Looks like a few taking some pleasure in a young man’s current misfortune/downward spiral (probably the wrong words!).
As @Numero Unostates, let’s hope he gets back to enjoying his football and a settled period for him.
Hope he does well in his career, remember him doing a lot for charity which was brilliant from a youth player. Do think our fans massively overrated him though and it’s showing now

With the teams in the top 6, I‘m not worried. Probably not even the best team that have come up from league 2 with how Port Vale are doing

Alex Scott will be up there.
Impressed he’d be doing that whilst playing in the prem

Agree...Birmingham have got 25% on Bellingham for example.
Bet they’ll be sitting back eating popcorn seeing Real Madrid, Man City and Liverpool fight out a £100m + deal!

“Tonight’s highlight was Johnson asking the fourth official at half-time how subs work. Whilst sat on the bench.”
Brilliant.

He was given the opportunity to step up from u23s and, as l understand looked totally out of depth. So a loan was needed to give him another chance. Hope he takes it thit time
I thought he was too and definitely needed a loan, but did feel sorry for him at the time
-
Good move for him, felt very sorry for him in the league cup. Some fans got on his back very quickly and was unlucky to be involved in a very poor team performance, hopefully he makes a big impact at Walsall

Taylor-moore got to be one of the three? Unless Pearson is counting him as already gone
Possible that Moore hasn’t been talked to due to being out on loan? Highly doubt we’ll see him next season but there are a number of players who haven’t been offered a contract/told they can leave

Outstanding tonight.
Give that man a new contract
Have to say thought he was very under par the two games prior, but last night he was magnificent

Played well just like he has all season. Was mad to drop him at all tbf.
Think it was because he was ill for the Swansea game and Pring was playing well at LCB. Makes a lot more sense having him there instead of King that’s for sure

**** sake. Just spotted that. You just know he will totally crumble under anything Millwall ask for.
How he’s still being chose to ref our games after PGMOL apologising to us for his performance I’ll never know. Almost like the EFL wants us to have awful refs

Dean Whitestone the ref that gave that penalty against Hull on the opening game and the last 5 games he’s reffed us in we’ve lost.
Here we go again…

Easily translated to “They got it in the net legally, luck is not on our side today!”
Getting one penalty in two years is bad luck ffs

Today he was once again useless.
He displayed his clear lack of any football knowledge when announcing substitutions (he literally has a team sheet, and players in front of him with there names/numbers on their back)Also at HT he made a pathetic attempted gag when announcing an engagement (which weirdly followed two announcements of fans who had passed- where his tone was almost comical and… “on a brighter note” type theme) to suggest he is available to be DJ @ the wedding.
I don’t think he has any impact on results etc- but he hardly does anything to improve the atmosphere.
In his defence the fourth official working the substitution board clearly didn’t know how to use it! Put Sykes going off and Tanner coming on when they were both waiting to come on the pitch

Interesting that you think 1 point from those 3 games “isn’t a disaster” seeing as Pearson has already got a point at Boro so presumably you’ll be happy enough if we get beat tomorrow?
Toure wasn’t in charge for two of those Wigan games so struggling to see your point.By the way Mark Hudson 14 games in charge of Cardiff he’s won 4, Matt Taylor in charge of Rotherham for 14, he’s won two..
Shows how weird the Championship that one of the wins came away to Sheffield United!

A lot of criticism of Pearson over the past 24 hours (a lot of it fair imo) but let’s be thankful he’s never done an interview as embarrassing as this

I’ve just heard the post-match interview with Radio Bristol. It’s bizarre that after todays performance, it’s Atkinson that he was ranting about…
At the start of the season, Nige stated that he wanted to work with a smaller squad, we now have that. And yet, the number of players who are regularly left out of the match day squad is growing each week.
some players are certainly not in favour:
- Bentley, twice been dropped as the Number 1. Remains in match day squad.
- Massengo, contractual reasons are keeping him out of the match day squad.
- Klose, left out of the squad regularly.
- Atkinson, the latest to be left out.
Dasilva, Vyner, Pring and O’Leary are examples of those who have all worked themselves back into the squad.
Only one I don’t get it is Atkinson who should be at the least in the squad. O’Leary for me is clearly better than Bentley at the moment, Massengo isn’t 100% committed clearly and King has had more good games than Klose at centre back this year

We really need to understand the recent selection issues with Rob. He was in fine form earlier this season, but had one or two poorer games and then doesn’t get into the 18 today. Culminating with Nige saying what he did on BBCRB this evening.
I don’t get it.
I sort of got last week with King guiding Tanner through, but I also thought why not just play Tanner / Naismith / Atkinson.
I really want to see Atkinson with Pring outside of him.
Hope it resolves itself.
Find it strange because he was supposed to start that Swansea fan but dropped out because of illness and hasn’t started a league game since. I can understand him not starting today as Naismith and Pring worked well for the Rotherham game but to not be in the squad is bizarre

Wow.
As my posting history suggests, I feel we have a good squad. And I feel we are better than we are showing. But, today…jeez…
Taking this one by one, and not being wise after the event:
- The initial selection I didn’t mind. Vyner deserved to come back in although Tanner didn’t deserve to be dropped. My concern was no “defender” in the centre against a physical attacking side
- We got away with it first 20. They pressed us high knowing we wanted to play the ball out and penned us in. We got out due to Conway (more on this later) and Wells stretching the back line. For fifteen minutes we were excellent - the goal was deserved, two quality balls from the Scott/Conway axis and Weimann hitting the post
- The first goal is unforgivable. King turns his back on a ball causing it to hit his shoulder and drop in a dangerous area. It’s totally on him, and crystallised the “concern”
- However, it’s 1-1. In the second half, we don’t clear and it becomes 2-1. And this is where the problems start majorly for me
- First sub - Semenyo for Conway. Makes no sense. TC is stretching the Stoke defence, works well with Wells and plays to playing the ball through the lines. Ultimately makes us worse.
- Second sub - Sykes for Williams. Means we push Weimann up and play 5-2-3 as opposed to 5-3-2. Reduced options to play out from and we don’t create as a result and can’t combat the press
- Third sub - Martin for King. We go 4-2-4 so you’d expect “bomb alley”. No. We end up still trying to play out but now have even less passing options and players get caught. Under Holden throwing multiple strikers on the pitch didn’t work and it doesn’t under Pearson. We end up with 4 isolated and never look like getting in it.
I have no problem in “gung ho” as a tactic. But you can’t do it and then patiently pass. You have to do it then go long and early, and a disinterested Semenyo and past his best Martin don’t allow that.
For all that we were poor, and set up badly initially, somehow, today, each of Niges substitutions made it worse. That’s, for me, the major takeaway and concern today.
Disagree with you around the subs, thought Conway had a poor showing today (difficult against Souttar who was very good I thought), lacked a lot of energy in midfield which Weimann would give us and actually thought Sykes done well. Martin sub was to go for it which at 2-1 down who could blame him

Yep. Both seemed to want to defend exactly the same patch of turf.
Would also say the cross should’ve been stopped by Naismith. Campbell had all the time in the world to put it in the box

King being used as a huge scapegoat for me in my opinion. I’m aware he made the mistake for the goal but didn’t do anything wrong other than that. For me Vyner was absolutely terrorised down his side and sometimes even saved by King coming over

James is really underrated in my opinion. Keeps the ball well, reads the game well and doesn’t play it backwards anywhere near as much as our fans think
