Jason Cundy was pretty s*ite but Medube makes him look world class.
Mebude probably would be better on Talksport though

He's not OUR player! What bit don't you understand
I despised Ashton but he wasn't the problem, our problem (s) still exist but keep your head buried
Just because he’s not our player permanently doesn’t mean it’s not deemed as recruitment? Besides our most important players in the run are Roberts as LCB and Knight in the midfield for me (both players we signed in the summer), I like Twine but they have been more consistent.
I’ve never said Ashton wasn’t our only problem but as CEO we were going backwards, since that season behind closed doors we’ve progressed in league position every season and we will again this season. Ashton still needed to go

I’d be happy either way regarding James/Williams. James very sensible with the ball and reads the game so well, we’d also massively miss the experience of James and King who would be good to mentor Bird and even Meerholz who could get an opportunity. Williams is a very energetic player with a lot of bite and we’d miss that fearlessness
I’m leaning towards Williams but I’ll be happy if either or even both stay

Surely you can't even believe this yourself?
We are one of the worst run clubs in any division, no accountability or governance, and as for recruitment, you are surely jesting, our best player in the run in was twine, he ain't ours and doubt he will be any time soon!
We got lucky with a few academy kids and that well is running pretty low now!
You’ve just listed a player we signed in January as our best player, how is that not recruitment? Player of the season this season and a man who has transformed our defence was signed last summer, I’d even say Knight was top 3. Since Ashton has gone I’d say we’ve had more hits than misses, the summer window after we narrowly missed out on playoffs set us back years and Ashton has to take a lot of the blame.
If you think I’m the only one, research what Watford fans think of him

Mark Ashton, premier league CEO
Luke Werhun, premier league COO
Andy Rolls, premier league head of medical
Gary Probert, premier league head of academy
Rene Gilmartin, premier league goalkeeping coach
Steve Lansdown must be projectile vomiting uncontrollably right now
The bottom two have a lot of respect for me, Probert done a good job and that’s been carried on well at City and Gilmartin always came across well on Robins TV and did a good job as one of the academy coaches

Think we can all agree Ashton wasn’t ever the issue. How has it gone so right at Ipswich and so wrong for us I wonder…
You can also say we’ve massively improved the way we’re run now with recruitment being a lot better and since Ashton left we’ve been improving our position year by year. They’ve struck gold with McKenna but the year he joined Ipswich they were very poor, let’s see what happens if McKenna leaves for a bigger club

Interesting that this comment got a confused reaction. Which is the bit you disagree with?
On the main topic, Roberts has been absolutely brilliant since coming in. Wouldn't even mind him playing CB in a back two although that would give manager some decisions to make. But surely one of first names in starting 11 at the moment, regardless of formation.
Because there’s some weird rule that you’re not allowed to praise Tinnion on this forum because of what happened with Pearson mate

Another well thought out and presented argument…
@Charlie BCFC couldn’t back this up then?
Really sorry mate that I have more to life than this website! Well you’ve rubbished lots of people who have had a differing opinion on Manning and then stated people thinking he is “the second coming” when people are just happy with our recent form. If you don’t want to renew that’s your shout but when you post on here every day about how you don’t want to watch us then surely you can’t be shocked people think you’re looking for attention?

I don’t get why people don’t like it when someone expresses an opinion on a forum?
You don’t like it when people express different opinions to yours on this forum by the looks of things so you can’t have it both ways.

I’m pretty torn, on one hand he’s given us the balance we needed and allowed Knight to play in midfield which in the system we play in his best position, he has also showed signs of creativity and is clearly Manning’s man.
But we’ve wasted money in the past, he’s been injured for most of his time here and he’s only been directly involved in one goal. So I can see both arguments here

A long standing director of Plymouth resigned the week before this game for "personal reasons", which can mean anything.
I would say that they have problems.
Heard someone say they said that and then took up a new job, very weird

I don’t think he’s looked bad when he’s played but he hasn’t got the minutes. Would be fair for him to get a lot of minutes at some point, I think it’s unfair to write him off with the amount he’s played and how old he is. Maybe just taking some time to adapt to men’s football?

Couldn’t believe he didn’t wait till half time, shame as we’re doing really well. Hope the injured lads are ok

This is getting ridiculous even for a Bristol City side

Delighted? Not really. I’d say not bothered sums it up.
6 points that guarantee our safety shouldn’t be celebrated. How about picking up wins when it actually matters for future reference.
What a weird way to look at things, have a beer and enjoy a rare 6/6 points over the Easter weekend

Is there anything we can do to stop new accounts?
this Lez, Chris, Dog, etc thing is becoming a joke.
can we restrict posts to say 1 per day for 10 days, or something like that?
Out of interest what have they done?

He has improved massively over last few months. Kicking is better and has kept us in several games
Feel like his kicking has got better due to the areas he’s hitting. Now going shorter and doesn’t seem to be aiming for the touchline when he goes long which he used to do every time

I really like him, technically very good, quick and strong in the air

Enjoy the result and performance. A lot of the things said today were said after Southampton and looks how it went after.
He got it right today and fair enough to him, the staff and the team. Now try break down a team who sits in and see how the response is on here.
Going to keep going in circles if you get too high and defensive after every win against a big team. From the 25 odd games he's been here, in my opinion he hasn't showed enough.
We're good when we are the counter attacking team and a team gives us space to work in, let's see if you say the same after struggling against a team who sit in.
The one thing I’ll say to that is breaking down teams that sit in has been an issue for years. Yes the manager needs to find a way to move the ball quicker (looks like we did that this week in a clip I saw of training) but the squad is very much set up as a counter attacking side. I’m behind Manning though and hopefully he gets a pre season where he can put his stamp on things and we see performances improve as a whole

Touch of class from Holden here relating to the former club mentioned in this thread

Exiled in Berkshire, I took advantage of free tickets to see Slough vs Chippenham yesterday.
Amadi-Holloway was up front for Chippenham, bizarrely wearing number 5.
Scored the first goal and looked a handful for a Chippenham side that were cruising 2-0 until a well-deserved red card got Slough back in the game which ended 2-2.
Looked Amadi-Holloway up and he’s had quite a career since leaving us, with spells in India and Australia. Fair play to the lad, decent life travelling like that and playing football.
Jem Hewlett, an 18 year old on loan from Southampton looked decent. Assume he’s Matty’s son, but may be wrong on that one.
Aaron’s career stats linked here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aaron_Amadi-Holloway
Scored two in two last week from centre back so that may explain number 5!

Max Bird getting promoted automatically with his childhood club and then joining a distant team with no greater prospects
I can see some money changing hands and the transfer cancelled to avoid us having a greatly demotivated player
He’d have signed knowing the risk of them going up automatically though so why should his attitude change? Think it’s pretty good business from us as obviously he wouldn’t go to us if we waited until the summer and he went up automatically with Derby

I saw that too, wasn't even given as a foul throw was it? it hit the ground hard and bounced 15 feet into the air, most odd
I thought it was definitely given, but in fairness I wouldn’t put it past him to have done it again based on what I saw!

I’d say harsh as he had very few minutes, thought he did ok against Cardiff. Kent and Diony came with a reputation and were given plenty of chances, but were a complete waste of space
