands on the lino and it just proves the Mitro ban needs to be longer to send out a strong message.

The head of referees needs to send a written advice to all managers spelling out how referees are to be treated, who if any can approach them and the penalties for behavior received from Mitrovic and Robertson. At the same time tell all referees that loutish behaviour from players must not be tolerated. This includes gathering round referees, touching/grabbing referees and verbal abuse. Tough penalties like a yellow for touching, yellows for being in a referees face and a red for more serious stuff as per Mitrovic. Whilst we are at it, more yellows for feigning injuries and play acting. If players consistently abuse these rules  their respective clubs need a warning that fines and/or points deductions will follow. Lets make football better to watch.

IMHO I'd say Ramsdale is the slightly better keeper, Pickford maybe slightly better with the ball at his feet, but there's not much in it. The deciding factor is Pickford has the shirt and is Southgate's current fav.

My only criticism of Pickford is that he's a bit hyper in his behaviour whereas Ramsdale is calmer. The latter surely helps the defence more.

  4. I've put a comment about this on another heading. Football needs a flat, even pitch, rugby not so much. So the obvious thing to do is play the football before the rugby. So footy Friday night and rugby Saturday or footy Saturday and rugby Sunday. How difficult is that or is there a monetary reason for it.

I'm here for the rugby. A couple of 'before' photos. If I remember I will try to take some 'after' photos too.

I have every faith in the groundstaff that the pitch will be perfect for us tomorrow. I've already seen a few moans on Facebook etc

Can't understand why rugby is played on the pitch on a Friday evening when the oval ball doesn’t need a flat pitch but football which does need a flat pitch is played the next day. Why not switch the games?

  6. Big fan of young Tanner. Those crunching tackles and fearless 50 50s. Sometimes have to look away when you see one coming. Perhaps Pearson tells him to be more defensive so that Pring can bomb forward. We dont know. But having a fully fit Wilson and Tanner with the idea of playing and resting them has to be good.

I read the post match with the manager. He basically said the experience of Ellis Harrison and Matty Taylor gave him a dreadful time.

Just worked out that, that's two against one. No wonder Towler had a tough game. Why didn't the manager get him some help ie man mark one of them leaving Towler to sort the other. Bit like young Tanner who has Foden and Silva on him and was subbed.

I’d say Lansdown because that side of the stadium is newer.

(no offence to anyone in the Dolman, don’t all jump on my head! ;) )

No way. Dolman better. I'm in E30 some 6 rows from the front. Superb view and close to the players especially with throw ins. Also we look at the Lansdown which is a brilliant view. Also like getting soaked when it rains hard. ?☔.

Just renewed our 4 season tickets so all set up for our promotion season. ???

Me too.  Bloody great player, and although nobody disputes he was great, I’m not sure how many put him ahead of Moore or Hurst because of the 66 Final.

I think Charlton only scored 6 pens in his total but Kane has18.

Yep, wasn’t a slight on Tanner, just gave us a different option, and got Andi on too…

Tanner is an excellent player. Last night he was constantly left on his own with Foden and Silva to deal with. Sykes unusually kept further up the pitch and didn’t track back to help Tanner. Equally James could have moved over to assist him. Left one on one, Tanner would have done better. I don't agree that Sykes did better in the 2nd half, he just got more support from Weiman than Sykes. But a brilliant effort all round.

It’s struck me at todays game just how much progress Nige has made since he took over having to rebuild  the cub  pretty much from scratch and all the while reducing the wage bill.

We see City sitting 13th in the Championship table just 9 points outside the pray offs with 13 games to go and putting in some decent performances along the way.

The squad is motivated and certainly have bought into Nige’s way, are showing 100% commitment all over the pitch leaving nothing out there on the final whistle. Things are finally looking good after several seasons of mediocre management both on and off the pitch

I’m sure we’d all love a push for the top six - just what we need to keep us all enthusiastically checking other Championship results and league table.

When I listen to Nige pre and post match he genuinely impresses me with his candour and obvious deep knowledge of what it takes to build a successful club - he really is a proper manager who is applying his skills and knowledge of the industry to improve our club. I think we’re lucky to have him as our manager.

Today wasn’t a great game but City managed to come away with three points when not playing that well - a defiant good sign.

Tuesday eve we have a lucrative fixture against Man City at a sold out AG live on TV which obviously raises Bristol City's profile  nationally but to me the result is largely irrelevant with the league being the number 1 priority.

That said…….the FA cup is known for its upsets so you just never know…………:cool2:

Think us fans should acknowledge the fab job Nige is doing by chanting his name when he comes out just before the game starts. Show our appreciation.

Sad if Atkinson has ruptured his ACL because he will be out for months. And real shame for him having got back into the team during this unbeaten run.

However having an international centre back, who is used to playing on the left side even though he’s right footed is hardly a disaster, and I don’t see why there should have to be a sudden switch in formation just because it’s Kalas rather than Atkinson in that position. What we might miss more is Atkinson’s heading prowess and goal-scoring ability as that has never been a strong point for Kalas.

Not sure I agree with that. Kalas has one of the highest leaps of most footballers. He ain't the tallest but has ability to get up higher than most opponents.

I’ve just d/l the clip and watched it back a few times.  McClean isn’t the innocent party in this either.  He’s gone in with more force than Tanner, almost on his knees with a sweeping action, launching in from further away.  He could’ve got a yellow too.

From these pics it looks like Tanner is sliding in with his right foot along and down on the pitch and getting to the ball first whereas McTwat is jumping in knees first and a good second to the ball. No foul.

Some tosser from Winterstoke Road entrance shouting at people Saturday and Today to show their tickets. Get a proper job mate, we wouldn't be walking to the Ground for no reason. Jobsworths everywhere

Agreed. May not have a ticket but could be going to the City shop or just having a drink at one of the outside places.

  15. Mad Cyril - Your dead right. People should buy tickets for seats they mean to sit in. To many people either don't then sit in their correct seats before the game starts or move about during the game. Then there's the confusion as to if they have the right seats, no, then have to get up and move out etc etc.. Meanwhile they are stopping other fans from seeing the game. Also some of our less intellegent fans, presumably buy on the day people,  can't follow straight forward signs and end up in the wrong place.

So buy your ticket and sit in the right seat people.
