Is he regarded as one of the best young coaches in England? By what metric? I'm not trying to be snarky I'm genuinely asking because idk if he'd make my top 10.

Oxford were clearly underperforming pretty massively, probably down to lethargy due to Robinson being there for so long, it happens. I imagine most managers would have kept them up. And yes MK Dons still got relegated, but I don't think that really means anything it could just be that they hired a worse manager than Manning. It's always struck me as silly when a team, I'll give an example, Ole at United, people pointed to the previous bad performances of managers performing as a justification for structural issues. And whilst those structural issues did exist for sure, it's also possible to replace a bad manager with another bad manager, and keeping a bad manager just because you have those structural issues I don't think will solve anything.

As for Edwards I think look if he'd absolutely shit the bed at Watford then maybe but he was like 9th. Really not that poor of a performance, so a team like Luton that seemed to be wanting to take a chance on a young manager with potential who in all honesty had been treated poorly by his last club before being sacked even when not underperforming (reminds me of all the times Darren Moore got sacked), seems like a gamble worth taking. Sometimes those don't pay off, Nathan Jones is a weird one for instance he seems to be a good manager, but only for Luton . Garner another one I remember when we got him there were a number of coaches and players talking about how much promise he had, he was awful! Sometimes you get Rob Edwards and Michael Beales other times you get Ben Garners and Frank Lampards. To be clear I don't think I'll be proven wrong if Manning does amazingly, we're just talking about CVs here. I imagine with the young players he'll do okay, seems to have a good style too.

Oh ok, so you are either proved right, or proved not wrong. Time to put you on ignore as you use far too many words to say nothing.

Can’t wait to hear how many thousands attended and how many locked outside

Well according to the muppet on Radio Bris “at least 8,000 as that is what they’ve been getting all season”. Not sure about that and distrust anything to do with that mob.

Not sure how this got through my Feckov filter on Yahoo mail, but I might as well put in for it.  First bullet point tells me that I must

"Monitor the crowd throughout the ground for signs of distress or overcrowding".

I might be a tad busy with the distressed ones……….but, overcrowding?  That sounds like the cushy part of the job!

Minimum wage the lucky buggers. Even our Steve thinks it’s a job worth more than that.

  4. Got to agree. Vyner gets a lot of grief but he covers a lot of Naismith’s mistakes. Today we saw what happens when Vyner isn’t playing. Don’t get me wrong though, Naismith is a good player, just has a few mistakes in him.

Compare this to the new stand at Barnet FC, that mighty National League team. Not a supporting pillar to be seen

    IMG_4781.jpeg

Ahh well you see, the ones over the river that can read and write reckon it has to have pillars because to be a cantilever design would mean extending the roof behind the stand………..as can be seen clearly in this picture…….and every stand at the gate! ?‍♂️?

  6. So:

Look over here lads we’re building a stadium to distract you from a shite transfer window.

Look over here lads we’re building a new stand to distract you from nothing happening on the stadium front.

Look over here lads we’ve got a new owner to distract you from signing a woman beater because they were cheap.

Look over here lads we’re busting our transfer record to distract you from the planning shag up with the new stand.

Look over here lads we’re sticking it to the pesky council and building our stand anyway to distract you from lying about signing a very expensive player.

Look over here lads we’re [fill in this when news announced ] to distract you from yet another stadium plan going south as we wanted it built for free.

….. and they look the other way every time like the Goombas in the Mario Bros film when music is played???

Supporters and Radio Bristol saying how dark it was in that corner due to the lights being partially obscured by the roof of the stand...

Ah they have this covered. If you look closely the roof has concertinas in it. A bit like a horizontal shutter door would have.
It’s probably made by the same company that used to do those awnings that the ex chief of Manchester police advertised.

Just need to train a steward to pull the chain to open the roof up…… job done.

  8. Thought she did a decent job. Less excitable than when she covers Yeovil and explained what was happening pretty well. Minor criticism could be that there needs to give more names of players with the ball and where they are on the pitch but it is minor and there are far far worse than her that have covered City. Finally, thought she connected with Gary Owers really well.

Having a look at the building site today.

Wycombe commentators taking the piss big time.

They’ve commented that the ground on the left hand side tails off a bit, probably down a sink hole.

Then they said “Don’t know what the new stand will be like but it’s in keeping with the rest of the ground, a bus stop next to a tent, next to a bit of scaffolding”.

Agent Low puts Wycombe 1 up to a chorus of Wanchor and Sheeeed’ead.

Entertainment all round today at the cess pit.

The few photos I’ve seen that doesn’t look very temporary. I was expecting something a bit more like Fulham’s temporary end. I can see why the locals are a bit pissed about it.

  10. Well I don’t remember this happening. Did it and I’ve forgotten or is it more utter bull crap from them?

Over 9.5 years old and still couldn't be more pertinent ? wasn't the mayoral position meant to stop this kind of nonsense ha!

Edit: if I recall correctly BCC even gifted Lansdown's clubs a significant parcel of land, worth a not so inconsiderable amount, to ensure their redevelopment could commence

The pretext for the ban is apparently the BEP's reporting on the Bright sacking. However, I agree with posters who have suggested Barton is actually guided by his own financial motivations.

What is your opinion on him cashing in on your clubs supporters thirst for information, whilst excluding the club from that money making stream?

There wouldn't be a BRFC without them. It is that simple.

After Hayles was sold, Holloway put together the Cureton-Roberts partnership, which was one of the most feared strike forces in lower league football.

Yes, young Jamie was feared wasn’t he?

Its funny - when I hear you lot to us as 'tinpot', I only have to think back just over two decades, when the bassist/drummer of Bros (sorry, genuinely can't remember/care), was your chairman. For those less senior, Bros have a strong claim to be one of the worst UK bands of all time, and I was genuinely embarrassed for your club and its fanbase. At the time we were being run by the Dunfords - a solid, decent and unstated chairmanship.

Then you met Steve Lansdown, a leading practitioner of Anglo-Saxon vulture capitalism, and the rest is history.

When you genuinely didn’t care about Scott Davidson what was it that you were genuinely embarrassed about in your genuinely not caring mindset?

Also, what does unstated mean in that context?

  14. Educated guess, we’ll be in the middle somewhere ?

Seriously though, I do think we’ll be in the middle as if you park Bedminster side of Winterstoke Rd it’s pretty busy even when the football is on with families taking Tarquin out for a stroll so quite safe but the trading estates over the other side of Winterstoke Rd are pretty quiet and likely to be where any break ins happened. So bang average overall.

I don’t drive to football anymore but when I used to I never had an issue at all.

You realise that the 'sheikh' stuff is borderline racist, don't you? Or perhaps you don't?

If Lansdown decided to invest in his local community, he'd be investing in Guernsey.

If you believe it to be racist or offensive in any way you can report the post and a moderator will review it. Alternatively you could just **** off back to the tented-ish village.
