  1. Come on City fans. There are a couple of bad apples in the royal family but the Queen was such a lovely, special lady who gave her life to the job and our country. She's respected throughout the world which will come out in the days and weeks ahead. I personally wouldn't postpone the football and other sports but use it as a chance for people to pay their respects. ⚘

Cost us a point at least against Sunderland, cost us all 3 at Blackpool and then could easily have cost us all 3 tonight. On another day or against a more potent attack he would have. Generally plays well with plenty of good moments and then throws it all away with baffling decision making in the worst areas of the pitch and under little pressure.

Even after the disaster on Saturday he was keen on messing about with it again tonight which is worrying. Needs to cut it out sharpish or like others have said, patience will start wearing thin.

We drew away to Blackpool so cost us one point.

I watched him a few times in the U21s, always thought he looked the most promising. When Britton was scoring shed loads, Conway was the one with the touch and movement.  Now he has Wells and Weimann to help him he looks the real deal, I hope he can keep this run going for a while.

But how would Britton have done if he had Weiman and Wells setting him up. He was decent on the deck but better in the air and definately more aggressive. But not so quick as Conway but not as slow as Martin. We'll never know. Pity.

First time I’ve seen Weimann lack energy. He looked too knackered to close down. The guy had too much time on the edge of the box.

The problem is we didn't mark their player just outside the box. The same happened a few times in the first half. These are strong professionals and can belt a ball in the back of the net from there. Had he been marked the shot and deflection wouldn't have happened.

The problem is that the only forward that we have playing in a top 4 Premier League team is Kane. And then we have the issue of making chances in the first place. This England team aren’t great at that either any more!

But if you play the only real player who has the skill to open up defences on the left wing or worse sub after playing well in the last game what do you expect. Grealish should start and be the attacking midfielder who can set chances up for Kane.

In Naismith and Kane we’ve made two sensible signings. As someone else said, round pegs in round holes.

Sykes, I’m not 100% sold on, but he adds versatility and was a free transfer, so not much risk.

It’s a great start. Could do with another central midfielder if HNM goes, and wouldn’t be too surprised to see a striker to help us prepare for the inevitable departures of Wells and Semenyo.

If anyone's watching I would be interested in what you think of Sarpong-Wiredu for ColU.

Looks slow and hesitant. Not Championship quality.

In the same game Im looking at Chilvers as an attacking midfielder for Colchester. Has pace and good control. In our team think he would be decent.

A 2-2 draw at home against a premier league parachute payment side.

    In isolation a good result.

And at the same time disappointing.

If the players cannot see out a win, why are they playing. What are they doing? It comes back to leadership again.

They don’t have the balls, the backbone, the nous, the know how, the brains, the leadership, the communication, the shithousery, the skills, the wisdom or the capability. To close out games.

Or a manager who uses subs with 3 minutes to go to break up play and see the game out.

same old city, you cant blame the manager, its the players out there at the death, how many we conceded going to sleep in last few minutes this season

I  blame his lack of tactics in that there we were with 3 minutes of extra time to play. Now a manager with a clear brain would see those 3 minutes out by being disruptive. By that I mean use subs when extra time starts, then again a minute later. Also get the players to foul a bit when the ball is near the half way line. Again to break WBA's play. Crazy

Looking back at the results, it looks like Derby at home, 4th December, was the last clean sheet.

Got slated previously for suggesting Kalas was a massive part of our defensive problems. People can’t seem to look past the fact he was an expensive signing from Chelsea and that automatically makes him exempt from blame.

He is not a leader, not a ball winner and not someone who can carry the ball out of defence.

Hoping today gives us an insight into what we can be like without players being picked purely by reputation.

Not a ball winner. He is our top ball winner. Wins every header and is no soft touch on the ground. He is capable of bringing the ball out of defence and does do that at times but perhaps he's told not too. Has kept us in many games but perhaps Nige is right that he needed time off.

Yep. Those were my thoughts at half time but then having seen Klose withdrawn it was clearly an injury, so couldn’t happen. I’d definitely be looking at Kalas for RB though going forward.
unless of course Simpson becomes Lazarus

Agree with some of what's been said. But sat in the Dolman some 6 rows back so pretty close to Bell  whenever he got the ball from Kalas he wasn't allowed to much space or time by the opposition but he totally lacked support by our midfield and more so by Semenyo who seemed happy to go towards the Lansdown but rarely move across to the Dolman. Bell got the ball and there was nobody down the wing or closer to pass to and quite often nobody came short or made themselves available to the lad. Pretty poor. Had he had such support and help he would have looked a better player. At least he's getting some experience albeit it a bit painful for him. But yes, Kalas would be a better option at right back.

That Cundy’s a bit of a unit. I had to laugh when he came on and grabbed one of their players around the neck and threw him to the floor.

That's Cundy just being friendly  wait till he's angry. Ha!

  13. Watched Bristol City womens team for the first time recently at the High Performance Centre against Crystal Palace. Very enjoyable game to watch. Good passing, plenty of movement and impressive skills on show. Special mention to Abi Harrison, centre forward who has a powerful shot and scores regularly. Just called up to the Scotland squad. Great to take the kids along. City won 4-0 against a team just above them in the league. Have since beaten Durham 3-0 away.  Food and drink available.

No we can’t.  We haven’t broken FFP, nor will we for the cycle ending 2021/22 (this season).

We could be over in the cycle ending 2022/23, but we have 9, 12, 15 months to clear what is likely to be a small amount over £39m.  Certainly not minus 9….nowhere near that.

It will help if us Bristolians buy up all them season tickets when they are for sell. Give our bank balance a big boost. Can you imagine with Covid practically gone, 90% or more season tickets sold and the ground pretty full with a really good side we appear to have. Exciting or what.
