I thought we looked better when Mehmeti came on but granted he does need polishing up a bit.
Agreed his decision making has been a issue for some time now, it’s getting better but it’s still not enough in a goal shy side

I did think we needed another thread referring to the same thing but different wording

So , you made it up basically
How would you rate last nights performance ?
I wouldn’t judge Manning purely on last night and hope it was an outlier , because IMHO it’s a long time since I saw us such a shambles and nigh on humiliated , luckily the scoreline didn’t reflect that.
It truly was a horror show from LM and through the side.
Still waiting to see what develops under LM but last night wasn’t one to install any belief or confidence
We were poor last night, Leeds were very good and didn’t make it easy but when we had the ball we didn’t use it well enough. However think that’s a rare poor performance under LM, Coventry mid week we were very good and should’ve got all 3 points for example
Just now, Shauntaylor85 said:How do you quantify that? Have you counted the chances and goals we scored? Because it’s dire.
That was a problem before Manning, our forwards aren’t good enough. Hence why two have been brought in on loan to add quality

Again you’re making things up to suit your argument.
Not at all, I’ve seen so much about how good we were under Pearson (I have nothing against him) but our expectations for him were very low. If you look at how we played at Leicester compared to last night, there was zero negativity after we played Leicester when we parked the bus all game and lost vs Leeds where we were poor but Manning is getting pelters. No consistency at all with this flip flop fanbase

What's changed is the idiotic decision to go back to a 3 at the back.
It didn't work before, it doesn't work now and it won't work in the future.
Someone will one day have the light bulb moment to go back to a 4 and then we'll see things improve again and then we'll just continue to go around and around in circles.
I think this is out of necessity aswell though, because we badly miss Sykes going forward and for me I’d rather have Tanner and McCrorie in there than Bell

Who has said , ever said , ? we played ‘scintillating football’ under NP
What a strange comment
We’ll just look at this thread where people seem to think we were this incredible team, I’d much rather watch us now.

Swansea away, did you go?
I did we played well, I can name atleast three games under Manning where we played better than that

I wish we got to see this scintillating football people are telling us we played under Pearson on this forum

I thought Mehmeti was ok yesterday and has been getting better over the past month or two. I would keep him

We were very poor for me and scoreline flatters us. Having said that Leeds are a very good side and for me look 10x better than the Sheffield United side that got automatics last season. I just think we could’ve used the ball a lot better when we had it, instead we gave it away lot with a lot of it under no pressure

I was thinking this.... seems very strange we always have a pre march presser. They haven't bothered this time and that's the first time this season they haven't done one
It definitely isn’t, very rare we do one on a Tuesday game

Do we know if anyone was hurt?
Not seen anything personally but would be a miracle if no one was hurt at all

Don't know about Murphy but I don't think it will be Atkinson. The medical team don't like returning players playing away from home initially. The first home game for the U21'S is Cardiff on the 13th, but they make other arrangements behind closed doors before then for Rob and Sykesy.
Ah some reason assumed it was at home. Yeah possibly not then
-
I’m with you, he’s an idiot. All well and good celebrating a goal but you can stop yourself from doing something like that. Very reactionary to me

Good result, think the U21 have struggled recently results wise but a few coming back from injury and back from loans means we look better again. Wonder if we’ll see Atkinson/Murphy for the game in mid week

Good player, dealt with this wrong but a lot of Sunderland fans turning on Beale interestingly. Do remember at Rangers, Gerrard was very much the man manager whilst Beale was the tactical side. Is his lack of man management costing him here?

I’d like to see this. Most of this season we’ve said we want to see RM at right-back, but we’ve now moved away from this set-up. For me it loses one player attacking wise. And I don’t think our defence has been compromised playing a four anyway.
I guess one argument you can do without changing the system is having McCrorie in a back 3 with Sykes in front. In possession it probably would be that even if we do go to a 4 without the ball

Felt some discomfort in his Quad and was rested was what I was told. A long way from the scare stories that were on here and elsewhere.
If there was anything more to it I think he wouldn't be anywhere near the grass. This current medical team seem very cautious in their approach.
Well he couldn’t play last night anyway

Harsh to leave out Tanner from MOTM consideration because he too was exceptional and gave McCrorie the freedom to attack.
Yeah him and Vyner were very good aswell I thought

First two starts I thought he was good but last night I think we saw his best performance of the lot. Very confident carrying the ball and uses the ball very well. Thought it was between him and Pring for MOTM last night

We were a better attacking outfit under Pearson. Imagine if he was allowed to sign players on Twine wages.
I don’t agree but do we really have to make this thread a Manning v Pearson debate again? Thought we had moved on

Oh piss off you bore.
As good as Pring is, I do think he has a point on the final ball. It’s something he could get better at, considering the amount of times he puts the ball in the box, the quality is very rarely there in that respect. Brilliant again today though

Do think it’s right he’s left this season as opposed to last, this team looks like it’s on the up again as opposed to the one last season that required the midfield they had in the summer
-
I knew he was at Salernitana and done pretty well, seems to be having a decent career in Italy. Problem with him is he could never stay fit, when he played I really liked him

5 wins in 18 games….dreadful!

Not a chance we “gave it a go” against Leicester, we had 10 men behind the ball and the goal was coming from a mile off. Both performances were poor, but only Manning gets blamed for the game he managed
