That was exhausting and eventually - incredible. ******* over the moon. Merry Christmas boys and girls ️️️

Worth remembering most had no issue with Manning and are just pissed with the board. There are a few who turned on LM fast but that was the minority. Excellent pair of results, rare back to back wins and he’s doing well. I’m happy we went for him.
Still want them to sell, still think Nige was sacked wrongly. But very happy tonight ️

No new injuries (or illness which is a relief!), no new returns. One change to the squad as we name a full complement of 9 subs - Nelson takes a spot.
Injured:McCrorie
Atkinson
Naismith
Roberts
King
Benarous

Sickness bug is a bit concerning, hopefully all have shaken it in time for the game.

Get yourself on the dull men’s club on Facebook they’d love stats like that
That keeps appearing as a ‘recommended group’ for me which I have mixed feelings about. I do enjoy the posts though so clearly not wrong!

I actually undertook a hefty project in my free time at work over the past year to check something and maybe it's relevant here.
In our history, we've won 10 trophies.
Championship (or equivalent) x1
League 1 (or equivalent) x4
EFL Trophy x3
Anglo-Scottish Cup x1
Welsh Cup x1
No major honours, and some of the cup wins could be called a little underwhelming. So this got me thinking about how we stack up to the other 71 EFL clubs (based on the make-up of the leagues last season).
I delved into all 71 of their histories and compiled a list of everything they'd won in that time (as best I could, we are going back 120 years in some cases). I counted every trophy unless it was at non-league level (anything below League 2), or was regional (I didn't count our Gloucestershire cups for example). I also considered major honours to be worth more (kind of obvious, a League 2 title and a European Cup could hardly be weighted equally). And, of the 72 clubs, when looking at quantity and quality of honours, we came around 30th. So 6th in League 1 if all EFL clubs were positioned based on their honours history.
So to summarise, we have underperformed by Championship standards but have more than most the clubs in League 1 and 2 to shout about when it comes to history.
Maybe this isn't actually that relevant at all, but I found it interesting to do so though people might find it interesting to read.
And you are correct, I'm not very fun at parties.

More seasons in top flight (62) than any of Leeds, Boro or Norwich including 10 consecutive in premier league with cup final appearance and European campaigns during same period. Also founder members of the Football League and Auto Windscreen Shield Winners 2002.
Sod European football, the EFL Trophy win clinches it the mighty reds have three!

As above. Plymouth fans currently ‘Oxfording’ - though they’re calling Schumacher a ‘rat’, where I believe our Liam was a ‘snake’.

It really depends on the team Moyes chooses to field on the day. They’ve played a lot of football and are through to the knockout stages of the Europa League.
Cant see the FA Cup being a priority, but that doesn’t mean to say he won’t pick a strong team.
Be a lovely boon if he does prioritise the Europa League and League position and go nice and weak against us. If we could scrap a win; be an amazing day for 9k travelling fans and always nice to make the 4th round.

Talking of penalties, I reckon the Sunderland fans appealed for about 27 of them today
I was worried they would get one by sheer will! The tackle by Pring at 92.30 did have me nervous!

Tidy full back, handled the League 2 to Championship jump better than most would. When McCrorie becomes available we’ll be well set there with the two of them.

Should keep the shirt off today. Quiet second half but did enough first and almost gave us us some daylight in the score.
-
How many did Nige get, total? None this season, two last, two the season before? So 4 total?
Manning has two in seven games! I think we’ve solved our statistical mystery

Great result and I’m so bloody happy for LM. Hope he hasn’t mistaken anger towards the board for anger towards him. Some situation he’s walked into but that’s how to settle things down! ️
No new knocks despite the players going to WAR for the badge today. And - because we didn’t ever have to chase the game we didn’t have to rush Wells on, so he gets another week of prep time before he returns.
Injured:McCrorie
Atkinson

Outstanding performance. People will remember the saves but did well from many crosses too.

Sad for him but he has to retire at this point. Football isn’t worth your health. Hope he recovers quick.

But you must surely see that even if the vision you describe doesn't totally materialise, we have people in power at the club that will give it the best chance.
With the greatest of respect and sympathy, you seem to be one of the supporters that facilitate the Lansdown's agenda.
We don’t need to argue. We argue with fans of other clubs, not each other!
I agree - the Lansdown’s are not the answer. I was a fence sitter, swayed by the pretty ground and facilities, but the Pearson debacle spelled out for me they will make decisions not in the interest of the club, but in the interest of hiring people afraid to oppose them. That’s no good. The club has to be the first priority.
But if you’re asking me to ‘vote with my feet’ so to speak, I can’t do it. Watching City is my favourite thing to do, going to matches with my Dad and sharing this obsession with him is just too important to me. If that’s something you want to do - I respect it. Even applaud it, as it does send a message.

Wake up.
Well yes, I have less decision making power than the literal billionaires who own and poorly run it. But I’d go and watch City in the National League South away at Weston if it came to it. Because they are my club.

I do want the Lansdown’s to sell but I’ll be damned if they stop me going to watch my club.

I’m going to that, my first time at Home Park despite Plymouth being my university City. I’ve promised my dad I’ll take him to all the cool student bars after the game, what could go wrong

Yea they are Sunderland. A club that's just beaten two top 6 sides in a row.
Blackburn were on a losing run. Didn't guarantee us three points going in.
