I don't visit this thread much, so apologies if this has been mentioned but I have heard from a normally reliable Gas source ( he was right about lots of things, Sainsburys, the Wally take over etc) that next week they are going to announce their Stadium is finally going ahead.

I believe they are thinking they can pile on the good news and really rub it in about our situation, pay back for all the Matty Taylor stuff apparently.

I don't disbelieve you RedM but you would have thought the sags would be all over this yet there's no mention of it that I can see.

Sorry, I certainly didn't mean to come across as stroppy or defensive, I just meant that nothing really happened. It was an awful game, that Coventry deserved to win, but apart from that bit , yes we had a good day thanks. We went to that canalside pub the Greyhound, lovely spot for a drink and some food, pleasant stroll to the ground, then it all went horribly wrong!

Lovely boozer is the greyhound. Their steak and onion barms are to die for. Been there 3 times myself for our matches, the difference being we WON all 3 of them.

Chatting to a couple of gas mates tonight, they said the atmosphere, for 4,000 fans (fair play) was crap but it happens to us too. When we took 5,000 to MK I thought the noise was garbage as well because the quieter home fans turn up and the noisy boys get split up.

All that said, a bad day for you which cheers us up immensely! :)

I'm on hoilday so I'm afford the time. Haha..

I'm pretty sure some plank will nibble at my respone also  - even tho Im pointing out (right now) that my response was very much tough in cheek .However there is truth in my post.

Hmmmm, if I wasn't taking the proverbial, I might argue the point but we'll let someone else decide who's second eh?

    Haha ..... Haha.... Haha.....Hahahahaha!

I love abit of banter on here from time to time but on a very serious note - the way some of your mob really do believe your very own hype is cringeworthy!  Your in the best position out of any south west club for now, and are the biggest. But the above statement is well....haha.

I was waiting for a nibble Icegas, many thanks! ;)

Took a while though, I must be less subtle.

  5. More delusion...

'With a bit of a reputation, a massive away following, and total respect and fear when playing us.'

Fear? Of course, everybody 'fears' playing the pikeys? Don't make me laugh FFS!

Massive away following? For their day out maybe but where was the 'massive following' at their last away game?

Respect? Really, most fans laugh at them don't they?

    I like this game. :)

Wait, isn't that more than how many fans bothered to turn up for their last game in their borrowed 100 year old stadium?

Edit for accuracy. It was  Bristol stadiums Corporations stadium, not theirs (as usual).

Swindle and the pikeys side by side. A love story made in heaven.

United in their delusional hatred for the West county's biggest (by a long way) club and probably the second biggest as well but what have Plymouth done to them? ;)

Argyle are bigger than both of them.

How many did Rovers take to Newcastle or Aston Villa when they last played them in the league?

I would be more concerned as to how many horses were needed to pull their carriage all that way. It would have been before the combustion engine was invented I assume?

    Poor little horses.

Didn't you average 11K and 12K when you were last in League 1? - Just checked, and yep, In fact your average for the past 7 seasons has been 11.5K but here you are beating on like you get 27K every week.

If we had a shiny new stadium like you, and were playing in the Championship we would get crowds just as "high" as yours.

Congratulations on spending millions upon millions, on players, the stadium and god knows what else, and still being shit.

    1. The home stands were sold out (look it up) for pretty much every game during our last season in L1 and would have sold more if we had the capacity at the time I should think. Even 11,500 is 50% higher than your getting after 3 good seasons regardless. Making the point that you fill your little ground better than other clubs fill their bigger ones is irrelevant, your crowds are just about 8K and you have no excuse as you have the capacity for more. Maybe your ground is the right size?

    2. We haven't mentioned our crowds.

    3. If, if, if, if.

You can't fill your little ground, simples. We can't fill our big one either.

As for matching our attendances? Historically, we've always been better supported so there's another delusional sag comment totally negated.

We have the 3rd highest attendance as a percentage of capacity in the division.

We are also above Millwall for the average attendance this season.

As you say, the devil's in the detail.

So your ground is small yet you still can't fill it? Mahoosive, absolutely mahoosive!

Point well made by SMAF TBH, better than I could have done, their support is great because they have a crap ground. :trumpet: :trumpet:

If we liken this to the Championship, I would guess we should be cheering Burton from the rafters for their attendances.

:clapping:.... This has just made my evening....

Their off there rockers mind hahahahaaaaaa

Straight from the gas forum from ICEGAS.... Deluded fool!!

"See I think some of our fans underplay our long term potential and are so used to losing our best players over the years that they are willing to just accept he will go.

We are from one of the biggest cities in the UK.There is not premiership club near us for 80 odd miles, and our nearest club to us are nothing of any real note( dispite what they may think they are.)

As a club we have long term premiership potential that could rivial, if not better Norwich's support one day. We are one of the fastest growing clubs outside the premiership right now - training ground being built, stadium hopefully on its way, great new owners...etc...

DC has brought himself job security here for the next 3,4 years and will be able to mould this club in his vision which he would not get at any other club.

8,000 crowds when they're SOOOOOO good,

Norwich AVERAGED 24,756 in their last season at that level. That is all! ;)

  12. Bigger than Norwich? They're not much bigger than Colchester FFS and have a worse ground!

2 consecutive promotions and trying for a 3rd and they only get 8,000? I bet the Prem are 5hitting themselves.

    Bigger than Norwich? :trumpet: :trumpet:

    • Listening to LJ post match interview, he doesn't sound like a man who's nervous about loosing his job. I get the impression he's been given a guarantee he'll be here next season. Hope I am wrong but that's what I read between the lines. Please Steve, sort this out ASAP

I had the same impression. The bloke is bullet proof and it's killing the club. Totally nonsensical.
