One thing this fanbase is not, is spoilt.

No club in the country with the paucity of success that we have gets home crowds of over 22,000 on a regular basis.

If you’re so annoyed that you’re calling it quits over a win that is spoilt for me. One thing I’ll say about that is there is no way there was almost 21k in there today which was announced by Downsy!

What a childish comment. If the crowds drop (or rather ST sales) to todays level where do you think we’ll end up then?

We’ll end up with an utterly embarrassing fanbase, we are a mid table Championship side which we always haven’t been. Deciding a win to be the last straw is absolutely spoilt

That’s the basics of his job . He shouldn’t be celebrated for it when it’s a one off . It was easy to see the problems mid week & he did nothing

But if he gets criticised for it then surely you have to give praise for getting it right? Which he did today

Not hard to do when you haven't had a shot at goal up to the point of the sub. And when you're inexplicably starting Cornick instead of Sykes in the first instance.

Because Cornick played well mid week, he didn’t today but there we go

Did he just give the bird to the Dolman Stand ?

If he did then good on him, we are mid way through a game and booing helps no one.

Producing these numbers against that opposition is awful. I don't care what the scoreline was, he's failed to adapt to the squad we have. I hoped he had the pragmatism and humility to do that, and instead he's trying to force toothpaste back into the tube and turn these players into something they cannot be.

As this season is done and dusted I'm not bothered about when it happens, but he should go.

At the end of the day we got the win and the subs Manning made won us the game. Performance was much better midweek but we lost the game, let’s see what happens in the next few weeks to see what this does for confidence

That was bloody terrible. Literally the worse performance of the season.

Unfortunately all it’s done is give Manning breathing space.

Making that my last visit to the gate this season. Can no longer sit through it and cant celebrate even when they win.

Goodbye then, don’t come back if we do well!

  7. When we’ve been in the form we’ve been in recently result is the most important thing. We were constantly on the front foot mid week but lost the game. What people won’t mention is the subs that Manning made changed the game…

When are we expecting the below to return?
James - quoted as a slight knock ahead of Cardiff

    Atkinson - ?

Twine - bench vs QPR, nowhere to be seen since, “stiffness” pre Cardiff

Naismith - on the grass (ffs) pre Cardiff

    Tanner - ?

James - had injections into Achilles looking at it game by game

Atkinson - We won’t see him this season with the hamstring injury he’s picked up

Twine - Supposed to have been back training yesterday, so maybe Swansea?

Naismith - No idea what happened there

Tanner - Saw Bristol Post he should be back for Swansea

His control AND shot for the goal were both pretty awful I thought, but I admired the fact he was looking to get forward and take players on. That's what allowed it to happen and it was well deserved imo. Also a good bit of skill to make space for his shot from range - not too many others would have done that.

A better performance overall going forward I agree.

I agree he got lucky with the deflection but how he took it in the area and was decisive with where he was going. That’s massively improved from what we’ve seen before

I’m surprised at the amount of comments saying you can lay any blame on him tonight.

We were ahead twice and lost the game, and also conceded 2 goals & gave away a penalty in the space of 12 minutes. Made absolutely no changes or tweaks, two days after he says “if you aren’t going to win it, make sure you don’t lose it” about Cardiff.

We were solid for large parts of today, but you certainly can’t say that’s 100% down to the players imo.

The team was the same team that got in front, the players shat themselves on Sky. That’s how I see it, I don’t see how that’s on Manning unless you think he told them to start making terrible decisions

Where as I agree to an extent - our absolute failure to manage the last 15 minutes is a result of a weak coach and a weak mindset that has been allowed to manifest

2-1 you try to kill the game. Frustrate the home team and get the fans agitated. We just don’t have it in us - and under Manning we never will

It reminds me so much of the Lee Johnson era. Weak with no personality - just like our head coach

I can’t believe how wrong they have got it with this bloke

Our failure to manage the last 15 happened numerous times under Pearson even this season. Why haven’t you mentioned him in this when you have slated both Johnson and Manning for going that?

  11. His best game for a long time today, looked like he was going forward with intent today and looked dangerous every time he got the ball. Very different to the player who is normally indecisive when trying to beat his man

This is what we’re reduced to now. We’ve lost our fourth game in a row to a club who’ve just spent four years in League One, but it’s OK because “we gave it a go”. So what if it felt different. It felt different against Southampton and we’ve lost every game since then. I have zero faith in Manning now, and even less faith in the people that put him there.

Meanwhile Ipswich join the long list of clubs that emerge from the depths of lower league football and pass us on the way up.

    Sick of this club.

I don’t how you’re taking this on Manning but I agree around the “we gave it a go” crap, the players should’ve given it a go in the 3 games prior aswell. But they didn’t

"The plan worked, the players switched off"

Basically what happened though? We played well for 80 minutes and then we played the occasion and made wreckless decisions

Remember that YouTube video. The likes of Tommy look miserable and unimpressed by the way Manning addresses the team (with Tinnion hanging around in the background as the real boss). Honestly from the word go I couldn’t believe in Manning, seeing the confused way we went about things at Loftus Road summed up what was to come. A simply terrible appointment.

What has he done to players like Tommy and TGH, they were light years ahead under Nige.

Worth noting this from Conway, he’s been poor all season for me. image.thumb.png.e3f80d408c9fe6afc5271dea983c9f46.png

    Can you blame him?

I’m not sure I’d single him out from today tbf.

I wouldn’t single out any player, in terms of the performance it’s definitely better than the last two. But I think balancing everything I think this season we should be letting him go

  16. I’m personally still behind Manning but even if it was a manager I wasn’t behind best believe I’d still renew. Going to football on the weekend has been part of my life every year and I wouldn’t change it. If the news around the TV deal means our games get moved then it may mean I miss a few games but I feel like I’m in a good position to justify it
