Brislington has always been massively red, don’t think there is anywhere in Bristol these days which is majority blue unlike the old days, might be wrong though

Probably a small area in Horfield but I wouldn't consider a lot of areas in Bristol as blue anymore.

According to Barton at the weekend “his career might be over”, truly incredible that he gave him a one year contract after the stuff I detailed above.

I really don't get it. Garner had a plan and it was always going to take time but the potential of it was huge, couple of players sell for 6 figures and suddenly everyone is laughing.

The fact they hired Barton with no guarantee of continuing this plan just baffles me (as does the fact they hired him in the first place) yes you need to blend youth and experience together but relying on Pitman and Clarke to get you promoted is only going to end badly and there is no resale value. Barton has taken the club backwards.

There’s a bigger picture issue, too.

Garner had a dreadful record but his clear plan was to sign loads of players in their early 20s who had been let go by the likes of Palace & Fulham & try to produce a team that still had time on its side to improve.

This plan also had the bonus that should one of them do so well & attract the attention of a side up the pyramid then they’d get some funds to improve the squad.

    This is a coherent strategy.

Barton on the other hand has signed 36 & 37 year olds who were without clubs (& in the case of Leon Clarke, who had 2 hamstring injuries last season & a back operation), plus a load of 30 something ex-Fleetwood players (or Scousers), there is no plan, no possibility these players are anything but on their way down. It is absolutely incredible that Wael has indulged him to bring in 20 players & massively increase the age & presumably wage bill.

They are in huge trouble, I’m delighted to say.

You mean 36 year old Leon Clarke isn't going to get them £15m?!

    So in summary;

According to one belter who replied to the Bristol Live match report they only lost to Leyton Orient yesterday because of the ref.

The loyal & true fans’ numbers were reduced because of Tokyo World in Eastville Park (no, I don’t know what it is, either).

Wael should appoint John Terry because they’re friends (someone else seriously suggested Chris Wilder a few weeks ago).

    They’re ******* special, aren’t they?

Richer then us, coming for us, new stadium in 3 years was it? Boycotting Sainsbury's, always blaming officials, hundreds locked out.

No idea why you'd call them special...

Bristol Rovers 1-3 Leyton Orient live: Reaction as Barton and Gas are booed off at Mem

    Surely not?

It's impossible not for Loyal and Prowed Gasheads they would never boo their team off it must be some Ted's that got into the away end starting trouble again!

I reckon old Mel`s shot himself in the foot whinging about the EFL loan, pissed them off big time.

As far as I'm aware no other owner has complained about it and I'm sure derby were offered the exact same terms as all the other clubs.

I do hope that the EFL give them the additional 9 points because the people running the club are in no other terms cheats.

I feel sorry for everyone else, the tea lady, the kit man, the chef's and all of these other people because a lot of them will probably lose their jobs as a result of this.

Seriously? 700? That’s a scandalously meagre allocation - not like the home sections will be packed to the rafters. C***s.

They are just scared about being outnumbered by the away fans. Then again 1,000,000,000 fans will inevitably be locked out again.

    Yeah, just seen that….

I didn’t know Administration came with a transfer embargo too.  Not heard that before.  Guessing Wigan only signed free transfers due to “senior players” rules?

Tbf derby signed Jagielka, Baldock, Morrison, Davies and I think one other because they didn't have any players basically and those are all under EFL agreed terms.

  9. 12 managers in 10 years for Forest, we've had 6 in the sake time period.

My opinion on Hughton hasn't changed I still think he is a good manager to me the issue with forest come from the top you can't expect success without stability and they are currently going through more then 1 manager a season.

  10. New post on their forum called "our supporters are becoming a laughing stock" from one of their better posters I will admit.

But surely they are already a laughing stock? I mean we jest about Sir Colin Daniel who sent them into non league but didn't they invite Dean Windass to some sort of event? They are a league 2 club with a national south Division stadium, the whole boycotting Sainsbury's because of the mem thing honestly the list could go on.

    Oh Jesus Christ.

7 points from 7 games. They’re 21st in the very bottom professional league. And what is the bloke talking about in his post defeat interview… yep, you’ve guessed it…

    Promotion.

    Remarkable.

Yes but to quote one of them yesterday "if we won we'd be one point outside the play offs"

Beating Cheltenham's youth team will put numbers on the gate?

Meanwhile, 10 of our youth team/senior squad beat Hulls U23's 6-2, it was nice to watch, but I can't see it affecting the gate V Preston.

That sound you hear is them desperately clutching at straws.

What are you on about? By gas logic our under 23's result will mean we get an extra 10,000 for the game against Preston with 6,000,000 locked out

  13. May come back to bite me in the arse but 4/5 in you'd expect they'd of announced someone by now and with them playing in the Papa John's Pizza Trophy tonight surely they can't do that much.

Just imagine you're a prospective new signing "oh come to the game tonight take on the atmosphere" you must be thinking "what the hell have I done to deserve this"
