W.T.F. do you know about the Championship ?

Your tinpot outfit has not been in the Championship for 30 years

    Asshead

Using their flawed logic, and in the same way that we have ‘never been in the Premier League’, have they ever been in The Championship? My memory is a bit misty after so many years but I thought they were bouncing around the lower leagues when the Championship was formed.

  2. Seems we are now at fault for their annual season ticket shag up.

E mailed the club at 3pm, had an instant reply from Pete, saying I will be sent an e ticket tomorrow morning, is it OK to post a positive thing?, 1st class mail posted Monday, shouldn't we also be directing the issue to Royal Mail, I worked there for many a year and have seen some Ted supporting posties shall we say "damage" mail when they realised it was from our club, this was a few years ago, whether its happening still, who knows. Interesting to see the gas fans getting excited about a share split in Dwane Sports. Saying it's an indication of new investors is interesting. Splitting each £1 share, both those issued and unissued, into 100 £0.01 shares could be something you'd do in preparation of investment, but normal practice is to do it simultaneously with that investment coming in.

That is you create the new shares and then immediately give them to a subscriber. You don't normally bother reorganising your share capital months before a deal - in this case the signatures on the resolutions are from 30 June.

To me that suggests it's more about the current owners thinking about possibly redistributing ownership % between themselves. I could be wrong and they could be doing things in preparation, but honestly market practice is to get the docs all ready and action it all on one day.

They aren’t very good at following procedures, rules and protocols it would seem, so who knows ?

  4. So you know how they use distraction techniques to hide really bad news like, look we’re getting a new stand, or look we’re getting a new ground.

Well they must be getting ready to deliver some bad news as this little rumour has its own thread over there. Look there’s a new investor ?

    New investor

An 82er mate of mine reckons we may be getting new investors from the Middle East. Just passing on the message and he's normally bang on with stuff, so please don't shoot the messenger.

Wasted on that p rick, mate. Better to just put on ignore as got nothing to say. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Pitiful.

Done that a loooong time ago. It was good advice. Just a pain when the gas minibus driver is quoted as I seem to still see that.

Intresting comment in bristol live. I suppose you could argue they packed the tent away..

"There has been no demolition work, a previous structure has been dismantled and the ground on which it stood has been levelled and prepared and a few bushes (not trees) have been removed."

Excellent, well I’m sure the law people will be all over it and hope they ask for the survey that proves no birds were killed or injured, no birds eggs were damaged and no birds nests were damaged or destroyed during nesting season (nesting season being exactly when they pulled the trees/bushes/shrubs down).

When they work this out I’m sure the trees that became just bushes will become Bonzai instead.

The fact the rugby lot are also now stitched-up with O’Neils’ rubbish makes me think the deal will be for longer than any of us would like.
I’ve said before that the only logical reason for this is that we’ve driven them down to a ridiculously low cost.. and the “quality” reflects this.

    Bring back Bukta!!!!! ?

Have they even started to build it yet , there’s so many jokes about it I don’t know what to believe any more .

There’s a picture on their forum that reckons the materials for the new stand have started to be delivered. That suggests that, happily, no they haven’t started building it yet ?

Peterborough United have terminated BBC Cambridgeshires radio commentarys a year early and Peterborough will bring the commentarys in house from this season(2023/24)

I fear for BBC local radio football commmentaries future, taking into account that starting season 2024/25, as FIVE of the twelve Championship games over the weekend will be shown LIVE.

That doesn’t sound great! I like the Radio Bristol commentary for us. Always critical if necessary, but the red tinted specs go on when required. It would be a shame to have to listen to some beige commentator spouting the corporate line like they do on Robins TV.

As an aside, I’d always assumed the Radio Bristol commentary was like a national package with the EFL and all the BBC local stations. Bit worrying it isn’t to be honest. I’m not too worried about paying but I do like Messrs Owers and Honor telling it how it is with passion for our club.

    Elite? ?

That used to be the name of a chip shop up Patchway in the 80s. Pretty good n all.

There are plenty of occupations where a criminal record, regardless of exactly what crime took place, would preclude you from working in that role. In recent years, those limitations have become widespread across more jobs than before.

It should be seen as a deterrent to doing bad things.

In this case there is extra focus, not by the law, but by public opinion because football is a high profile sport, the players are in the public eye.

Personally I think everyone deserves a 2nd chance. When it comes to violence though, my opinion becomes a lot less forgiving.

Hope that explains where I am.

    Exactly this.

There are also plenty of people working for companies that don’t require a clean record to hire you, but would deem being found guilty of a crime as bringing the company into disrepute and dismiss you for gross misconduct.

The local residents clearly not happy with the way R*vers are going about it (trying to bully their way through PP etc)

Well from what little I know of the law they’ve already breached one about undertaking construction works prior to 0730 and one about not ripping down trees between May and September.

As that’s documented I’d hope that the appropriate authorities deal with them.

An amusing read for a Sunday afternoon:-

    https://gasheads.proboards.com/thread/21150/failed

My 7 yr old wants to see the s**t...

    What do I do

    Possibly the best response? ...

"I would be inclined to take them to a s**t preseason game, where the standard of play and atmosphere is usually poor, and then take them to a big game down at the Mem where its likely to be rocking."

That would really fool them! "Big game down at the Mem????"

Quite clearly a sensible child. Having found out watching the gash he will be stood next to a paedo each match he’s opted for the safer option.
